What is hot styling. Cold versus hot styling: which is best for your hair? - for straightening

Hot hair styling.

Hot curling is performed using conventional or electric curling irons. Conventional curling irons are no different in design from the curling iron first used in 1871 by the French hairdresser Marseille. Currently, there is a whole set of forceps that differ only in the diameter and shape of the working part.
Hot styling. Hair styling with electric tongs is performed on dry and clean hair, since it is dangerous to use electric tongs with wet hair. And if a hairspray or other fixative was applied to the hair the day before, this will greatly damage the hair structure - they will lose their shine, will be dry and brittle.
Order of operations:
- separate the strand with a comb, grab it at the roots with tongs, place between the tongs roller and the clamp;
- warm up by moving the tongs along the entire length of the strand, and wind the hair on the roller of the tongs. In order not to burn the scalp, place a comb under the strand of hair that is being rolled at the moment.
- hold for 20 - 30 seconds and carefully pull the tongs out of the curl, slightly opening them;
- do this operation on all parts of the head where it is desirable to get curls;
- having received the curls-tubes, you can proceed to the final styling. Using, if necessary, blunting, fleece, hairpins, hairpins, etc.
- fix the hairstyle. (give a sketch of a picture page 47 fig. 3.6)
Hair styling with corrugated tongs. With the help of curling tongs, you can get various effects on straight hair, they can curl all hair or individual strands. Before styling, wash your hair, rinse with conditioner and blow dry, then apply styling fluid. You can apply a fixing agent before blow-drying.
The hair is separated in small strands and placed between the pliers. After warming up the hair for a few seconds, the tongs open and move along the strand to the next section. In this case, it is necessary to ensure that the plates fit snugly to the hair.
Corrugating tongs have a set of plates with different corrugation effect (shallow, deep, wide, narrow). The appearance of the corrugation will vary depending on the thickness of the strands being processed.
Hair styling with flat plate tongs... The purpose of this styling is to straighten the hair. After applying them, the hair becomes completely straight.
To achieve this effect, the hair should be washed, styled with a hairdryer, without drying it dry. Then the strands are pulled between the flat surfaces of the heated plates. Finally, wax or pomade is applied to the hair, and the hair is fixed with varnish.
It is undesirable to use a straightener on hair with a perm - this effect can worsen the hair structure and the beauty of the curl.
Electric Pliers Precautions.
The pliers must always be clean.
To avoid scalding scalp, the comb should be held between the forceps and the head. The comb itself should not be metal, as it can also heat up and burn the skin.
Do not overheat the pliers too much to avoid damaging your hair.
Do not inhale the smoke coming from electric tongs, as this is harmful to the lungs.
Keep the hot tongs in a safe place to avoid scalding your hands and dropping them.

Exercises for arm flexibility.
To make your arms more flexible and your fingers more flexible, you need to do simple exercises and massage. You can do them a couple of times a day. It is better to start with intensive rubbing of palms against each other, then rub the brushes and each finger separately, moving from the base to the tips. Clench your fingers into fists and unclench several times at a fast pace. Rotate with brushes 5-6 times, first in one direction, then in the other direction. Clasp your hands together and rotate your hands at the joints. Keeping your hands in the lock, turn them out with your palms away from you, then return them to their original position, repeat several times. Performing these exercises, as well as massage, will increase blood flow to the hands, increase the elasticity of the ligaments, and make the joints more mobile.

ⓅThe image of a woman is a puzzle. It develops into a general picture of individual elements - clothes and accessories, makeup and manicure, the selected scent. Styling is an integral part of this puzzle. How to style your hair so as not to harm their health? Let's deal with this issue together.

There are two styles of hair styling - cold and hot. The main difference is that hot styling uses electrical appliances, while cold styling uses hairdressing accessories and styling products.

Cold hair styling is considered more gentle, suitable for daily hair styling. In this case, the strands should be slightly damp. The use of styling products is also required. A wide selection of such products can be found by following the link https://eva.ua/024-104-226/sredstva-ukladki-volos.

The principle of cold styling is simple: using a comb or brush, curlers or other hairdressing accessories, the strands are laid and fixed in the desired position with hairspray, foam, mousse or other suitable means. This type of styling is suitable for soft hair, which does not require a lot of effort to "pacify".

