Knitted potholder ideas. Crocheted potholders: round, square, in the form of a berry and a flower - with diagrams and descriptions, photos and video tutorials. Crochet potholders with diagrams and descriptions

Every housewife wants to have something original in the kitchen. Beautiful kitchen accessories are usually expensive, but you can make them yourself. Hardware stores offer ready-made crochet potholder kits with patterns, simple and beautiful accessories will create a bright accent in the kitchen. There are a lot of all kinds of instructions, realizing which, you get interesting drawings and ornaments.

All preparatory activities are desirable to carry out in advance. This will save time during creativity: in the process of work, everything you need will already be at hand. You don’t have to be distracted by the search for this or that material.

Yarn selection

It is important to pay attention to the color of the yarn and its density. Too thick is hard to work with, and thin will allow heat to pass through. The color is chosen, taking into account the type of product or the desire of the hostess of the kitchen. Experienced craftswomen select the shade of threads so that the finished product is combined with the rest of the interior details.

Needlework shops are full of a variety of yarn. For knitting potholders, it is best to choose:

  • Cotton has been used for over 150 years. Products are durable, such tacks are not afraid of frequent washing. High-quality threads retain a bright color for a long time.
  • Linen is a durable natural material, but it is difficult to dye. Such threads are suitable for lovers of natural colors.
  • Bamboo is a pleasant thread with good strength. It is pleasant and easy to work with such threads, but the cost may seem high.

For knitting potholders, you can use synthetic and woolen threads. In the case of synthetics, it is worth buying threads from trusted manufacturers. A product made from low-quality yarn may eventually become covered with spools.

Types of hooks

The hook number is chosen depending on the thickness of the yarn. On the label, manufacturers usually indicate the number of a suitable knitting tool. For example, for wool No. 7-8, hook No. 4-5 is suitable for yarn with a double thread of medium thickness.

Scheme

Schemes allow you to complete the work quickly and efficiently. If desired, you can deviate from the existing requirements in them. Finding patterns is not difficult, today there are many options for knitting patterns for almost any item. All you need is to find the one you like and start needlework. Crochet potholders with diagrams and descriptions can be knitted even by a beginner.

Simple diagrams describing the technology of work depending on the type

There are a huge number of patterns for crochet potholders. Below are the most popular.

Round

The easiest way is to knit a round tack. This model is suitable for those who have just begun to comprehend the basics of working with a hook. First, 3-4 air loops are recruited, connecting into a ring. Then, by adding them, each row is knitted with any of the columns. Add 1 loop after 3 knitted. Thus, each new circle loops will be wider than the previous one. The process continues until the desired product size is obtained. Round tack can be plain or colored. It looks beautiful when a plain circle is tied with a thread of a bright color.

Knitting steps

Square

Do-it-yourself square potholders are even easier to knit than round ones. First you need to decide on the size. Kitchen pot holders in the shape of a square are convenient to use. The scheme looks like this: the desired number of air loops is dialed (focus on the size of the thread so that it is enough), and then, with subsequent alternation or repetition of the columns, it is knitted until the product is obtained according to the pattern, with the same width and height. In the search for information on how to crochet a potholder for beginners, you should pay attention to the square model, and specifically to the variety of its colors.

Flower

Beautiful crochet potholders are easy to knit in the shape of a flower. Even a beginner will be able to successfully cope with this model. Schemes with descriptions are presented in the table below. When alternating yellow, white and black threads, you get a chamomile.

Loop designations:

  • B - air;
  • 1H - with 1 yarn;
  • 2H - with 2 crochets;
  • B - without a crochet.

Heart

Do-it-yourself potholders in the shape of a heart are knitted mainly with double crochet and single crochet. Original tacks are obtained on the basis of 30-34 air loops. This one fits interesting thing according to the following scheme:

  1. We collect 34 air loops.
  2. Then we tie 15 with a single crochet, skip 5 and finish the rest with a single crochet.
  3. At the turn of the arc, we make 7 double crochets so that the hook turns in the opposite direction.
  4. According to the same pattern, we continue knitting on the other side until the desired size of the item is obtained.
  5. You should add 5 air loops from the bottom and the same number from the top of each row.
  6. The product is made in 6 or 7 rows.

