What does an oriental beauty costume look like for a girl? How to sew a New Year's costume for the oriental princess, Jasmine? Hat and ballet shoes

For a costume party or competition, a child always needs a costume. Bunnies, squirrels and clouds are no longer relevant - girls are increasingly performing in the outfits of princesses Jasmine, Esmeralda, and Cinderella. Oriental costumes, created especially for girls, quickly and easily with your own hands, are not at all difficult to sew, a little patience and the costume for the little one will be ready.

An oriental costume consists of several parts: bodice, trousers, arm ruffles, head decoration, monisto.

Let's analyze each part of the costume in detail.

How to make beautiful oriental costumes for girls step by step with your own hands

Bodice.

There are two simplest options for creating a bodice.

The first one is more suitable for very young girls. To sew the bodice, take a children's top. The color should match the color of the future bloomers, or be flesh-colored. The top is trimmed with fabric (chiffon, satin) so that there are folds at the bottom and sides. Folds are made using pins, then the fabric is sewn on using a machine. The straps of the top and the resulting bodice are densely decorated with beads, coins, seed beads, bugles, and strings of pearls. You can cut a strip of fabric wider than the strap of the top by 1 cm, sew decorations on it, and sew the strap itself to the top on top of the one that was there before.

The second option is suitable for girls aged 10 years and older. For tailoring, use a bra or swimsuit a couple of sizes larger. This is necessary to ensure that the size fits properly, since after decoration and trimming the cup size decreases. The base is wrapped in fabric of the corresponding color.

The straps are cut off, facing fabric is applied to the bodice and pinned. The fabric should be stretched very tightly.

Both cups are covered separately, then the fabric is joined on the chest with a neat hidden seam (basted by hand or sewn on a machine).

For the side panels of the bodice, there should be enough fabric to form the ties.

The finished trimmed bodice is decorated with sequins, beads, or any decor that suits the style.

Trousers.

Sewing bloomers requires a lot of fabric. To calculate the correct footage, measure the length of the trouser leg from the sacrum to the ankle. Width plays a secondary role - the more fabric, the airier and lighter the bloomers.

The photo shows how to cut harem pants. To do this, the fabric is folded in half, with the front part facing inward. On the side where the fabric is folded, a semicircle is cut out. You need two such blanks - for the left and right legs.

The fabric unfolds and folds with the front part facing inward. A semicircle is sewn, parts A, B, C, D are sewn in pairs. The result is pants with unstitched side stitching. This line can be picked up a couple of times, decorating the stitching areas with hanging beads or sequins. The legs will look beautiful through the slits, and this is very beautiful for belly dancing.

Bloomers sit on an elastic band, the volume of which is the size of the hips. The elastic band is taken to be wide and very elastic, so that the folds that are created when sweeping the trousers with the fabric fit beautifully on the butt.

Monisto and belt.

Monisto is a neck decoration that makes a characteristic tinkling sound when dancing and is in harmony in color and style with the costume. It can be made of beads, beads, glass beads, coins.

Like a belt, a monisto can be made with your own hands. To do this, the selected decorations are sewn onto a crescent-shaped blank. When sewing, you should leave a large supply of thread and sew on the decorations so that they hang freely. Beads and other accessories are sewn on in layers, but you can also form a pattern out of them.

Monisto can be made from factory-made coins - they are light, they already have holes made for sewing. You can go the other way and use small real coins. To do this, holes are punched in them and through them the coins are sewn to the workpiece with a strong thread. Real coins are heavier, but they ring better when moving.

The belt is made of chiffon or organza. The color of the material can be any - to match the bodice, trousers, and individual costume accessories.

The simplest belt pattern is a rectangular strip of fabric onto which decorations are sewn.

There are many ready-made belts for dancing, but if the costume is made with your own hands, then you should make the belt yourself.

Head decorations.

You can create a beautiful decoration if you use a large piece of organza, like on trousers. It is secured with a hair hoop decorated with beads and coins. You can sew a bandage. To do this, you will need an elastic band, the length of which is equal to the circumference of your head. Decorations are beautifully sewn onto it and a pattern is formed from them. The finished elastic band is attached to the chiffon around the circumference so that the resulting structure rests firmly on the head.

Oversleeves.

To sew arm ruffles, the circumference of the arm above the elbow and the length of the arm from the elbow to the wrist are measured. An allowance is made for the width and seams. Add 1.5 cm to the seam, as much width as necessary.

A rectangle is cut out of the fabric and sewn along the vertical seam. You can not cover the seam completely, but, like bloomers, grab it in several places, decorating decorative elements. Elastic bands equal to the circumference of the wrist and forearm are sewn to the fabric. They are also decorated with fittings.

The larger the sleeves, the lighter the fabric should be.

Recommendations.

When starting to sew a suit, it is worth considering that different fabric behaves differently in dance. Organza, chiffon, silk are light and almost transparent fabrics, they are well suited for a suit. Satin is denser, it is good to use for finishing a bodice or belt.

When creating a pattern, pay attention to how many folds there will be on the trousers and sleeves. If a dense fabric is chosen, then too much fabric will not allow the suit to play and flutter, but will look bulky and awkward.

When decorating a suit, they use the same accessories and follow the same chosen style. Decoration of the belt, head, bodice is not allowed different styles and topics. If used different techniques, then the general concept should be visible throughout the entire costume.

Video on the topic of the article

***"What material (fabric) is best to choose for the outer lining of the bodice and waistband??

If the fabric will not be completely sewn up with sequins and other decorations, then the elegant one will be velvet, brocade, etc. It is better if it is on a knitted basis, but not necessary.

If it will be completely sewn up, then usually take a plain fabric. It doesn’t really matter which one, ideally: inexpensive, on a knitted basis, so that the fabric itself looks decent and is not slippery. If, for example, you prefer cotton as a base, then such fabric should be washed first so that it does not shrink in the future. Color - usually taken to match the main tone of the sequins or a little darker."