With the help of cold technology, you can:

  • give curls a slight waviness with a comb and fingers and fix the effect with varnish;
  • make curls using papillotes, clips or curlers;
  • emphasize the grace of a short haircut using mousse, foam or gel;
  • select individual strands with your fingers on long straight hair or curls of medium length using oil, wax or styling gel.

Styling with hot air is considered the most effective, although it injures hair more than cold. Frequent use of a hair dryer, forceps, hot curlers, curling irons and straighteners leads to split ends, and in the worst case, excessive fragility and loss. Although there are a number of exceptional advantages in modeling hairstyles with a thermal method:

  • speed - you can do a neat styling yourself in just a few minutes;
  • shape retention - hot styled hair remains in the desired position much longer than when styling without using electrical appliances;
  • lightness - styling with a hair dryer, straightener and curling iron is easier than styling your hair using the cold method.

When styling with thermal devices, remember that hair must be protected from high temperatures and dry hot air. For this, special thermal protective sprays and fluids, emulsions and serums, as well as oils, masks and balms are suitable. You can choose the most suitable tool in the online store https://eva.ua/.

Some modern hair styling methods involve the use of tools such as a hairdryer, tongs, or a flat iron. They are very popular because they allow you to create a beautiful stylish look in a matter of minutes. Curling iron or tongs It is worth immediately clarifying that such a device requires certain skills. Therefore, you will have to practice creating a certain shape several times before you get the perfect result. In addition, like any methods involving thermal exposure, this one also requires the preliminary application of a thermal protective spray or cream. In any case, it is not recommended to use a curling iron too often.

Having placed a lock between the plates, wrap it around the device and leave it in this position for a few seconds. Keep it horizontal if you want classic curls. For spirals, place the device vertically. Holding it at an angle of 45 degrees, it will be possible to form oblique heaps that look original and stylish. For long-lasting results, do not straighten the curl after heating. Lock it in this position. When the latter has cooled down, carefully remove the clamps. Straighten with your hands and sprinkle with varnish.

SECTION 2 HAIRDRESSING TECHNOLOGIES USED IN THE HAIRDRESSER-SALON "IDEAL" WHEN PERFORMING A SPIRAL CHEMICAL CURL IN THE MIDDLE HAIR

The technology of performing a spiral perm on medium hair length

Perm procedure (see APPENDIX B)

The hairdresser carefully examines the hair and scalp before curling, selects the appropriate preparation, determines the structure and quality of the hair. At this stage, it is important to correctly determine the type of previous hair treatment and the method of applying the chemical composition.

Washes hair with deep cleansing shampoo, while not massaging the scalp - this further allows you to slightly open the hair scales and accelerate the process of penetration of the chemical.

A lock of hair is separated in the form of a square (starting from the lower occipital zone), twisted into a bundle and wound in a spiral onto a bobbin. In this case, the turns of the spiral are placed close to each other. The direction of twisting of the bundle and the direction of winding on the bobbin must match. Having finished winding up the entire mass of hair, apply the composition, carefully working over each bobbin with a foam sponge. Finally, put on the plastic cap.

The exposure time is determined empirically; for this, four bobbins are unwound in each head zone and the result of the composition is checked. If the curl is firm enough and keeps its shape, you can proceed to the next stage. Rinse your hair (without removing the bobbins) with warm running water. The procedure should take place within 5-7 minutes.

For fixing, hydrogen peroxide is used in a concentration of 3-5%, in order for the composition to gain viscosity, add a small amount of shampoo. Foam the preparation with a sponge and process each bobbin. After 7-10 minutes, you can start unwinding the curlers. After removing all the bobbins, reapply the fixer. After 5 minutes, rinse your hair with clean water without any cosmetic cleansing products. Neutralizing curling chemicals have a pH ranging from 8.5-9.5 and act like an alkali. A small amount of the product on the hair leads to their destruction. As practice shows, even thorough and repeated rinsing of hair with running water does not completely get rid of the alkaline effect.

The neutralization stage involves the use of a weak solution of citric or acetic acid, in which hydrogen ions H + predominate. The higher their concentration in the solution, the lower the pH of the medium.

OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH

One of the points of safety regulations is the organization of the workplace. On the master's desktop, disinfectants are located on the left, and on the right - working tools, in the sequence in which they will be needed. The power tools are in the drawers of the nightstand.

The cleanliness and tidiness of the master himself is very important (clean hands, without rings, bracelets, watches), the instrument is disinfected, impeccably clean linen and a protective peignoir.