Needlework will become more interesting if, with the above step by step instructions use red and white threads in combination. To make the items reliable, knit with thick threads and crochet number 3-4.

We knit three identical flats

We connect them

Strawberry

The strawberry tack is knitted in three thread colors: red, white, green. The berry itself is made of red thread. The grains in the strawberry are embroidered with white thread in the form of small dots over the entire area of the product. The crochet pattern for crochet potholders is shown in the table.

Green thread will be needed for the ponytail. Leaves can be knitted in the form of triangles, connecting them together. More difficult option- make a paper pattern of a leaflet. On it, tie several identical parts and sew them. Finished leaves need to be sewn to the strawberry.

Sheet

Knitted pot holders in the form of a leaf, it is better to arrange in any shades of green, yellow, orange or red. This product can be supplemented with a flower potholder or any other hot pot holder. The sheet is not knitted with thick threads, its scheme is presented in the table.

Beautiful potholders are obtained in the form of berries. To create an interesting product "watermelon", you will need round blanks. How to make a watermelon potholder:

  1. It is necessary to knit a circle of red yarn until the desired size is obtained.
  2. Then you should disconnect the red thread, tie a white one and knit 2 rows of columns in a circle. Kitchen potholders can be associated with changing threads.
  3. Then you need to tie a white circle with two or three rows of green thread, this will be the peel of a watermelon.
  4. All operations can be performed using crochet hook the same number. The main thing is that the thickness of the colored threads should be approximately the same.
  5. Then we will make black grains. They can be multi-colored - black and brown. The best grains are simply oblong drops knitted with a dark thread, located between the middle and the edges.

You can sew a potholder for the kitchen with your own hands according to this scheme, having threads of the right colors and a sufficient number of knitted details. Sewing potholders will not take much time, you just need to make the right and beautiful lines.

Sunflower

Knitting tacks of different models is very similar. Sunflower is also made in the form of a black circle. Then, around the entire perimeter, we crochet patchwork inserts in the form of petals with a yellow thread. They should be short and consist of three or four loops in one row.

Piglet

original and funny tack the pig is knitted in any shade Pink colour. To create a product in the form of pigs, a large circle is made of yarn. He creates the outline of the muzzle of the pigs. Then they knit a small circle - this is the future patch. Eyes and ears can be cut out of the fabric of the desired color, and then sewn to an already knitted face. If desired, the ears can be knitted, having previously cut out a template of the desired shape from paper. Before sewing all the details, it is recommended to wash this patchwork tack. This is necessary so that all parts fit the same way. After the details are sewn together, and the nickel is tied with a light pink thread.

Mitten

The sewing of the tack mitt is done with the help of patterns. A sheet of paper should be cut into squares. You will need two figures. To make a mitten in the right size, we cut out the mittens. It is important that the glove has correct form and matched the size of the owner's hand. To do this, the hand is applied to the paper and four fingers are circled together, and the big one separately. The outline should be done with a margin of 1.5-2 cm. Such a crochet mitten tack fits perfectly on your hand. According to the made pattern, we begin to knit a mitten.

First, the required number of air loops is dialed and checked with the size of the pattern. Then the tack of the mitten is knitted with the same number of double crochets or without, bypassing the thumb area. By the end, you can slightly reduce the number of loops in the row. You will need two of these blanks. Before you sew a potholder, you should take a pattern and cut off from it thumb. The resulting part must be connected in duplicate.

The finger is knitted in the same way as the knitting of the entire mitten. Then the tack is sewn by hand with the thread with which it was knitted.

The star product is made on the basis of a circle. Loops choose any. When the circle has at least 150 loops in girth, you can start creating the tips of the star:

  • we knit 10 air loops and fasten them with a column through 5 loops of the circle.
  • so repeat until the end.
  • we strengthen each arc of air loops with columns according to the following scheme: 4 columns with two crochets, 5 air loops, 4 columns with two crochets.

