Fashion model women's pullover with crochet braids step by step description and knitting pattern.

You will need: 600 (650, 700) grams of yellow yarn, consisting of 50% natural wool, 50% polyacrylic; thread length 125 meters in 50 grams; hook No. 4.5.

Pullover sizes with braids: 34-36 (38-40, 42-44).

Basic pattern: double crochets. Start each row with 3 chain crochets instead of 1 double crochet and finish with 1 double crochet in the last chain crochet of the previous row.

Starting from the 2nd row (= purl row), in purl rows insert the hook only behind the front wall, in front rows - only behind the back wall of the loops of the previous row.

Braid pattern: the number of stitches in the initial row is a multiple of 9 + 6. Knit according to the crochet pattern.

The pattern starts with 1 purl row. Repeat the rapport constantly, ending with loops to the arrow. Perform rows 1-5 once, then constantly repeat rows 2-5.

see also step by step instructions, but instead of double crochet stitches, do double crochet stitches.

Knitting density of cable pullover: main pattern - 19.5 loops per 10 rows corresponds to 10 by 10 cm; braid pattern (42 loops) – width 20 cm.

Description of knitting a pullover with braids

Back: make a chain of 86 (94, 102) chain stitches + 3 chain stitches and knit with the main pattern.

After 55 cm = 55 rows from the initial row, skip 9 loops on both sides for the shoulder bevel and in each next row 2 rows 6 (8, 10) loops, while for more smooth transition tie the first 4 loops of one step along the right edge of the work with 2 connecting stitches and 2 single crochets, knit along the left edge of the work in a mirror image.

On the remaining 44 loops, finish the work after 58 cm = 58 rows from the starting row.

Front part: make a chain of 88 (96, 104) chain stitches + 3 lifting chain stitches and knit as follows:

23 (27, 31) loops in the main pattern, 42 loops in the braid pattern, 23 (27, 31) loops in the main pattern.

After 52 cm = 52 rows from the initial row, continue working on all loops with the main pattern, while in the 1st row, evenly distributed, decrease 2 loops = 86 (94, 102) loops.

After 53 cm = 53 rows from the starting row, skip the middle 18 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

To round along the inner edge, skip in each next row 1 time 6 loops, 1 time 4 loops and 1 time 3 loops.

At the same time, make decreases for the shoulder bevel, as on the back.

After 57 cm from the starting row, all loops will be used up.

Sleeves: for each sleeve, make a chain of 46 chain stitches + 3 chain stitches and knit with the main pattern.

After 8 cm from the initial row, add 1 loop on both sides to bevel the sleeves and then alternately in every 3rd + 4th row 10 times 1 loop (in every 3rd row 12 times 1 loop; alternately in every 2nd row + 3rd row 10 times 1 loop and in every 3rd row 4 times 1 loop) according to the pattern = 68 (72, 76) loops.

After 46 cm = 46 rows from the starting row, finish the work.

Assembly: sew shoulder seams, sew in sleeves. Execute side seams and sleeve seams.

Tie the edge of the neckline in 2 circular rows with a single crochet.

Weave bunches of fringe into the bottom edge (= 3 threads 35 cm long), 1 bunch after approximately every 5th loop of the bottom edge.

Dimensions: 34- (EUR)
We will need: “Iris” yarn (100% cotton, 180 m/100g) - 600-700-800-900-1000 g Pink colour, hook No. 4, tapestry needle, stitch markers.

Knitting density: 16p x 20 r. = 10 x 10 cm.

Note for sample: [each new embossed double crochet (RSTN) is knitted into the previous RSTN, while skipping as many loops in the row as RSTN was knitted, in order to eliminate the addition of loops].

Good day!

It's winter outside, and here in Siberia, the frosts are getting stronger... in a word, winter is in full swing. I’m sitting at home, heating the stove...from the cold, so to speak, hiding in warmth and comfort. What am I talking about...

Ah, so this is what I'm getting at. Looking at the weather outside the window, I thought that it was time to crochet a warm and cozy sweater.) And I did.

I will share with you, dear readers, a master class on knitting a very simple sweater with crochet braids.

So here it is

Master class “Crochet sweater for beginners”

In this master class, you can knit a sweater for both a child and an adult, using your own measurements.

I give as an example knitting a sweater for a child about 1 year old)

For knitting we will need:

  1. Yarn. Wool, wool blend, cotton or thread with viscose added. Depending on whether you are knitting a warm sweater or a light one for the summer. For a child's sweater - approximately 1 year old - you need 200-250 grams. For an adult sweater size 42-44 you need approximately 600-700 grams. It all depends on the length of the sweater and sleeves.
  2. Hook. We select the appropriate thread thickness. You can see an example .
  3. Scissors.