When performing a hairstyle, a number of services were performed using a cutting tool (straight and thinning scissors), power tools (handheld hair dryer, electric tongs), equipment (sterilizer), when working with which you need to be very careful and attentive.

Tools and fixtures must be clean, which requires hygienic and ethical standards. Instruments can be disinfected using ultraviolet sterilization, quartz sterilizers and high pressure sterilizers.

When working with hot water, be sure to monitor its temperature.

Disinfect the instrument in a timely manner.

In order to prevent tools from becoming a source of infection, they must be periodically decontaminated. There are two types of disinfection:

Sterilization and disinfection.

Sterilization is the most effective way to kill bacteria using high heat. To do this, use a box, tightly closed - an autoclave.

Disinfection is the destruction of bacteria using special solutions - disinfectants. Some of them have only bactericidal properties (destroy bacteria), others - fungicidal (destroy fungi), and still others have both qualities.

Disinfection methods are carried out using mechanical, thermal and radiation means.

Mechanical means remove, but not kill, microorganisms. These are cleaning, wiping, washing, washing, shaking out, sweeping, airing. When using a vacuum cleaner, up to 98% of microorganisms are removed. Ventilation is effective enough when its duration is not less than 30-60 minutes.

Thermal means are based on the use of high and low temperatures, namely: hot air, water vapor, boiling, pasteurization, incineration, burning, freezing, drying. Ironing is a disinfectant, but it works primarily superficially. Freezing does not lead to the death of microorganisms, but leads to a decrease in their number over time.

Drying for a long time leads to the death of a large number of microbes.

Chemical disinfection methods are widely used in practice. They are based on the use of various chemicals that kill microorganisms. Chemicals have different effects on microorganisms:

Bactericidal - the ability to kill bacteria;

Bactriostatic - suppress their vital activity;

Virucidnu - the ability to kill viruses;

Fungicide - the ability to kill fungi.

Among chemical disinfectants, there are mild disinfectants used to disinfect the skin of hands, clothes, linen, and strong disinfectants used to disinfect highly contaminated materials.

For cuts, apply hemostatic agents.

When dyeing hair and other work with a chemical composition, be sure to use rubber gloves.

A first aid kit and instructions for providing first aid to victims should be available.

When using cutting tools, you must:

Store closed in a special case or case;

Do not pass openly and only rings forward;

Do not store them in pockets;

Use only as directed.

When working with a power tool, you must:

Check the serviceability of the tool and the integrity of the cord before work;

If any malfunctions are found, the work should be suspended until they are eliminated;

Do not handle the instrument with wet hands;

Do not connect to a network not intended for electrical appliances;

When changing the attachments in the electric pliers, disconnect from the mains voltage.

prohibited:

Disassemble the power tool and make any repairs yourself;

Use to clean tools with heating elements with alcohol or substances that contain it;

Do not store flammable and combustible substances in the immediate vicinity of heating devices;

Even in case of short-term leaving the workplace, it is necessary to turn off the local lighting and electrical appliances;

All electric heaters must have fireproof supports.

When using hair treatment products and decorative cosmetics, it is imperative to check their expiration date, and in no case use expired products.

STUDENT'S CONCLUSIONS ABOUT PRODUCTION TRAINING

During my practical training at the Ideal hairdressing salon, I realized that a hairdresser is a real artist who works on each person as on his own canvas. Every person wants to look more beautiful, and hair is the best decoration for a woman. By changing your hairstyle, you can change your style, your image, transform your appearance. The role of the hairdresser in creating the overall harmony of the lines, taking into account the individuality of the client, is sometimes decisive. I completed an internship in a hairdressing salon in order to ensure a direct connection between training and professional activity.

Deepened and expanded theoretical knowledge, consolidated practical skills and abilities. She studied the activities of a hairdressing salon, learned how to quickly and almost accurately perform hairdressing services, taking into account the rules and requirements for their implementation. She consolidated the practical skills of a hairdresser, worked out technological methods.

APPENDIX B

The technology of performing a spiral perm on medium hair length

Hair styling is called curling them for a short time. Hair styling consists of various operations with which hairstyles of any shape and pattern are performed.

Styling is done in several ways: blow-dry, tongs (hot styling), curlers and clamps, and cold styling with a comb and fingers.

Hair styling with a hairdryer It is widely used not only in women's but also in men's hairstyles. If your hair is short, a hairdryer will help to give your hair the desired shape.