Such operations must be done with each arc. Then, around the entire circumference, we add one row of single crochets. The tack model looks original when this row has a different color or even two shades.

Other models

There are many options for creating an accessory for the kitchen:

  • patchwork potholders;
  • patchwork potholders;
  • patchwork (nice and easy for beginners).

From scraps

Patchwork potholders are sewn patches. Many craftswomen have unnecessary pieces of fabric left after needlework. You should not throw them away, because even from useless pieces you can create a convenient tack. The form is chosen at the discretion of the needlewoman. The most popular are square, circle, rhombus or rectangle. For sewing, we select segments of a suitable color, cut out pieces of the desired size from them, and then sew them together. You should get two parts (the sides of the tack itself).

If the fabric is thin, you can insert a synthetic winterizer inside. So the potholder will better protect your hands from hot dishes. We sew the parts and get the finished product. You can sheathe the edges of the pot holder with decorative tape, so it will look more creative. From the same tape we make a loop for hanging the accessory. We sew potholders of this kind on sewing machine. It can also be made by hand.

From fabric

According to the pattern for knitted mittens, you can make the same, only from fabric. The workpiece is transferred to the fabric, cut out and sewn together. It is allowed to create potholders of any shapes and colors from fabric. For the kitchen, textiles with floral motifs, in a cage, with drawings of fruits, leaves and even animals are most often chosen. Monochromatic potholders trimmed with colored tape look interesting. It is better to choose a shade, starting from the features of the interior.

Anyone who picks up a hook can create an interesting product. Some knit bells, fruits, or just squares. You can implement any idea. Handmade products are always better than bought ones, because the soul is invested in them.

Video

Home hand-made is an integral part of the interior. I would like to bring something original, original, warmed by the warmth of hands and created in the evenings with the family to the design of your favorite kitchen. crochet potholders seem too bold a challenge. In practice openwork product- not a very difficult job. It takes a little patience and perseverance. A lot of love and desire to make the house cozier. The admiring glances of the guests will serve as a reward - a stylish accent attracts attention and arouses interest.

Often people learn to do needlework on their own. Master classes and detailed instructions help you learn the basics. Skills are developed and consolidated in the process of creating their own products. Crochet potholders - diagrams with descriptions and photos are given below - a great start and a test of strength in hand-made. This is not to say that knitting them is easier than napkins. But no more difficult than tablecloths or capes.

You can start a collection of accessories made in the same style and decorate the kitchen with handicrafts. It is important to prepare for the starting process and think through the nuances in advance. It is recommended to start with the choice of yarn.

Bright Ideas for a stylish kitchen

Synthetic fibers based on acrylic are rejected immediately - they easily melt and burn. For the same reason, wool should not be chosen. Thin threads do not fit. The crocheted potholder should be fairly tight so that it can easily withstand contact with a hot surface. Of course, knitting is perceived as decorative element. But the accessory is suitable for practical use, if you choose the right yarn:

  • Cotton threads. An excellent option for kitchen accessories is mercerized cotton, the so-called "Iris". Special processing increases the strength of the yarn, gives a silky sheen. The threads are dyed in bright rich colors that do not fade over time. The operational characteristics have led to high popularity among needlewomen - "Iris" has been chosen for more than 150 years.
  • Linen threads. Durable handmade material, which is preferred by admirers of natural fibers. Linen does not lend itself well to dyeing. Restrained tones look noble, and finished goods- textured and fit perfectly into the home style.
  • Bamboo threads. In terms of properties and quality, they are largely identical to linen. Yarn is the choice of those who appreciate absolute hypoallergenicity and environmental friendliness. However, it is more expensive than more familiar cotton counterparts.

It is important to know! It is acceptable to use threads with a small content of synthetics or wool fibers. They are more elastic and easier to pick up the yarn of the required thickness.

Autumn motifs - why not emphasize the charm of the season

Crochet potholders with diagrams and descriptions

Crocheted potholders with patterns and descriptions are a real find for needlewomen. The more detailed and illustrated the instructions, the higher the quality of the finished sample. It is recommended to pay due attention to the development of schematic images. This helps to avoid mistakes when knitting accessories.

