Cut the wound threads, secure the threads from the middle with thread and remove the cardboard. You can do it another way: wrap the thread around your finger and cut the threads on one side, and secure the other side with thread. Glue the pompom to the hat.

Nose

Everyone knows that a snowman's nose is a carrot, so you will need reddish yarn. The nose is knitted like this: cast on a chain of 3 stitches and knit in the round, at the end shorten the stitches so that the nose looks like a carrot. There is no need to fill the nose with padding polyester; it holds its shape perfectly.

I didn’t take a photo of this moment. But, everything is simple here.

Assembly

When all the parts for the snowman are ready, we can start assembling, for this we will need a glue gun.

Collecting a snowman

Glue the straps to the body, then glue the straps and buttons.

Collecting a snowman

Glue a hat to the head, glue handles, scarf, nose and eyes. Use red yarn to make a mouth for a snowman.

A crocheted snowman, the diagram and description of which is in the collections of many needlewomen, can be made in two ways. The first and simplest option is flat applique. The second method is more interesting and is suitable for craftswomen who already know how to knit voluminous balls.

Preparing materials for the snowman applique

This type of snowman is flat, so it can be used in several ways: hang it on a Christmas tree, stick it on a card, or frame it like a picture.

So, you will need the following materials:

  • white yarn;
  • some red and black threads;
  • crochet hook;
  • needle;
  • decorative details as desired.

We knit the base of the snowman applique

First, knit two circles with diameters of seven and five centimeters. This is the torso and head, which will then be sewn together to make a snowman, crochet. A description of this process is provided below if you are not sure how to do it correctly:

  1. Cast on a chain of three chain stitches. Make a circle from the center in a spiral. Work two single crochets into each stitch. Continue until you have a circle of the desired diameter. Secure the last loop with a hook, cut the yarn, leaving a two-centimeter tip. Hide it in a craft, securing it sewing threads. Knit another circle in the same way.
  2. On the head, embroider the eyes and mouth with black threads, and the nose with red threads. Imitate buttons on the body. To do this, use black thread to embroider small dots on top of each other. Maintain a half-centimeter interval. These details do not need to be embroidered with thread. You can attach beautiful buttons or beads of a suitable size.

You can knit a snowman using any pattern you like. For example, use the circle pattern presented in the article.

How to make a scarf and top hat

A crocheted snowman will look unfinished without a hat and scarf. Therefore, they must be done.

To make a cylinder, take black yarn and continue:

  • Make a chain of nine loops.
  • Knit a row with single crochets.
  • Make the second row in the same way, but in the opposite direction.
  • Fasten the thread, cut it and hide it in your work.
  • Using the same black threads, continue to make the third row from the third loop. It also consists of single crochets.
  • Do not knit the last two stitches.
  • Make about five more rows in the same way.
  • Secure the thread with a hook, cut it, and hide the end in the knitting.

The cylinder is ready. Now take care of the scarf. It's even easier to make it:

  • Using red yarn, cast on loops until you get a length of fifteen centimeters.
  • Using single crochets, knit several rows.
  • Fasten the thread, cut it, and hide the end.

Now the crocheted snowman has a scarf.

Assembling parts into a snowman

Use sewing thread to connect the body and head. Do this carefully. Sew a cylinder to the top circle. Wrap the scarf around your neck, placing one end on top of the other. Secure with a needle using red thread.

If you wish, you can make handles for the snowman. For example, if you want to put something in them: a broom or a gift. Simply tie simple chains of air loops to the desired length, then sew to the body. Your snowman is ready!

What materials are needed for a three-dimensional snowman?

To make the snowman three-dimensional, collect certain materials:

  • A little yarn in white, red and black.
  • A hook suitable for the thickness of the thread.
  • Needle for stitching.
  • Threads to match the yarn.
  • Cotton wool or padding polyester for filling.

From these affordable materials you will make a wonderful crocheted snowman. The photo in the article shows what it might look like.

We knit parts of the body

Knitting a three-dimensional snowman is based on one principle. You need to make two or three balls, which will be the head and body. Determine their quantity according to your taste.

Let's start knitting balls:

  1. Make a small chain of three chain stitches. Lock it in a ring.
  2. Now you need to knit single crochets into it in a circle. Make fifteen identical rows in this way.
  3. Fill the ball with padding polyester or cotton wool.
  4. Knit three more rows with single crochets. Don't forget to gradually decrease the stitches. This is important, otherwise the ball will not come out.
  5. In the last row, bind off all the loops, fasten and cut the thread. Hide the tip in the knitting.

Now the snowman's body is ready. Now we will create the upper part of the body - the head:

  1. Make a chain of two air loops and close it into a ring.
  2. Continue single crochet in circular knitting.
  3. Perform it according to the same pattern as in the case of the lower torso.
  4. Carefully sew the head and body together with threads.