Before blow-drying, you need to apply a fixative to your hair. Grab the ends of the hair and pull back, directing the air stream tangentially to the head from the roots to the ends of the hair. Pull short hair vertically relative to the surface of the head. Use your fingers or a comb to wrap the ends of the hair according to their direction in the hairstyle. When using a hair dryer, the strands of hair are pulled back with an ordinary comb or brush (Fig. 270, a).

Figure: 270. Hair Styling

Hair styling with a brush and a hairdryer should be started from the parietal zone of the head or from the parting, if any. The brush must be kept parallel to the parting, grabbing a strand of it, then lifting it at the roots and turning it slightly towards yourself. Move the brush away from the parting and at the same time along it to the right or left. Direct the air stream under the brush from the side of the parting. Dry hair gradually along the brush. Do this several times until the desired shape is obtained. Next, process the rest of the head. If the hair is styled with a comb and hairdryer, then the comb must be held in the left hand perpendicular to the strand, then insert the teeth of the comb into the hair at a distance of 2-3 cm from the root and move it slightly to the right. The first wave will turn out.

Turn the comb with the teeth up, take it towards you and blow dry your hair with a stream of air, directing it to the left. Repeat the operation, but vice versa. Next, process the rest of the head in this way.

It is best to use a hair dryer with adjustable airflow. After blow-drying for crisp waves and curls, the hair can be treated with tongs and set with varnish.

Hair styling with tongs, or hot styling, is performed only on dry and clean hair, since it is dangerous to use electric tongs on wet hair, and if a hairspray or other fixative was applied to the hair the day before, this will greatly damage the hair structure. Hair will lose its shine, dry and brittle.

Separate the strand with a comb, grab it at the hair root with tongs, place between the tongs roller and the clamp, warm up by moving the tongs along the entire length of the strand, and wind the hair on the tongs roller. Soak for 20-30 seconds and carefully pull the tongs out of the curl. In order not to burn the scalp, it is necessary to put a comb under the strand of hair, which is being rolled up at the moment (Fig. 270, b).

Perform this operation on all parts of the head where it is desirable to get curls.

Having received the curls, you can proceed to the final styling, applying, if necessary, blunting, pile, using hairpins, hairpins, etc. Fix the hairstyle with varnish.

It should be noted that the daily use of forceps is not recommended, as the hair is very dry and breakable.

Hair styling with curlers and clips lasts for a longer time than all other styling.

Now there are curlers of the most various designs, different diameters, sizes and with different fastening methods. The hair is always wound perpendicular to the surface of the curler, pressing it tightly against the scalp. Curlers are wound from the middle of the head, from front to back (Fig. 271).

Figure: 271. Hair styling with curlers

The location of the curlers and clips, as well as the direction of their winding, affects the pattern of the hairstyle. There can be many options for combining curlers, clips and straight hair when performing model hairstyles.

After winding it on curlers, dry the hair. It is not recommended to unwind the curlers immediately after drying, it is necessary to let the hair cool for 10-15 minutes.

Then you need to remove the curlers and comb the curls, starting from the back of the head and moving up, giving them their final shape. If necessary, fix the hairstyle with varnish.

Cold styling hair with a comb and fingers has been used for a very long time. This styling does not harm your hair.

Moisten hair with styling fixer and comb thoroughly from the forehead back. If there is a parting, then comb from the parting in the direction of hair distribution in the styling.

Insert the comb near the hairline with the forehead or parting and move the comb to the side. The first wave will turn out. Hold the comb in your right hand.

Use the index finger or the edge of the palm and the little finger of your left hand to press the half-wave hair along the comb to the scalp. Move the comb forward in your hair and move it in the opposite direction without removing your hand (Fig. 272, a).

Figure: 272. Hair Styling

Remove the left hand from the half-wave strand to be pressed and press the second half. One wave will turn out. Then again with the left hand press the half-wave hair along the comb to the scalp, move the comb to the side. You will get the third half-wave, and so on. Move the comb back and forth and press the hair with your hand until you get the required number of waves.

Having laid one section in waves, move on to another and so finish styling the hair of the entire head. To prevent the waves from shifting, they are fixed with clips and hairpins, but care must be taken not to leave hair breaks.

For very short hair on the back of the head, styling can be done in the form of flat rings (Fig. 272, b). Fix the rings with one or two thin hairpins, clips, invisible hairpins, but so that the hair does not break.