Loop calculation

First of all, let's take the following measurements:

Head circumference

Bust

Shoulder width

The length of the sleeve

Back length to waist

Let's subtract 4, because there will be 4 raglan loops = 88 loops in the chain, but this is not the final number

Divide by 3=29.3 (round down)=29

Back 29-2=27 loops

Divide sleeve 29 in half = 14.5 = 14 loops

Shelves 29+2=31 loops

Now let's calculate the exact number of loops that need to be cast on:

Fold: back + 2 sleeves + shelves = 27 + 14 + 14 + 31 = 86 loops

We collect a chain of 86 air loops.

This is a slightly confusing method of calculation, but it always helps me.

We also need these numbers:

Back = 27 loops

Sleeve = 14 loops

Shelves = 31 loops

Knitting a yoke

We collect a chain of 86 air loops and close it into a ring. We make 3 lifting air loops - because... We will knit with double crochets in turning rows.

We start knitting from the middle of the back. Divide the back loops in half = 29 divided by 2 = 14+15

We first need to knit 14 + chain stitches = 15 double crochets. Since we count 3 lifting loops as one column.

Now comes the raglan line. How to knit raglan:

We knitted 15 double crochets, make 1 chain stitch and knit another stitch in the same loop where our 15th stitch comes from. That is, we will get 2 columns from one loop, and an air loop between them. This is raglan. There will be 4 of these.

With each row there will be an expansion, since we are adding 4 columns.

Now the front part of the sweater is shelves. We have 31 columns here. So, we knit 31 double crochets. Then raglan.

And the second sleeve. 14 columns. And raglan.

Now the second half of the backrest remains - remember 15+14=29 columns? We have already knitted 15, now we will knit another 14 stitches.

When 14 stitches have been knitted, we close the row with a connecting loop. We insert the hook into the 3rd lifting loop, grabbing the working thread and pulling it through both loops at once.

Here is the first row of columns knitted:

2nd row. We collect 3 lifting air loops. We unfold the knitting and knit in the opposite direction. So every row. And now you don’t need to count, we just knit double crochets, not forgetting to knit the raglans, as we did in the first row.

We reach the pattern with braids.

Calculations for the braid pattern:

The pattern will be like this:

22 columns

LRS - front (convex) embossed double crochet

IRS – purl (concave) embossed double crochet

That is, the braid pattern will take 22 loops. We need to figure out how many double crochets remain before and after the pattern. So that the braids are in the middle of the front of the sweater, in the center.

Count all the columns of the shelf. And build on this amount.

I got 40 columns.

40 columns subtract 22 columns for the braid pattern = 18 columns + 2 columns (increase by 2 raglans) Divide in half = 10

This means that we need to knit 10 double crochets on the shelf, then 22 loops of the braid pattern and there will be another 10 double crochets left to knit.

Knitted 10 double crochets,

we knit a pattern of knit and purl (convex and concave) embossed double crochets:

2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS= 22 columns

And again the usual double crochets.

So we knit the 2nd row of the pattern from the front side, the 3rd row from the wrong side and the 4th row from the front side.

Knitted 2 stitches:

and one purl stitch:

then the remaining 10 double crochets and a raglan loop

We knit another 14 stitches of the second sleeve and end the row with a connecting loop. Now we cast on 3 lifting loops:

3rd row.

5th row. 3 lifting loops. We tied it to a pattern with braids. We will knit crossed stitches with 2 crochets.

We knit the pattern with braids from the wrong side. Therefore, we will knit knit stitches with purls, and where we had purls, we will knit them with knit stitches above them.

The rest is as usual - double crochet and raglan loops, as done in the 1st row.

We knit 2 IRS, then 1 LRS

Now there are 6 facial ones. We knit them with purl stitches with 2 double crochets in this order:

We make 2 yarn overs on the hook, skip the first 3 stitches and knit the 3rd, 4th and 5th stitch as purl relief stitches with 2 yarn overs.

And then we come back and purl the 1st, 2nd and 3rd stitches in exactly the same way.

Here's what it looks like from the front:

We will always knit such cross rows from the wrong side, which means we knit purl stitches above the knit stitches, and knit stitches above the purl stitches.

2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS= 22 columns

Then we knit 10 regular double crochets, raglan and then until the end of the row, double crochets and raglans as usual.

6th, 7th and 8th rows knit as 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

First we knit the three top stitches:

and then those below them, starting from the farthest, from the outermost:

These are the braids you get:

9th row. We knit as the 5th row with crossed stitches.

2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS+1IRS+6LRS+1IRS+2LRS= 22 columns

Then a row with crossed columns, and again 3 rows - columns in order.

For the rest, as usual, we knit the back and sleeves with double crochet stitches and remember about raglan stitches (2 stitches in one base and a chain stitch between them).

So knit as many rows as needed.

I knitted it 10 centimeters long.