Crocheted snowmen can be made in this simple way. You can experiment with the schemes and you will get different characters. For example, try taking as a basis openwork pattern shown in the picture.

Adding details

A flat cap will not work for a bulky snowman. Therefore, let's consider another way to knit it:

  • Make a chain of three air loops.
  • In circular rows, knit to the desired length using single crochets.
  • Give the cap a side. To do this, in the last row you need to knit two single crochets through the loop.
  • Fasten and cut the thread. Hide the tip in the product.

To knit a scarf, cast on sixteen chain stitches. Work one row of single crochets. Cut the end of the yarn, fasten and hide it in your work. Using colored threads, make the snowman's eyes, nose, mouth and buttons on the body. Here you go volumetric snowman! If you wish, you can decorate it with other details.

Crocheted snowman toys look more interesting when they are voluminous. If such a craft is difficult for you, make a flat applique. It's simpler and no worse.

Winter will soon come and everyone’s favorite holiday, New Year. And this perfect occasion tie. For example, knitting snowmen to decorate the interior or simply as a gift to family and friends. We’ll tell you how to do this later.

Now we will present to your attention several options for snowmen. This is how you can knit these snowmen in berets. A bright accent will be a scarf and pompom in the same color.

Snowman knitted pattern

In fact, it is not difficult to knit a snowman. This can be done with crochet and knitting. Now we will give both examples, and you will only have to choose the most suitable option for yourself.

crochet snowman pattern

Most crocheted toys are crocheted in the round. Which greatly simplifies the task. You need to start working with the so-called amigurumi ring. An embodiment is shown in the following figure.

This method is also called the “magic ring”. In fact this is the most the best option By casting on the loops and tightening the thread, you will get a tightly closed circle without a hole in the middle. Next we knit according to the pattern below.

Each circle must be closed connecting post. The number of increases is also easy to remember; in each subsequent row there should be 6 more single crochets than in the previous one. When you get the desired diameter of the circle, you should stop increasing and knit 7 rows. After this, we begin decreasing the loops in the same way as increasing. It should look like this.

Now we stuff the part and close the hole. The head is knitted in the same way, only the number of loops will be less. To finish the snowmen you will need to knit arms, nose, legs and of course a hat and scarf.

Video crocheting a snowman

To make it more clear to you, we suggest you watch the video. It talks about crocheting a snowman.

Knitting a snowman with knitting needles master class

Knitting a snowman with knitting needles is also not difficult, and you can make it unusual. Braids and aranas are very popular, so you can knit a three-dimensional pattern on the snowman’s body.

To work you will need:

  • toe knitting needles;
  • yarn of white, blue and gray-blue colors.

Let's begin. On three knitting needles we cast on an equal number of loops - 16. On the knitting needle where the braid will be knitted there should be a couple of loops more - 18 (equal to the pattern report). We close the circle, to do this we cast on another loop and then knit the extra loop together with the loop of the first knitting needle. Now we continue working in a circle. On three knitting needles we knit with facial loops. Now we have reached the knitting needle on which we will knit the braid according to the following pattern.

Let's start knitting the pattern. We knit two loops purlwise. Then we remove one loop onto a pin and leave it before knitting. We knit the next loop and return the loop from the pin to the left knitting needle, after which we knit the front one. We knit one loop purlwise, then knit 8 stitches. Then purl one. We remove one front one onto a pin and leave it for knitting. We knit the next stitch and return the removed loop to the left knitting needle and knit it. It remains to knit two purl loops. We knit knit stitches on three knitting needles.

We knit the next row of the pattern like this:

  • purl two;
  • two facial ones;
  • one purl;
  • eight facial;
  • one purl;
  • two facial ones;
  • purl two.

Again knit stitches on 3 needles.

Third row of pattern:

  • purl two;
  • we remove one front loop on a pin and leave it before knitting, knit the next front loop and return the removed loop to the left knitting needle and knit the front one;
  • purl loop;
  • we remove two loops on a pin before work, knit the next two loops, return the removed loops to the knitting needle and knit them, remove two loops and leave them for knitting, knit the next loops. Return the stitches from the pin to the knitting needles and knit them.
  • purl loop;
  • we remove the front loop at work and knit the next one, return the loop and knit with the face;
  • two purl loops.