When styling hair in a hairstyle, the method of combing strands or their blunts.

Combing hair is done over the entire width and thickness of the strand. The comb moves from the end of the strand to the roots (fig. 273). The teeth of the comb pierce the strand through. You can brush on both sides of the strand by holding the end with your fingers.

Figure: 273. Dull Hair

Blunting is part of the fleece, as it is done only from the inside of the strand. The strand is pulled in the direction that it will take in the hair. The comb does not pierce the strand through, but whips it from the inside.

After dulling and combing, the strands can be smoothed with a brush or comb from the outside and laid on the head in the hair. Fix with varnish or other means.

Hair Styling - This is a perm for a short time, as a result of which the structure of the hair changes. It consists of several operations with which hairstyles of various shapes and patterns are performed. The duration of the styling depends on:

ü hair structure;

ü their elasticity and elasticity;

ü selected tools and devices;

ü modeling tool;

ü weather conditions

According to the method of making hairstyles, styling can be:

  1. Cold styling (styling with a comb and fingers).
  2. Air styling (styling with a brush and hair dryer).
  3. Hot styling (styling with electric tongs and curlers).
  4. Combined styling (styling that combines 2 or more ways).

Cold styling hair has been used for a very long time. One of the advantages of this method is its harmlessness. Hair with this method of styling is not injured, since it is not subjected to high-temperature and chemical treatment. It is even possible, on the contrary, to improve the condition of the hair, if high-quality traditional compositions of plant origin or new modern means, specially designed for this purpose and containing herbal, mineral and other useful additives, are used to fix the styling.

The cold styling method allows you to diversify the composition of the hairstyle, since in this case, using different combinations of individual elements (for example, the types and sizes of waves), the hairdresser can create various forms of hairstyle, change its pattern.

When styling with a cold method, hair strands, pre-treated with a special fixing agent, are styled with the help of hands and a comb. Laying done in this way, also called "finger-laying", does not last long.

The procedure for performing cold hair styling depends on the originally conceived form of the hairstyle, its drawing (sketch) and other factors. For example, in the process of forming individual elements that make up a hairstyle, aerosol hair sprays can be used for the intermediate attachment of waves, strands. This technique, helping to gradually complete the hairstyle drawing, allows you to create a certain shape. The shape of a cold-styled hairstyle will be better preserved if you use a special mesh when drying your hair. After drying, the mesh is removed, and the hair is shaped into a hairstyle with a comb, giving it splendor and naturalness. The final shape of the hairstyle is fixed with hairspray.

Depending on the shape of the hairstyle, the elements of its constituents, the individual characteristics of the hair and some other factors, the order of styling may vary. The professional skills and creativity of the hairdresser play a huge role here.

Distinctive features of modern cold styling:

  1. A combination of several types of waves (straight, oblique, transverse) is possible in a hairstyle.
  2. The shape of the hairstyle is made up of waves of different widths.
  3. Using a non-classical way of connecting waves.
  4. Using a curly parting.
  5. Use of decorative additions of modern stylized forms to design a hairstyle.
  6. The use of a variety of modeling agents produced by domestic and foreign perfumery and cosmetic companies.

The most common element of a hairstyle that is performed in a cold way is a wave (a smooth bend of the hair, limited by crowns on both sides). They have distinctive features depending on the location, size and method of implementation.

Technological features of the implementation " straight wave»Are as follows: the waves are parallel to the parting. The first crown from the larger side from the parting reaches the end of the parting and ends there. The second crown from the larger side from the parting goes to join with the first crown from the smaller side from the parting (Fig. 1). When doing the hairstyle, use a combined large comb and hair fixer.

Laying is done in the following order:

2. Then the composition for styling is evenly applied to them and parting is carried out, which determines the direction of the future wave.

3. The first wave is performed on the larger side of the parting. This is a reverse wave.

4. Further, stepping back 2 - 3 cm from the parting, the index finger of the left hand is placed on the formed wave. A comb is inserted perpendicular to the finger into the hair and shifted away from the face by 1-1.5 cm.Then the comb is deflected towards itself and the formed crown is clamped with the index and middle fingers of the left hand, after which the hair is taken with the comb in the opposite direction and smoothed with a butt. This is how the second - protruding wave from the larger side of the parting is obtained.

5. Gradually moving in this way to the highest point of the head (crown), perform the first crown, which ends at the end of the parting.