Flower

One of the simplest and most common forms for crochet potholders - patterns are easy to find, as well as pick up yarn. The popularity is due to the fact that floral elements look advantageous in the interior. It is possible to experiment with a color scheme and create whole "bouquets" - compositions that harmonize the design and fit into any style.

An example of dark red and golden beige yarn

For crocheting potholders, choose tool No. 2.0 and think over a combination of colors in advance, usually two contrasting ones. Then proceed as follows:

  • The process starts from the center with a dark red thread. Gain 8 air. n. and close the ring.
  • In the second row knit 18 tbsp. s / n.
  • In the third - 1 tbsp. with a double crochet of the second row, a loop of 23 air is knitted. loops and connected in the same column. Next, knit 1 tbsp. b / n and get 9 long loops and 1 tbsp. b / n between them.
  • In the fourth and fifth, the resulting loops are tied with b / n columns. At the top of each loop add 3 tbsp. b/n.
  • On the sixth or seventh, the thread is changed and the same crochet order is kept. The eighth-ninth rows are performed in a different color.
  • After the tenth row, knitted with contrasting yarn, wrap the petal to the left. To do this, count 7 tbsp. b / n from the top, wrap the petal and connect with the next 8 tbsp. b/n. The rest of the elements do the same.

The accessory is used as an element of decor and as an everyday assistant in the kitchen. Periodic washing in cool water is sufficient, followed by light starching and ironing. Shape and color are retained for a long time.

The pattern is also known as "asterisk" because of the shape of the petals.

Spectacular composition of three products

It is important to know! The element can be included in a cape, tablecloth or handmade kitchen curtain.

strawberry

Berry motifs are popular in kitchen design. IN winter time bring a taste of summer. In autumn they prolong the feeling of warmth, and in spring they give a premonition of light and freshness of berries. One of the most interesting forms is the strawberry, the spring-summer symbol of the season of delicious vitamins. Bright rich crocheted potholders decorate the space and become the highlight of the interior.

A hook 2.5-3.0 is recommended. Red threads will take twice as much as green threads. For example, for a product with a diameter of 21 cm, you will need 100 g of red and 50 g of green yarn - 80 m / 50 g. Knit as follows ( step by step description scheme):

Composition of two berries

It looks like a composition of two berries

Detailed schematic drawing

Process description:

  • You will need threads of three colors - red, pink-red, green.
  • The berry and tail are knitted separately, then carefully sewn together.
  • Each row of strawberries consists of single crochets - increase and decrease the number according to the counting instructions.
  • Starting from the third row from the bottom or from the second from the top, with equal indentation vertically and horizontally, knit together 6 tbsp. s / n in one loop of the base. Each s / n is knitted on the 4th or 3rd 2 rows below (see diagram).
  • In the leaves and along the contour of the berry, if the badges are connected at the bottom of the b / n columns, then the loops are knitted in the same loop of the base. When connecting the icons at the top, the loops are knitted together.

The result is a dense voluminous "strawberry", which is suitable for decoration and practical use.

As a hint and helper, they rely on instructions for creating sunflower napkins. When analyzing the drawings, the degree of delicacy of the future product is taken into account. If the accessory is intended for decoration, this factor is insignificant. But for everyday use, dense options are suitable. The main thing is not to forget about the loop for which the knitted item is hung.

In a good housewife, everything is beautiful in the kitchen. But how often the picture is spoiled by old, burnt rags, which are used to take hot dishes. But this is not only not aesthetically pleasing, but also inconvenient and dangerous - you can easily burn your fingers. But if you know which hand to hold, then you can consider this issue resolved. Even the remnants of yarn and deformed threads from old knitted products also well suited for tying the potholder can be of varying complexity - from those that take you half an hour to almost works of art. But be prepared for the fact that households can accidentally set fire or smear food on the result of your work.

Easy for Beginners

This project will require a minimum of time and skills from the knitter, and will help beginners hone their skills in forming an even, neat fabric.