***More tips for choosing fabric:

- there is a cool fabric - kashibo, it makes good skirts, it is almost opaque and not heavy.

- I am also tormented by the same question - I need a snow-white skirt 1.5-2 suns, in our city there is only crepe satin, chiffon or organza. Crepe satin is very white, but I know from experience that it is a bit heavy, the rest is not white and is translucent. What can you think of??

Answer: If you sew a 2-layer skirt from chiffon, with 1 sun each, then it will not show through. If 2 suns are made of crepe-satin, it may be a little heavy, chiffon is just right. Another option is chiffon on the bottom layer and organza on the top.

Silk, crepe chiffon

You can't use organza - it will be a stake, although some people still sew.

ABOUT THE BALEM PANTS:

About the width of the bloomers it is written like this: " The width of the pant leg is equal to the volume of your hip. At the top there is a regular elastic band. """

The base is like this, only Nina cuts it off at the knee level and sews on the sun. Where the seam is (dotted in the picture), it makes a drawstring and inserts a light elastic band, that's all."

* - Tell me, what is the accepted length for harem pants (both the traditional silhouette and Nina’s harem pants)? The latter, I believe, are literally 5-7cm from the floor? But what’s better with an elastic band or a cuff? And should this very elastic band/cuff be visible?

Answer: " In my opinion, first of all, comfort in dancing, as well as aesthetic appearance. It’s up to you to decide whether to sew cuffs or elastic; it’s easier to sew with elastic. In general, the trousers should be slouchy, so that it is convenient to bend the leg, everything else depends on the imagination ".

* There is wonderful material for sewing bloomers. I copy:

*********
"

You will need 1.5 - 2 meters of fabric (depending on how wide you want the bloomers to be) with a fabric width of 150 cm, height 170 cm, hip width about 100 cm

Cut the fabric in half, and fold both pieces in half, placing them next to each other (Fig. 13). Cut out a quarter of a circle, as shown in Fig. 13. Lay out and place both halves with the right sides facing inward (Fig. 16), pay attention to the vertices A, B, C, D). The result was two trouser legs, not connected at the sides. For now, from the top of A and B, C and D, you can sew it completely, or you can grab it in several places, making charming holes on the sides of the trousers, from under which your beautiful legs will be visible. The junctions of the holes and the holes themselves can be decorated with hanging beads, sparkles, and sequins.

All that remains is to place the top of the trousers on an elastic band, the diameter of which is equal to the volume of your hips, the remaining width will go into folds. Through the bottom edge of the trousers, also stretch an elastic band (narrower than at the top), the diameter of which allows you to thread the foot (Fig. 17).

Recommendations for choosing fabrics and accessories

For the costume you will need: translucent fabric (chiffon) of any bright color, elastic tape (elastic band), fringed braid, decorative coins (or ready-made monisto), bugles, beads.

Description of work

Trousers. Sew wide harem pants using any suitable pattern. Make a drawstring at the waist and bottom of the product and insert an elastic band. Do not sew the side seams, but rather tack them in several places using beautiful beads.
You can tie a scarf made of the same or contrasting material on your hips, decorated with fringe and decorative coins.

Oversleeves. Cut out two rectangles, sew a pipe, make drawstrings at the bottom and top, and insert an elastic band.

Bodice. Cut out the bodice (you can do it arbitrarily, by eye), and fit it according to the figure. Richly decorate with beads and glass beads. Sew a fringed braid along the bottom.

Head decoration. Sew a pipe from the main fabric - a cover for an elastic band (elastic band). Insert the elastic into the cover, connect it into a ring (stitch), then manually sew up the cover (in finished form will be gathered). Sew on a “veil”, decorate with glass beads, beads, and decorative coins.

Monisto. From decorative coins, bugles and beads, assemble a monisto - neck decoration(like a big necklace). You can buy ready-made ones in stores that sell dance accessories.

Decor. Place bracelets (store-bought or homemade) on your wrists and ankles. Place large earrings in your ears. "

********************************* How to make a BELT for trousers is very well described. I copy again:

Sewing a belt for an oriental costume (tells Elena Zubashenko)

I present to your attention detailed instructions on sewing a belt for oriental Arabic dance.

The belt, an example of which will show the entire sewing process, is being sewn for my niece, Mashenka, she is now 5 years old :)
This will be a children's oriental costume, so the sizes may not be the same;)

I make a belt pattern using a blank for absolutely any belt, and from it you can already make a shape, whatever your imagination tells you.

STEP1 - How to make a belt pattern for an oriental costume

I make the preparation like this:

We measure the volume of the hips (for Masha it = 64 cm), divide by 2, = 32 cm.

We draw 2 parallel lines on paper, 32 cm each, the distance between these parallel lines will be the width of the belt.

The width of the belt is chosen according to your taste - whichever you like best.

On each line we select the middle and put a dot there.

From the upper middle point we put 2-3 cm down, put a point, and draw a line connecting the extreme points with the lowered one.
We do the same from below. After this, we round the line and make it smooth.
Now we are creating a simple belt, uniform in width, but you can sew a belt for an oriental costume of any shape:, ...

Now the most important thing is to make the belt round so that it fits your hips.

draw a belt pattern for an oriental costume

To do this, you need to extend the smooth lower lines; they will go up a little. (in the picture there is a pink dotted line)

We make an indent - set aside 2-2.5 cm and connect this point with the top line, that's it, half of the belt is ready.

cut out the belt

belt fitting

Be sure to try on how the paper belt fits!

If the bottom edge is bristling, you need to reduce the indentation.
If the top one, the indentation needs to be increased.

Belly dance belt pattern looks like this

Another subtlety of tailoring: you must immediately decide what kind of fastener will be on the belt - on both sides, or on one, depending on this, you must leave a reserve of fabric for the gap.