6. Similarly, perform the second crown on the larger side of the parting.

7. The peculiarity of performing the above techniques is that the hair must be combed away from the face to form a backward wave on the larger side of the parting.

8. The second crown from the larger side of the parting passes through the crown and joins with the first crown formed on the smaller side of the parting. Successively repeating the considered methods of styling, they complete the "Straight waves" hairstyle.

9. From the larger side, protruding waves are visible - frontal, temporal, buccal, and from the smaller side from the parting - only the temporal and buccal.

10. In the area of \u200b\u200bthe auricles, in order to avoid damage to them, the waves must be performed with special care and caution.

11. Styling very short hair in the nape can be done with the formation of individual strands 1.5 or 2 cm wide flat rings. With the help of the thumb and forefinger, the strands are twisted in one direction or the other and fixed with clamps or hairpins. Thus, clear waves are obtained, complementing the overall composition of the hairstyle.

12. If the hair in the back of the head is very long, they can be arranged in the form of ring curls and secured with papillotes.

Features of styling with respect to parting: the composition of such a hairstyle is characterized by the fact that oblique waves are located on the larger side of the parting, and straight waves on the smaller side.

Styling "Oblique wave" is executed in the following order:

1. First, the hair is combed thoroughly.

2. Then a fixing composition for hair styling is evenly applied to them and a side parting is carried out.

3. Using the techniques described for styling "Straight hair", perform the first (preparatory) wave and get the first crown from the larger side of the parting. This crown is placed at an angle of 45 ° with respect to the parting and is directed to the first third of the parting.

4. Then, on the larger side of the parting, a protruding wave is performed and the second crown directed to the second third of the parting.

5. The third crown to be performed is directed to the end of the parting.

6. The fourth crown from the larger side of the parting is connected to the first crown from the smaller side.

Air styling.Hairstyles from short hair are more luxuriant and last longer if you moisten the hair at the roots with gel, varnish or foam before styling with a hairdryer. It is convenient to style hair of any length with a hairdryer.

When styling with a hairdryer, it is necessary to dry the hair very carefully and at the same time try not to allow the dried strands to come into contact with the wet ones. You should also clearly work out all the details of the hairstyle and, while creating volume, strictly ensure that the air jet does not burn the skin.

After styling with a hairdryer, comb the hair only with a combined comb or a comb with an ordinary handle. When styling hair using a hairdryer, depending on the length of the hair, use a comb, as well as a round or flat brush.

Low volume hairstyle with a flat brush.

Flat brushes are designed to lift hair at the roots, i.e. creating the shape of the hairstyle. This method of styling, called "bombing", is used in men's and women's halls when performing evening and model hairstyles.

  1. When styling with a hairdryer using a flat brush (Fig. 1), you first need to comb the hair and outline the direction of the main lines of the future hairstyle. Then, holding the brush with the teeth down, it is inserted into the strand of hair from the inside. And they start laying from the lower occipital zone. Hair Drying Techniques with a Flat Brush
  2. Having grabbed the strand with a brush, it is slightly raised up, while the hair should be pulled by the first row of brush teeth, facing inward of the strand.
  3. Next, a stream of air is directed to the strand, fixing the hair formed by the wrinkle. The strand to be treated should remain on the brush until it dries completely. Then the end of this strand with a brush and a hairdryer is pulled in the direction of the lines of the intended hairstyle, after which the brush is removed from the dried strand of hair.
  4. All hair is treated similarly, gradually moving from the occipital zone to the frontal zone.

Hair styling with a round brush

Use a round brush and hair dryer to shape the ends of the hair.

This styling method is called "brushing" and is used in the women's gym. The laying technology is as follows.

  1. The brush is inserted into the hair strand from the inside. Moreover, styling begins with the parietal zone.
  2. Then, the strand captured by the brush is pulled in the direction opposite to the comb of the hair of the future hairstyle, and, by directing a stream of hot air to the root part of the strand, it is dried.
  3. Further, the brush is advanced, unfolding it constantly downward. Smoothly bending the end of the strand and drying it, change the direction of the air stream, i.e. allow the strands to cool on the brush.
  4. Pulling out the brush from the cooled strand, the hair is similarly styled on all parts of the head where the hairstyle should have an increased volume.

Performing a wave with a flat brush and comb

The technology of performing a wave with a hair dryer using a flat brush and a comb is as follows.