The tack has a square shape, we start work from the center. We close 4 loops in a circle, 1 lifting loop and start the pattern: single crochet and 2 air loops. In subsequent rows, 1 loop is made between single crochets, only at the corners we add two. And so on, until the potholder is the right size. And a cheerful terry edge is achieved only by increasing the number of air loops: we knit not one, but four.

Experiment with colors, if desired, make the main part of the potholder striped. Melange yarn will have an interesting effect - smooth transitions colors will be advantageously set off by a monophonic border.

fun geometry

With the classic "grandmother's square" pattern, original crocheted potholders are also obtained. Pattern schemes are extremely simple: a ring of 4 loops, 3 lifting loops, 2 more as part of the pattern and 3 each and a loop between them. To get even corners, add 2 loops. The columns are arranged in a checkerboard pattern. Due to the different colors of yarn, you can achieve a very interesting effect. Such squares with rows in rainbow colors look bright and unusual.

Bulk flower

Based on the granny square pattern, many new ones have appeared that will make excellent crochet potholders. Schemes can start both from the center of the square and from the corner, and here is another option with voluminous flower in the middle.

Rows work like this:

Yellow

1. The core of the flower: a ringlet - 4 air loops.

2. 1 lifting loop, 8 arches from air loops and single crochets.

White color

3. We make chamomile petals: on each arch we knit 3 air loops, three and again 3 loops.

Green color

4. The basis for the leaves will be elongated arches of 4 loops that will pass behind the white petals. Due to this, the flower will rise and become voluminous.

5. We begin to work on the principle of the usual "grandmother's square". Next - the color of the thread is arbitrary.

Please note: the points in the diagram are not air loops, they are simply symbols of the places where subsequent elements are attached.

Tutti Frutti

Funny fruits will settle in your kitchen if you know how to knit in a circle. If not, then this great occasion learn, and then use your new skill when knitting hats, napkins, baskets and even pillows.

To knit neat crochet potholders, patterns must be calculated based on certain rules. Then the canvas will not gather in a cone and will not be folded in flounces.

When knitting with double crochets, we always start with 6 air loops, in the first row we make 12 tbsp. s / n, mentally divide them into 12 wedges and in each subsequent row add a loop to the wedge. In order not to get a regular hexagon, the increments need to be slightly shifted relative to each other. This does not affect the number of loops, but it turns out an even flat circle. If we knit with single crochets, we do the same, but start with 6 columns and make additions in every sixth of the circle.

Round potholders

We continue to develop the theme of knitting in a circle. Small remnants of multi-colored yarn will come in handy for work, with them you can create beautiful crochet potholders. The schemes are quite simple, when working with a project, you can do it in half an hour.

The highlight of the first version of the two-color potholder is a row of “melange” yarn, which was obtained by connecting one thread of each color. Row work is done like this:

  1. Circle of 4 air loops in color A.
  2. 11 double crochets.
  3. In each loop of the 2nd row we make two columns with a crochet of a multi-colored thread.
  4. Same as row 3, but color B. Total 44 columns.
  5. We tie the edge of the pot holder with color A with a “shell” pattern: we knit five columns with a crochet in one loop, skip one, a single crochet, skip one more and repeat five columns.

kitchen starfall

The potholder (crocheted) “star” looks very impressive and difficult. The scheme, on the contrary, shows that everything ingenious is simple, and if you are familiar with the basic knitting techniques, then this work is within your power. More often, these potholders are made multi-colored, then it seems that the stripes are ingeniously intertwined.

Well, let's reveal the secret of the "star":

  1. We close in a circle 8 air loops.
  2. We make a flat circle, which will be the center of the "star". In this example, double crochets are used (18 pcs.), However, there are variations of the scheme where single crochets are used.
  3. Now we make very elongated arches that will become the basis of the petals: 1 lifting loop, 23 air loops, single crochet - all in one loop. Skip the loop and repeat in a circle. It turns out 9 petals.
  4. We tie the loops with single crochets.
  5. Then you can use a different color. We continue to tie the petals with single crochets, making the necessary additions: two columns at the tips of each petal. So we knit 6 rows.
  6. Now the most interesting stage. We beautifully lay the petals and begin to tie the edge of the tack with single crochets. At the tops of the flowers we make picot (between two columns 3 air loops). This is necessary so that the canvas does not wrap from the strapping. You can also make a loop for hanging - this is one pico, but not from 3, but 20 loops.