The belt can be made with two fasteners on the sides. In this case, we simply duplicate the pattern, leaving space for fasteners on both sides. Such belt fasteners are worth doing if you have a triangular belt at the front and back.

This type of belt fastener is also good because if you lose weight/gain weight, the belt can be very easily adjusted to fit your figure, does not move, and keeps its shape.

And in our case, the belt is simple, and we make one fastener on the side. The belt will be fastened with hooks, I like them better than Velcro, they hold better and look neater.

STEP2 - How to sew a belt for an oriental costume

I greatly simplified the sewing of the belt itself. To prepare a belt you need:
1. Non-woven fabric - choose the hardest one
2. Beautiful fabric - the background, it will be on the front side (for the background it is good to use a beautiful shiny fabric (crepe-satin, satin, beflex), it will be visible between the sequins.
3. Thick cotton.

the cut out belt looks like this

We lay out the pattern cut out of paper onto the double sheet. We use our pattern twice, because... The belt is double, don't forget about the place for the fastener.

We trace, cut out, put the doubler paper with the adhesive side on the fabric that will be the background, iron it well so that the double leather sticks to the fabric, cut the fabric along the contour, leaving 2 cm for tucking the edges.

This is how the belt for the oriental costume turned out

We decided to make the background fabric white, and the oriental costume itself is with bright multi-colored embroidery. These will be multi-colored daisies for little Masha :)

Sew with stitches, carefully tucking the edge.

After this, we embroider the belt with everything we can - beads, rhinestones, sequins, stones, sparkles.

We decided to decorate this belt with false flowers - daisies.

Our next article is about embroidering a belt for an oriental costume.

Overhead elements are very good idea for an irregularly shaped belt, or for a belt with raised edges, or with small cutouts closer to the edge...

cut out false flowers for the belt

To do this, first cut out the shape of the flower, and then embroider each flower with sequins. Next, we sew the embroidered flowers onto the belt, and fill the space between them with sequins.

We add a hinge, in this belt we will make the hinge in a wave, for shine we put sequins between the glass beads.

The belt is ready!

HOW TO ATTACH A BELT TO BARM PANTS :

The simplest method, but it turns out to be widespread, is ordinary pins. They are used to cut off the parts of the suit from the front and back so that the belt does not twist when moving. But a pin can open up and give a great prick! Therefore, there are other ways and they are more convenient, you just need to spend a little more time on it. This is what they wrote about: " It is still attached with large flat buttons. There are buttons and Velcro on the inside of the waistband.
on the skirt and trousers=harem pants there are slots for buttons and the other half has Velcro.
"

Suit bodice .

How to make it is well written. This information is for an adult costume, but you need to know for experience. I copy:

There are several ways to make the top of the costume. The easiest way is to buy a ready-made bra that matches the color of your suit, and make it densely embroidered with beads, sequins, rhinestones or beads. It is enough to add a hinge of the desired shape to this - and the bodice is ready.

But it is not always possible to choose a ready-made bra of the desired color, shape, volume, etc. Then there is a need to adjust and adjust what is there to suit yourself. It's not difficult to do, you just need a little patience.

Typically, a ready-made bra one size larger is used as the basis for the top (if you do not need to increase your breast size). Be sure to take this into account, since after covering with material and embroidering same size your bra will definitely shrink.

If you need to enlarge your breasts, then choose a blank two or three sizes larger, but also do not overdo it, so that the breasts do not turn out too disproportionate in relation to everything else.

For the future bodice, it is better to choose a bra with dense foam cups: they hold the desired shape very well, and it is much more convenient to embroider a design on them. You can buy ready-made cups with seeds in the store. True, they usually cost more than a whole bra, and it is more difficult to estimate what the shape of the finished bra will be.

METHOD I. The simplest option. The bra is entirely covered with decorative fabric, on top of which a more or less dense pattern of rhinestones and sequins is applied. How smoothly and with the least amount of folds the newly covered cups will turn out depends on the degree of stretch of the fabric and the density of the bra cup itself. The denser it is and the more stretchable the fabric, the better the result will be.

For work we will need: fabric (more suitable elastic fabric, for example, stretch velvet, lycra, supplex, knitwear, etc.), pins, scissors, thread with a needle, thick fabric or not wide bodice, trouser, keeper tape for straps, hooks or decorative fastener.

Cut off the straps from the finished bra. We will replace them with dense, non-stretchable straps of the desired shape to match the suit.

You can cover the bra with two parts of fabric or cover each cup and side parts with separate flaps. It is important that there is a sufficiently long supply of facing fabric in the fastener area. Then, if necessary, you can lengthen the side straps by sewing thick fabric or grosgrain ribbon inside.

We apply the fabric to the upper edge of the bra and pin it along the contour of the entire cup, trying to stretch the material so that it fits very tightly to the bra.

Fig 1.

Where this does not work, we will place one or two small darts from the edge to the center of the cup.

Pin the fabric to the sides of the bra and cut off any unnecessary fabric, leaving some for the hem for the seams.

Fold the seam allowances inwards, pin them and baste them.

Rice. 2.

Rice. 3.

Let's do the same with the second cup.

Rice. 4.

Place the edges of the fabric between the two cups on top of each other, pin them and make an invisible seam.

All that remains is to sew the fabric to the base manually or on sewing machine, and sew the darts with a neat hidden seam. For fastening, you can use hooks or a decorative detachable buckle.

METHOD II. The option is more complex, but very beautiful when finished.

From the finished bra we will leave only the cups with underwires, all other parts will be completely cut off and replaced with more rigid ones.

Absolutely any fabric is suitable for work. It may stretch well or not have this property at all. For work we will also need a felt-tip pen, paper, cellophane or tracing paper, pins, interlining and adhesive fabric, adhesive tape.

First, we will take a “cast” from the finished cup - a pattern made of cellophane or tracing paper.

To do this, draw a line along the cup through the center with a felt-tip pen (chalk, soap).

Fig.5.