  1. Holding the separated strand of hair with a comb directed perpendicular to the head, brush teeth are inserted into it and, grabbing the hair two or three fingers wide, slightly move the strand to the right. In this case, the first wave is formed.
  2. Then, turning the brush and lifting the hair at the roots, dry the raised strand with a stream of air directed to the left. Figure: 2. Waves performed by a hairdryer.
  3. The second wave is performed in a similar way, only changing the direction of movement of the brush and the flow of hot air, that is, the brush is moved to the left by 1 cm and turned towards itself, and the hair is dried with an air flow directed to the right side.
  4. Laying the waves begins from the parietal zone of the head or from the parting. The brush is kept parallel to the head. Having grabbed the next strand, the hair is lifted at the roots and slightly turned towards itself, after which they move the brush away from the parting and gradually dry the hair along it. This technique is repeated several times, giving the hair the desired shape.
  5. Long strands can be wrapped around a round brush, drying each strand first from the outside and then from the inside. In this case, the brush is held in the left hand and, grabbing a strand, slightly scroll the brush, as a result of which the hair is well fixed on it, and takes the shape of a curl. In this case, the styled hair bends down beautifully, giving the impression of a natural wave (Fig. 2).

Techniques for performing the main elements of this styling (crowns, waves) are also similar to the techniques used for laying the "straight wave". A distinctive feature of the composition of this hairstyle is the perpendicular arrangement of the waves in relation to the imaginary parting. The technological peculiarity of such laying is that the waves are performed without connection. The waves located at the face are narrow, and then, in the occipital zone, they gradually widen.

Hair styling done with a curler lasts much longer than using a hair dryer.

Styling with curlers is recommended in cases where the hair is porous, which means it quickly absorbs moisture and quickly becomes dry, and if it is pliable and elastic. If the hair has a structure with increased elasticity and has a tendency to "stick out" with strands up to 5 cm long, then it is better to first subject such hair to chemical treatment (perm).

The beauty and naturalness of a hairstyle laid on curlers always depends on the winding technique and the type of curlers.

When using thin curlers, the curls will always be small and elastic, while the hairstyle will last long enough.

The use of medium curlers on short hair (Fig. 1) allows you to give the hair a splendor and volume, on medium hair it allows you to get large waviness, and on long hair - soft waves.

Figure: 1. Styling short hair with medium curlers

Large curlers are used only for curling long and semi-long hair to give the hair volume and shape (Fig. 2).

Figure: 2. Curling hair of medium length on large curlers (a) and the resulting hairstyle (b)

Thus, the volume of the hairstyle depends on the size of the curlers: the smaller they are, the more volume, and vice versa. Wet or moistened hair with a styling compound is always wrapped on curlers.

Before winding on curlers, the hair is divided into zones in accordance with the selected winding scheme. Some of the cheat schemes are shown in Fig. 3-5.

2. Having lifted the strand, it must be positioned approximately at an angle of 45 ° to the surface of the head (ie, pull it back), and then wrap the tip of the strand around the curlers. Then, holding the end of the strand, with the thumbs and forefingers of both hands, rotate the curlers so that the hair is evenly distributed over their entire length, and fix the strands with an elastic band or hairpin, depending on the design.

3. After all the hair is rolled up, it is necessary to put on a special mesh on them and put the client under the dryer. After some time, the master should check if the hair has dried well. If the hair is not completely dried, then the hairstyle will not retain its shape for a long time. However, dry hair also does not contribute to long-term styling. For better fixation of the curls, before unwinding the curlers, you must let them cool down.

4. Roll up the curlers from the lower occipital zone so that the hair does not get tangled.

5. Then proceed to combing the hair, which is a very important stage of styling. The resulting curls are gently combed with two brushes, starting from the ends, and at the same time pulling them off.

7. For a smoother look, you can use styling gel or wax.

8. For a longer preservation of volume, the hairstyle is fixed with varnish.

Hot styling. Hot curling is used much less often than other traditional methods of hair styling, i.e. hair styling with the use of electric tongs.

This styling is more suitable for long, straight or slightly curly hair, cut in cascade or the same length. Moreover, to style thin hair, you need to take a curling iron with a small diameter - then the curling will be elastic and long-lasting.

The strands are spirally wound on tongs. It is best to use mousse to protect hair from hot exposure.

Combined stylingcharacterized by a combination of different styling methods.