This is how this elegant "star" is made. You can increase the number of rows of strapping, then the tack will look like a circle with a volume center.

luxury sunflowers

This cheerful flower will brighten up any kitchen. Many craftswomen knit patterns, and at the same time they are different - from simple circles of black or brown yarn, tied in a circle with yellow “shells”, to intricate ones, such as this one.

But in fact, if you carefully read the description of the previous potholder, then this flower will be easy for you to repeat. We do the same steps - a flat circle, but from columns with two crochets in the amount of 11 pieces and petals we knit not 9, but 12. We tie them with 3 rows of single crochets and continue to work in circles according to the scheme, performing the necessary additions.

Do not forget that the tack is primarily a functional item. Multi-ply cotton yarn is ideal for crocheting potholders. Pattern patterns with a minimum of holes will allow you to create a product that will reliably protect your hands. But this does not mean that you need to give up beautiful openwork potholders. If there are a lot of holes in the pattern, be sure to make a two-layer version. Sew just a square or a circle, crocheted, or interlining of interlining and cotton fabric.

Today we will knit solar potholders for the kitchen. Do you know that orange must be present in the kitchen? These potholders can also be used as coasters for hot dishes.

The orange color of the sun, wealth, attraction of well-being.

Related potholders will decorate any kitchen, will be useful to housewives, will create coziness.

NOTATION

VP - air loop

CCH - single crochet

RLS - single crochet

Description of knitting tacks.

Knitting potholders will start from the center. We make an amigurumi ring and we collect 12 columns with one crochet (CCH) into it. Then we knit in a spiral, that is, we move on to the next row without connecting the beginning and end of this row.

We knit 2 dc in each loop.

In each next row we knit in a loop between two CCHs 2 CCHs, and in the remaining loops 1 CCH each. Having knitted to the desired width (I got 8 rows), we make a loop of 8-10 air loops (VP) between two CCHs (you can take absolutely any number of air loops, see that the loop becomes comfortable).

We do the binding approximately evenly, that is: when we tied about half, count the loops and decide whether everything is exactly right. If not (as it turned out for me), then we knit CCH not in the second, but in the third or in each loop, we look at the circumstances. So we knit to our loop. We tie it with RLS so that it does not turn out thick, but evenly beautiful. (I got 15 sc). We connect the row, tighten the loop tightly, cut the thread, hide the tip.

You can decorate potholders by knitting a chain of air loops with a thread of a different color, attaching it to the main fabric. See how to do it in the photo below.

Here are some more adorable kitchen potholders from the internet. Connected in exactly the same way. Added eyes, flowers, beads, buttons, leaves and other decorative elements. Some without strapping, others strapped. Craftsmen, get creative! When making potholders, you can let go of your imagination. Potholders connected in this way can also be used as hot coasters.

In the next version of the potholders, we use threads of three colors: orange, black or dark brown and red for the tongue. When tying, we form ears.

Hot stand

I took the thread for needlework, hook number 4. If we knit a potholder, we take the yarn in 2 - 3 threads. For a hot stand, it is better to take stiff yarn, cord, or braid and a larger hook.

We will knit in a circle. We use air loops, single crochet and half single crochet.

First we knit a ring, for which we will then hang.

Potholder Hamburger

You will need: leftover yarn in beige, green, brown, yellow, red and light green, hook number 4.

With a beige thread, tie a chain of 20 VPs and then knit according to the scheme from the bottom up.

Then, with a red and light green thread, tie the parts on the finished potholder with half-columns, as shown in the photo.

Tie the entire tack with a beige thread with one row of RLS, tie a loop of 20 VP at the top. and tie it with one row of RLS.

Description of the tack "Sun"

We crochet a bright yellow circle, embroider eyes, cheeks, mouth on it.
We make bangs and rays from pieces of yarn of the same length. To do this, we crochet the middle of the segment a row below and skip the ends into it. For rays, use threads of three colors.