Take a sheet of cellophane (you can use tracing paper, but it may tear during the process) and use pins to pin it along the center line and along the edges of the cup, distributing it tightly over the entire surface.

In this case, there will definitely be folds in the upper and lower parts. We put them away in darts. Depending on the size of the cups, there may be several of them, but not less than two - one in each part.

Fig.6.

Use a felt-tip pen or pen and trace the contours of the future pattern on cellophane.

We draw the central line and be sure to do it as accurately as possible! - all darts to the center line.

Fig.7.

After this, remove the pins and lay out the pattern

Fig.8.

Let's clearly draw all the darts and cut the drawing along the center line.

Transfer the pattern to paper. Be sure to label each piece for the top, bottom, middle, and sides. Otherwise, it will be difficult to figure out what to sew on later.

It should look like this:

Fig.9.

Now the darts need to be closed. To do this, we make cuts on one side of each dart and move its edges.

Details finished pattern look like this:

Fig. 10.

The layout of the patterns can be done separately for each cup, or you can fold the fabric right side inward and make a blank for both at once.

Before cutting, it is better to check the accuracy of the pattern on plain fabric. It may need to be adjusted a little like this:

Fig. 11.

Pattern outline on light fabric It is better to outline with a disappearing pencil, and on a dark one - with a white gel pen, fine soap or chalk (sharpen it with sandpaper).

Leave seam allowances in the center no more than 1 cm, and along the contour of the cup no less than 2 centimeters at the top and no less than 3 cm on the side and bottom edge.

Cut out the workpiece and sweep it along the center line.

Now you need to do a fitting. We combine the seam on the fabric with the center line of the cup and pin them, and then all the contour lines

Fig. 12.

If the fabric lies flat and does not wrinkle anywhere, then everything is in order, you can remove the workpiece and sew the central seam on a sewing machine. If there are wrinkles left somewhere (this happens), they can still be removed into the central seam.

Now we pin the fabric and cup again with pins, fold the allowances to the wrong side, baste and stitch the workpiece.

The finished cups look like this:

Fig. 13.

Side parts, straps and connecting part Between the cups we will replace with parts made of thick fabric.

The connecting part can be given any shape, made of intersecting triangles, wide or narrow stripes

Fig. 14.

Fig. 15.

Fig.16

or replace with a decorative ring.

Fig.17

It should be taken into account that a wide bridge can visually reduce the size of the chest.

Length and shape of side parts(backs) depend on the design, the method of attachment to the cups of the bodice and the fastener (hooks or decorative buckle).

The side straps are made of thick fabric and trim, glued together with adhesive tape or web, and covered with decorative fabric.

The most common type of side panels is similar in shape to the sides of a regular bra.

Fig.18

They can be used to cut out the sides for the bodice. Place the bra on a piece of paper and trace the side strap all the way to the cup. Then the pattern needs to be adjusted in length and given the desired shape.

Fig.19

For sewing to the cups, we will make a margin of 5-7 cm (then the excess can be cut off). If the bodice is fastened with hooks, we will make the strap with loops 5-6 cm longer than the side panel with the hook. It is advisable to double the hooks with Velcro for reliability.

The side straps can be made in the shape of a truncated triangle.

Example: base 7 cm, height to fastener 15 cm, hem - 3 cm

Fig.20

Explanation. If the fastener is a detachable buckle, the hem should be made shorter by the length of the hem - 5 cm.

Fig.21

We cover it with the same fabric as the cups. Sew on the clasp.

Fig.22

The next step is to connect the side parts of the bodice and cups. This can be done using one wide or several narrow elastic bands covered with decorative fabric.

Fig.23

You can use it here too decorative details: frames, large rings.

Very convenient connection - lacing

Fig.24

It allows you to adjust the girth width if necessary. For lacing, you can use soutache braid or any decorative cords. Sew 4-7 regular loops from clothes hooks to the cup and the side of the back from the wrong side and pull through the lacing. Very beautiful and functional!

Straps Let's make it based on a corsage ribbon. Add 5-6 cm to the length of the strap for sewing. We iron a paper-based adhesive tape onto the grosgrain tape (you can use trouser tape), remove the paper and apply the grosgrain tape to the wrong side of the facing fabric, glued side down. Iron it. We cut out the blanks with seam allowances, bend them and sew them on. All that remains is to sew on the straps.

Please note that the bodice, after sewing on the hanging, sequins, rhinestones and everything else you are going to decorate it with, will be quite heavy. Narrow straps under his weight can cut very hard into the shoulders.

You can sew straps in different ways:

Just like a regular bra

Almost the same, but much closer to the fastener on the back so that it doesn’t fall off the shoulders,

Through the neck

Crossed on the back.

If the bodice is richly embroidered with beads, the bust looks fuller. Large elements and designs also increase the size of the bust. The pattern on the bodice should be combined with the pattern embroidered on the belt, but it is not necessary to duplicate it “one to one”. It is enough to select and transfer only the main embroidery elements.

About the top. The girl’s mother did not want lacing, but ties on the top, like here:

Therefore, you can take any top pattern for a girl of the desired height and sew straps instead of the back. Then the girl will be able to wear a suit for another year or two, as her mother wants. Fortunately, the trousers also have elastic, so you can adjust them. And make the belt already laced. I don’t see any other way, since there will be no fittings.

Phew... Let's get started :) Still, I've never sewed costumes for dances. I hope everything turns out beautiful and comfortable, the girl will wear the suit with pleasure :)

Part 14 -
Part 15 -
...
Part 29 -
Part 30 -
Part 31 -

There has not yet been a girl born in the world who would not want to dress up as a princess, dance at a ball in a lush luxurious fairy dress, and feel like an oriental queen. Soon new year holidays and you have a great opportunity to give children fairy tale transformations. To do this, you just need to sew prince and princess costumes for them.