View from the back:

Knitting the main part of the sweater

Now you need to knit the undercuts for the sleeves.

We measure all the columns on the shelf - from one raglan air loop to another raglan air loop.

We also count the back posts. Now let's add these two numbers. I got 85 columns. from this number we calculate 8%. I got 6.8. I'll round down. It turned out to be 6 loops for each undercut.

Now I need to cast on 6 air loops on each side for the undercut. That is, on 2 sides under each sleeve. 6 on the left and 6 on the right.

We knit the back with double crochets until the first raglan, we do not knit the raglan, but cast on 6 chain stitches and insert the hook, joining the first stitch of the shelf.

Knitted the shelf:

We knit the front stitches to the next sleeve and again cast on 6 chain stitches, join the first back stitch and knit to the end of the row.

We finish with a connecting loop, cast on 3 lifting loops, unfold the knitting and knit a column over a column without any increase in the circle in turning rows.

We end each row with a connecting loop, and begin with 3 lifting loops.

So we knit as many rows as needed to reach the required length of the sweater.

We knit the last 3 rows with braids in columns in order. Like the 2nd, 3rd and 1st rows.

Knitting an elastic band

We will knit the elastic with knit and purl stitches, alternating them 1 through 1.

We cast on 3 lifting chain stitches and unfold the sweater right side out. It is better to knit the elastic from the front side of the sweater so that the pattern is uniform.

Now we knit not in rotating rows, but in circles. Each row we start with 3 lifting loops and end with a connecting loop.

We knit 5 rows of elastic.

Knitting a sleeve

Let's start knitting the sleeve from the middle of the undercut. Insert the hook into the center of the undercut and attach the thread, as in the photo:

We make 3 lifting loops and also knit double crochets in a circle in rotating rows.

Where the raglan loop is, we also knit 1 stitch into it.

Here we will make 4 decreases in every 3rd row. That is, we knitted 2 rows as usual, and at the beginning of the 3rd row we decreased:

We cast on 3 lifting loops, make the first unknitted stitch - we have 2 loops on the hook. We make a second uncrocheted stitch - we get 3 loops on the hook. Grab the working thread and pull it through these 3 loops together. This is a decrease.

We do this 4 times - 1 decrease in every 3rd row. Only 4 decreases.

Then we knit in circles in turning rows to the desired sleeve length.

Now we make an elastic band, as we knitted along the bottom of the sweater (see above).

A total of 5 rows of elastic were knitted.

We make a decrease in the last row. We knit the last 2 front stitches together, and skip the purl stitch between them without knitting.

We also knit the second sleeve.

We tie the neck

We start from the fold at the shoulder, that is, from the middle of the sleeve towards the back:

First we knit the transition:

connecting loop + 2 single crochets + 1 half double crochet + double crochet

for an adult size you will have to make a larger transition, more connecting posts, half columns for 2-3.

Unfold the knitting. We knit another row with the same transition.

Now we knit the elastic 1:1 with knit and purl stitches - as we knitted at the bottom of the sweater and on the sleeves.

Where is the raglan - we make a decrease: we skip concave column, do not knit, then knit as usual - 1 knit stitch, 1 purl stitch.

So we make decreases along the 4th lines of the raglan - until the end of the first row of elastic.

We knit 2 more rows of elastic without decreasing.

All that remains is to hide all the ends of the threads on the wrong side, as shown in the photo:

It is the same, but there are a lot of patterns with braids; they differ in the number of interlacing loops, the frequency and direction of their movement. Braids are created by crossing loops in knitting, double, triple braids, waves, chains and plaits. Embossed braids look expressive in any color, as long as the yarn is monochromatic.

Patterns with braids are mainly used for knitting warm clothes. There are many options for knitting sweaters, pullovers, sweaters and jackets decorated with patterns with braids; here is a selection of the most popular patterns on our site.

Vertical paths of intertwined braids are separated by a diamond pattern. The sleeve cuffs, collar and waistband are also decorated with braids.

Knitted as a separate piece, and on it beautiful pattern braids will decorate the shoulders.

Knitted with knitting needles and decorated with both simple vertical braids and complex weaves in the central part.

Knitted in a pattern along vertical tracks, they look like spikelets and beautifully converge in raglan lines.

It tightens the fabric, this effect is used to make the bottom of the sleeves and jacket flared.

With large braids around the waist it will enhance your figure.

Associated with beautiful braids along the sleeves.

Spectacular triple braids are woven together according to the pattern shown in the model.

With a braid pattern, you can style it in both a sporty and elegant style. Sports model make a golf collar knitted with an elastic band and the sleeves and bottom of the sweater are decorated with an elastic band.

The stand is knitted with a wide braid pattern, like on a jacket; the moved loops will hold the shape of the collar well, giving the model a strict look.