In order to sew a princess carnival costume for a girl with your own hands, you need to choose a style, coordinating it with the future royal person. Choose a picture from a children's magazine and use it as a basis. Don't be afraid of difficulties. The main thing in this ball gown– lush long skirt and decorations on the bodice.

We will need:

  • an old child’s dress, according to which we will tailor the outfit;
  • blue or pink fabric – 2 m;
  • white fabric – 1 m;
  • beautiful insert on the front shelf;
  • rubber;
  • bias tape;
  • Velcro or zipper fastener
  • safety pins;
  • scissors, pencil, ruler.

    1. You need to take your girl's old dress and make a pattern on paper.

    1. Cut out the shelves using paper patterns, leaving seam allowances.

    1. The back pattern consists of two identical shelves. Leave 3 cm for Velcro or 1 cm for a zipper.

    1. To make the outfit very beautiful, try to choose the most beautiful fabric, brocade, embossed satin, lace, etc.

    1. Sew the clasp onto the back.

    1. Measure the girl's shoulder circumference and cut out the cuffs. The sleeve pattern is done quickly and easily. Draw it first on paper, simply adding 3 cm to the length of the cuff and putting 4 cm up on the sides, and 10 cm in the middle. Connect the dots with a smooth line and cut out the sleeves from white fabric, retreating 1 cm on all sides for the seams.

    1. Sew the cuffs and sleeves, gathering small folds evenly. For ease of assembly, use safety pins.

    1. Sew on the sleeves, also gathering the “extra” fabric using safety pins at the shoulder. After stitching, remove the pins.

    1. Now you can make the tail pattern. Cut two ovals measuring 60x50 cm from white fabric.

    1. Fold them in half along the short side and stitch, leaving 2 cm to turn the “bags” inside out. Sew them to the bodice along the fold line, slightly gathered, on the right and left at the waist.

    1. Sew a long wide skirt from two rectangular panels. The wider the pattern, the fuller the skirt will be.
    2. Sew an elastic band to it and stitch it with the bodice.
    3. Fold in the edges and finish the neckline with bias tape. Various decorative details can be added. For example, a ribbon belt, tied with a lush bow at the back, or lace braid along the edge of the neckline and insert. Children's carnival outfit for girls is ready.

Oriental princess costume

After the cartoon about Aladdin captivated the entire child population of the planet, almost all the girls wanted to be at least a little like the beautiful Jasmine. Why not give your little one a dream by simply sewing a children's Princess Jasmine carnival costume for her.

It consists of a short top, which can be made from any beautiful blouse, cutting it off on all sides and decorating it with fringe, and a harem pants. You can sew them from beautiful translucent fabric.

The photo shows the easiest way to cut pants from just two parts. First of all, grind down the pant legs. Fold the piece lengthwise and stitch along the edge, starting from the top of the pant leg. Then we connect the two parts according crotch seam. Fold the edges under and insert the elastic.

An adult carnival costume looks impressive on a lovely busty girl. An adult outfit can be made with deep neckline and low waist. Don't forget that Jasmine was fat long braid and a tiara.

Princess Leia costume and Aurora outfit

The princess is a warrior, beautiful, strong, smart and dexterous. The ideal of many girls. She has original hairstyle(two “donuts” above the ears) and white long dress with cuts. Both children's and adult costumes consist of a dress, a bright wide belt at the waist with all kinds of rivets and a spectacular alien weapon.

The Princess Leia costume is easier to sew than other royal outfits. The dress pattern consists of two long rectangles for the front and back and two rectangles for the sleeves. Don't forget to make "headphones" from braids.

An adult or children's costume of Princess Aurora or the sleeping princess, as we used to call her, does not have so many characteristic recognizable elements. Therefore, you can sew it according to any patterns.

The main thing is not to forget that before falling asleep, she cooked, cleaned, and did housework in the warriors’ house. Therefore, it is better not to use either brocade or transparent chiffons. Of course, before burying her, the sworn brothers took off her apron and placed a small crown on her head, but where could they get a chic court dress?

Princess Sofia costume

This heroine of your favorite children's cartoons is easy to recognize by several signs.

  1. She wears beautiful bright jewelry.
  2. She wears a small tiara on her head.
  3. Sofia's dress is lush purple with a raised hem and a characteristic pattern on it.

You can sew such an outfit by studying the master class presented above. There should only be two skirts. One is purple with semicircular cutouts along the hem and a pattern, and the second bottom is light and openwork.

We sew a children's carnival costume “Oriental Beauty”

The production of such an outfit begins with sewing harem trousers from thick fabric. A special pattern is not required for this, since at the waist they should have a drawstring through which an elastic band is threaded. The same should be done with bottom pants Wherein side seams they are made either solid or edged with galloon or braid and secured in 4-5 places, using beautiful buttons with a gold-colored cap or beads.

In addition, if desired, a large triangle is cut out of the same fabric or chiffon of such a size that it can be tied on the girl’s hips. Decorate the scarf along the edge with fringe or coins.

Next, sew a bodice from thick fabric. To cut it out, they take any sleeveless T-shirt that fits a girl. After connecting all the parts, a drawstring is made at the bottom and an elastic band is threaded or fringe is sewn on. Then the bodice is decorated with bugles and beads. If you are afraid that your child will catch a cold, then you can wear a white sleeveless T-shirt without a pattern, and on top a vest made from the same fabric as the trousers. At the same time, it will need to be richly decorated and strings sewn on so that it does not swing open. You will also need to wear a lot of chest jewelry to hide the T-shirt.

The children's New Year's costume "Oriental Beauty" will be completed if you make transparent arm ruffles. To do this, measure the distance between the child’s shoulder and hand and add 5 cm. Cut out two rectangles of the same width and 40 cm in length. Sew each one into a tube. Drawstrings are made at the ends and elastic bands are threaded through. If desired, make two more “constrictions” at equal distances from the top and bottom of the patch sleeves.

Head jewelry

One of the main details that should complete the children's costume of an oriental beauty should be the veil. It is attached to a head decoration. For making the most simple option From the same fabric as the trousers and bodice, cut out a rectangle 15-20 cm longer than the circumference of the head and a width equal to the width of the elastic band.

A pipe is sewn from it and an elastic band is inserted into it. Connect the ends into a ring. Sew on a veil of chiffon or organza, decorate the ring with beads, bugles or decorative coins along the edge.

A children's costume of an oriental beauty can be complemented with a beautiful turban. To do this you need to do the following:

  • a base is sewn from a rigid mesh and given the shape of a skullcap so that its circumference is 2 cm larger than the circumference of the girl’s head;
  • the edges of the turban are trimmed with regilin (corset tape);
  • cut out a strip of dense main fabric and drape it around the base of the turban, securing it with a stapler (to fill the voids, lay a layer of padding polyester between the fabric and the mesh);
  • along the lower edge the turban is trimmed with beautiful braid;
  • cut out a wide strip of the same fabric, preferably of a different shade, the length of which is equal to the diameter of the base of the turban;
  • fold it inward and sew it together to form a fabric tube;
  • in the central part, the rectangular “sleeve” is gathered onto a thread so that a gather is formed;
  • if the fabric pipe is too long, secure it at the back;
  • in front of the turban some bright decoration is sewn or glued - a brooch, artificial stones and an ostrich or peacock feather.

Both the head decoration and the turban can be complemented at the front with a short veil that covers the lower part of the face and neck. Its lower edge is treated with braid, and the ends are sewn to the hoop. If a turban is worn, the veil can be pinned to it with pins on both sides of the face.

Accessories

A children's costume for an oriental beauty would be incomplete without accessories. First of all, you will need a monisto. It is made from decorative coins, beads and glass beads like a large necklace.

Next, you should buy or make your own large earrings and several bracelets, which the girl should wear not only on her wrists, but also on her ankles.

Shoes

If a child has to dance just one dance in such a costume on a stage where the floor is warm enough, then you can do without shoes at all. However, it is better to sew the shoes yourself. To do this, you need to cut 3 parts for each leg. One is obtained by simply tracing the foot, and the other two should resemble a rectangular trapezoid with a very sharp angle. In this case, it is necessary that the long base is 10 cm more than half the length of the contour of the first part.

The trapezoids are sewn on the sides and connected to the third part to form a shoe. To make a curved sock, sew a piece of metal wire under the front seam using a zigzag, gather the fabric and fold it over. Sew an elastic band around the top edge, which will prevent the shoe from falling off your foot. They decorate it with beads and rhinestones.

Makeup

A children's costume of an oriental beauty looks great on dark-haired and brown-eyed girls with dark skin.

To make it suitable for your daughter with a pronounced Slavic appearance, it is better to apply makeup. To do this, you can use a wig or hide your hair under a turban, to which several curled false black curls are sewn.

In addition, eyebrows should be lined with black cosmetic contour pencil, and tint the eyelids with dark shadows with glitter, giving the eyes an almond shape.

If your child does not suffer from allergies, you can apply a self-tanner to the skin using a small amount of spray.

Now you know how the “Oriental Beauty” costume (for children) is made. Moscow is a city where you can buy or rent any carnival outfit. However, if you sew it with your own hands, your daughter will remember it forever.

For children's parties in kindergartens or schools, parents buy or sew them themselves fancy suits. The plots are taken from ancient or modern fairy tales, cartoons, and comics.

Most often, children are dressed as the Snow Maiden, Little Red Riding Hood, Gray Wolf, Teddy Bear, princess or prince. Oriental characters appeared in the Russian holiday tradition. This is an oriental beauty dancer, a genie, Princess Jasmine, Aladdin and others.

Today's master class is dedicated to the costume of an oriental beauty, which you can sew with your own hands for a girl.

The costume is easy to make. Consists of bloomers, arm ruffles, bodice, head decoration and monisto. Beauty, complexity and uniqueness lie in beaded jewelry. It is important to use high-quality beads in your work: smooth, without chips, without visible scratches. Therefore, it is recommended to use only round-shaped material, no bicone, triangles or bugles. This is the main rule when sewing a costume for a child and his safety.

Materials and tools: two types of fabric (chiffon, satin), non-woven fabric, elastic band, beads and artificial pearls, cardboard, pattern paper, scissors, tailor's yardstick, chalk, pencil, ruler, washing elastic band, needle, bead needle with a small eye, sewing thread machines and especially durable for beads, sewing machine.

Stage 1

At this stage, bloomers are made. For the pattern, you will need measurements of the length of the product, waist circumference and leg circumference at the widest part. If you wish, with some experience in sewing, you can immediately cut out the fabric, since the cutting pattern is simple.

Take 1.5 meters of light textile when the girl is 160 cm tall. The fabric used is ironed and folded in half.

For smaller girls, the following sizes are used:

The cut out circles are placed next to each other and sewn together for a do-it-yourself oriental costume for a girl.

The side seams need to be processed so that the material does not fray. After that, the outer side seams on the pants can be sewn in several places with a stitch of 5 to 10 cm. Instead of stitching, you can only grab the fabric and sew on beads.

An elastic band is inserted into the belt. To do this, it is enough to wrap the upper edge of the trousers twice along the width of the rubber product. The fold is sewn with a simple straight stitch on a sewing machine. Only a small hole is left for threading the elastic, which is then sewn up manually with a hidden seam. To make it easier to adjust the width of the belt, the hole can be left open.

The bottom edge of the trousers is also tightened with an elastic band. It is inserted in the same way as on the belt.

Stage 2

To sew the bodice, it is recommended to use a ready-made suitable T-shirt or T-shirt. They can be cut short and decorated with beads. Alternatively, the bodice is made independently. Below is simplest pattern for an oriental beauty costume.

Two fabrics rectangular shape shirred with elastic and sewn to chiffon sleeves. The bottom of the bodice is decorated with colorful fringe. The inserted elastic band makes wearing comfortable, gently tightening the shoulders, back and chest, allowing you to move freely during children's games.

Stage 3

Making a belt for a suit consists of several stages.

The girl's waist circumference is divided in half;

Take cardboard and draw two parallel lines on it. Their length is equal to the figure obtained above;

The width between the lines is chosen arbitrarily. For a girl, in practice, 10 - 15 cm is enough;

From the middle of the bottom line, 3 cm is drawn down. From this new bottom point, beautiful concave lines are drawn from this new bottom point to the edges of the bottom line, as shown in the first picture of today's master class;

The belt should fit snugly to the girl's figure. Therefore, the top line on the cardboard also needs to be rounded down by 2.5 cm;

The resulting pattern is cut out and tried on the figure;

The pattern is laid out on the fabric and cut out for the outer (front) side and the back;

At this stage, the two sides of the belt fabric can be sewn into one product. Both parts are tucked inward on all sides.

Hooks are sewn to the belt;

Now the belt of an oriental costume for a girl is decorated with her own hands with an elegant pattern of beads and pearls.

Stage 4

Making the fastening of the overhead belt to the trousers will not take much time. It is important to immediately stop using pins. It is not safe. Professional dancers sew buttons onto the removable belt on the wrong side, and make slits for buttons on the trousers. Slots are needed in the front, back and on one side where there are no hooks.

Stage 5

Organza is used as a decoration for the head. In eastern countries, a turban is often used for dancing.

To make it, take a fabric 20 cm long and 3-5 cm wide. It is sewn from the wrong side, turned inside out and stuffed with synthetic filler, for example. The ends are connected and it looks like a turban. It is important to measure the head circumference in advance for a DIY oriental beauty costume for a girl.

The turban is wrapped in a spiral with braid or ribbon.

Organza is sewn on the inside of the headdress. You will get a large and fluffy veil. Along the edges it is decorated with bright ribbon, beads, and seed beads.

Stage 6

The sleeves are sewn using the already familiar simple technique. The girl's arm circumference is measured. An allowance is made to the resulting figure for the airy shape of the product. It is enough to add 10-15 cm. Two rectangles are cut out of the fabric. Along its long edge, each cut is sewn with a fine stitch on a sewing machine. An elastic band is inserted along both edges. To do this, the edges are simply folded twice. You can also insert an elastic band in the center of the resulting product. It is recommended to sew on top of all three inserts satin ribbons and decorate them with beads and pearls.

Stage 7

The final and difficult stage is decorating the costume with beads and pearls. This work is painstaking and interesting.

It's better to start with a drawing. On the Internet you can choose an oriental ornament, floral, abstract, or come up with your own. Using a pencil or a disappearing marker (a simple marker will never be erased or washed off by water), a pattern is drawn on the bodice, on the removable belt, on the headdress.

In this case, it is important to combine colors correctly. There are special color compatibility tables. This way the oriental costume will sparkle with colors and light. A successful combination of large crystal stones with medium and small sized beads.

The work uses a special bead needle with a thin eye and especially strong threads that break with difficulty and great tension.

The oriental costume for the girl is ready!

Materials

Before you start sewing a suit, you need to review photos, drawings, films, where you can clearly see what it consists of. New Year's outfit, which needs to be made for a child. All oriental beauties wear wide trousers (shalvars) made of light flowing material and a flirty top embroidered with beads or rhinestones.

Having looked at the most acceptable and not too difficult option, can be brought to life oriental fairy tale for his beauty, who will be a real Scheherazade at the carnival.

The selection of fabrics and accessories is not so large. But nevertheless, for a children's New Year's costume of an oriental beauty, you need to purchase or find in your bins transparent fabrics of different colors. It can be chiffon, thick silk, nylon or crepe.

You can use a pareo, as it is always made of thin material. The combination of colors should be harmonious. Be sure to choose threads that match the color of the fabric, braid, fringe, rhinestones, and decorations in the form of coins with a hole in the middle.

Costume details

A costume for a girl can be made in two versions. The upper part of the costume is a top or blouse, the lower part is harem pants or a floor-length skirt, arm ruffles, head decoration and monisto. The costume will look colorful if it is decorated with beads or artificial pearls. The head of an oriental beauty is decorated with either a fez-like cap, decorated with a veil, or a monisto.

You can make beautiful armbands from chiffon or nylon. The beauty should wear shoes in the form of ballet flats, but with curled toes. If you find jewelry such as all kinds of bracelets, you can put them on your hands and ankles. The main thing is more shine.

It wouldn’t hurt to add a little cosmetics to your self-created children’s costume of an oriental beauty - shiny shadows, winged eyebrows and a bindi on the forehead. Your child will be irresistible at the carnival. And if someone asks you where you bought this lovely suit for your daughter, you can answer with satisfaction: “I sewed it myself!”

Top part

Usually, for the top of the costume, a top is taken, which is in the wardrobe of every little girl or teenager. Decorating it is what you need to do. It could be fringe, Christmas tree rain, beads. If you decide to make a top from fabric, satin and satin are suitable. The pattern can be made using a top or T-shirt.

The brighter and more colorful the upper part of the outfit is embroidered and decorated, the more beautiful the oriental costume will look. The top of a children's carnival costume of an oriental beauty looks beautiful with arm ruffles that can be cut from organza, nylon or chiffon.

The sleeve has the shape of a pipe. It also needs to be embroidered to make it shine, like the top of the suit. An elastic band is threaded into the sleeve at the top and bottom. Another elastic band needs to be stitched here as follows:

  • divide the sleeve into 3 zones;
  • Sew the elastic so that it is between one and two zones.

The sleeve is put on the arm so that the elastic separating one part is at the top.

How to sew harem pants (skirt)?

If you decide to sew a children's costume of an oriental beauty with trousers, then you need to take measurements of their length, waist circumference and leg circumference in its widest part. You can take a girl’s trousers and make a pattern using them, increasing the width of the trousers. To prevent the material from fraying, the side seams of the product should be processed. This can be a zigzag stitch or a regular stub stitch.

After this, the outer side seams on the trousers are sewn from the hip a few centimeters down and at the very bottom of the trouser leg. In several places along the unstitched side seam you need to grab and sew beads. The side seam itself can also be decorated, like the top: with sparkles, beads and rhinestones. Below, in the ankle area, there should be an elastic band. A wide elastic band is also threaded into the waistband of the trousers.

If you decide to make the lower part of a children's oriental beauty costume with a skirt, this element should be sewn from light flowing fabric. If the skirt is made of chiffon, then it should be all of this material. But rigid shiny organza can be combined with silk.

You can also use a pareo to make a skirt. But, regardless of whether the skirt is colored or plain, it should be embroidered with sequins. This is an oriental princess. If the skirt is short, you should wear leggings under it, which also need to be decorated.

Overlay belt for trousers

This detail is optional, but with an overhead belt the suit looks very nice. To do this, you need to take measurements of your waist and hips. You need to draw 2 parallel lines on paper. The upper one is 1/2 the waist volume, the lower one is 1/2 the hip volume. The middle of each line is selected.

Between the lines there should be the width of the belt. For example, 10 cm. At the midpoint of the belt on the hip line, you need to set aside 3-4 cm and smoothly connect it to the ends of the line. It turned out to be a toe. On the top line, also set aside 1-2 cm from the midpoint and smoothly connect with the ends of the line. ">

Next, cut out the pattern and try it on your child. The belt should fit to the figure and not dangle. Then this part is cut onto the fabric and placed on the interlining or lining fabric. When ironed, the belt looks starched. Great for a belt denim, which stretches a little.

Hooks are sewn on the back. The belt is decorated in the same way as the top and trousers. Interesting idea In making the belt, it will be knitted from dense threads. It will look like a corset. And, when creating a crocheted belt, you can immediately knit the elements decorating the belt.

Pattern on paper

To sew a children's oriental beauty costume with your own hands, you don't need to make a pattern on paper. Experienced craftswomen can cut the material right away. If you don’t have enough experience, you need to first lay out paper patterns on fabric, as shown in the photo below.

If a skirt is sewn to a suit, it looks good when made of chiffon with godet wedges.

Hat and ballet shoes

A children's costume of an oriental beauty will be incomplete if Scheherazade does not have a fez cap decorated with a veil or a monist on her head. The fez hat can be made of felt or corduroy with a small rib. Knitters can knit a fez from thick yarn. It consists of a round bottom to which a strip is sewn along the entire length of the circle. Both the circle and the side part must be seated on a cushioning material with an adhesive base.

The cap should not be high. A veil made of chiffon or nylon is attached to it. The hat itself can be decorated with braid, beads, and fringe. You can decorate your head with a monist and strings of beads, also attaching a veil to them. As an option, a hair hoop with feathers attached in the center and decorated with sparkles will suit the costume of an oriental beauty.

Just a few words about shoes. An oriental beauty can wear ordinary ballet shoes. You can also glue a curved nose made of thick Whatman paper to the toe of the ballet shoes, which should be pre-filled with cotton wool. Cover this structure with satin.”>

The most difficult part of creating a costume is embroidering the top with beads. To sew it, choose a bra with a hard cup, multi-colored beads, waxed strong thread and a needle. Start embroidering with beads from the center of the cup in a spiral, and decorate the straps last.

  • Then you need to start preparing the fabric for cutting the bottom of the suit. Lay your chosen fabric out on a flat surface. Take the pattern of the trousers or skirt and mark the necessary lines. Cut out the pieces, baste them with a basting stitch, and then try them on. To sew bloomers for an oriental beauty costume, take thin satin, crepe silk, crepe satin or silk. If you put a loincloth on top of the trousers, then chiffon can be used as the fabric.

  • Having chosen the fabric, measure the length of the trousers, the height of the seat, the circumference of the hips, waist and ankles. Add another 30 cm to the length of the product, of which 10 cm is needed for hemming the legs, decorating the belt, 15 cm for creating a beautiful overlap. To correctly measure the seat height of the trousers, you need to sit on a chair and measure the distance between the back and front levels of the belt through the groin.
  • After this, calculate the required amount of fabric. If the fabric is 1.5 m wide, you will need approximately 1.25 cm. Create a pattern based on taken measurements. The width of the seat should be ¼ of the circumference of the hips, and the width of one leg is calculated as ¾ of the circumference.
  • Fold the fabric in 2 layers with right sides inward. Using tailor's pins, pin the pattern onto the fabric. Outline it with a pencil or chalk. Add 1.5 cm to the internal and side seam allowances. Cut out the parts with scissors. Finish all edges of the product with an overlocker. Sew the parts together and machine stitch them with a fine stitch. A large stitch is undesirable, it spoils appearance bloomer

  • Sew a double stitch along the bottom of the legs and along the edge of the waistband. Insert elastic bands into the resulting strips. Add an increase to the length of future bloomers: 5 cm for the waist, 5 cm for the hem, 10 cm for the slack on the pants. To measure the seat height, sit the child on a chair and measure the length from the surface of the chair where the girl is sitting to her waist. After this, proceed to calculating the width of the trouser leg. Multiply the hip circumference by 0.75 - the increase in the width of the trousers. Then divide the hip circumference by 4 - this will be the width of the seat.
  • Using the measurements you took, create a pattern for the trousers. Cut out the resulting elements and transfer them to the selected fabric with chalk. Sew the cut parts together, insert an elastic band into the waistband and at the ankles.
  • Now move on to creating the bodice. Make a pattern using the length of a child's T-shirt. Transfer it to the fabric, adding allowances to the seams, and sew the resulting parts.