In this way we knit 8 rows of braids (pattern report). When the number of rows becomes equal to 31, you need to move on to decreases. Starting from the 32nd row on a knitting needle with a braid, we decrease the outermost purl loops by knitting them together. On each subsequent knitting needle we also knit the outer loops, two together. Thus, the number of loops will decrease by 6. From the 33rd row, we knit on all knitting needles with facial loops, continuing to decrease. This way, 54 stitches will remain on the knitting needles. We knit 10 rows and proceed to knitting the slope under the cap. To do this, we knit from the front, leaving the back of the head. We knit all the loops on the front knitting needle, and leave the last couple of loops on the side knitting needles. We continue to work, decreasing the loops until two knitted loops remain on the side knitting needles. Now we take a thread of a different color and knit a hat for the future snowman, alternating rows of knit and purl stitches. Having knitted 20 rows, we switch to elastic. We knit it alternating 2 purl and 2 knit stitches. We knit another 20 rows and bind off the loops. All that remains is to assemble the snowman. The bottom can be made by cutting out a circle from thick fabric and sewing it on. Now you need to fill the toy with filler. Let's create the face. We sew on the eyes, the nose – a carrot. If desired, you can embroider the mouth. The end result is this cute snowman.

Step-by-step instructions for knitting a snowman

Now we’ll tell you how to knit a cheerful snowman with knitting needles.

To work you will need:

  • sock knitting needles 5 pieces;
  • white yarn for the body;
  • a little bit of red and orange threads.

The body and head are knitted in one piece, which makes our task easier. Knitting will go in the round and can be done on either four or five knitting needles. Let's get started:
1. on a knitting needle we cast on 18 loops on three knitting needles;
2. Next we knit increases in rows 2, 4,6,8, add 6 loops each, odd rows (3,5,7,9) are knitted without increases. In other words, after the row with an increase, we knit a simple row.
3. from 10 to 39 row we knit with facial loops (the number of loops will be 42);
4. in the 40th row we decrease 6 loops, knitting two together;
5. from 41 to 60 rows we knit without decreases;
6. from rows 61 to 64 we make 6 decreases in each row;
7. As a result, there will be 12 loops left on the knitting needles;
8. cut the thread and thread it through the loops with a needle, tighten the hole;
9. stuff the body with synthetic down;
10. at the 40th row level, we tighten the body to visually separate the head from the body;

11. Now you need to tie your hands; to do this, cast on six loops on the knitting needles and knit them alternating 2 purl and 2 knit stitches, then fold them in half and stitch them;

12. move on to the mittens, cast on 12 stitches on a knitting needle and divide them into three knitting needles, from rows 1 to 5 we alternate a row of knit and purl stitches, from rows 6 to 13 we knit with the face, from rows 14 to 16 we decrease 3 loops in each row and we tighten it, we knit the second one in the same way, it is more convenient to crochet the finger;

13. for the nose, you need to cast on 6 loops and distribute them on 3 knitting needles, then knit 5 rows with stockinette stitch, and in the sixth row make three decreases, tighten the remaining loops.

Now all that remains is to fill the mittens a little and sew them to the hands. We sew the arms under the snowman's head. Now we sew on the nose and eyes. You can put a decorative bucket on your head or knit a hat with a scarf. That's it, our positive snowman is ready.

Top part

Adding loops

Row 48: * 2 single crochets in 1 loop, 2 single crochets * - repeat 6 times (24);

Row 49: * 2 single crochets in 1 loop, 3 single crochets * - repeat 6 times (30);

Row 50: * 2 single crochets in 1 loop, 4 single crochets * - repeat 6 times (36);

Row 51: * 2 single crochets in 1 loop, 5 single crochets * - repeat 6 times (42);

from 52 to 58 row: We knit without increments, in each row there are 42 single crochets.

Fill the middle part of the snowman with filler.

We fill the upper part with filler as we knit.

Decrease loops

Row 59: * 5 single crochets, 2 single crochets with one top * - repeat 6 times (36);

Row 60: *4 single crochets, 2 single crochets with one top* - repeat 6 times (30);

Row 61: * 3 single crochets, 2 single crochets with one top * - repeat 6 times (24);

Row 62: * 2 single crochets, 2 single crochets with one top * - repeat 6 times (18);

Row 63: * 1 single crochet, 2 single crochets with one top * - repeat 6 times (12);

Row 64: * 2 single crochets with one top * - repeat 6 times (6).

We pull the remaining loops onto a thread, fasten and seal the ends.

Hands

We start knitting from the bottom, from the mittens, with red thread.

1st row: 6 single crochets in a sliding loop (6);

2nd row: * 2 single crochets in each loop * - repeat 6 times (12);

3rd row: we knit without increases (12);

4th row: * 5 single crochets, 2 single crochets in one loop * - repeat 2 times (14);

5, 6, 7 row: we knit without increases, in each row there are 14 single crochets (14);

We cut the red thread and attach the white thread.

8, 9, 10 row: each row has 14 single crochets (14);

11th row: * 5 single crochets, 2 single crochets with a common top * - repeat 2 times (12);

12, 13 row: in each row there are 12 single crochets (12);

Row 14: * 4 single crochets, 2 single crochets with a common top * - repeat 2 times (10)

15, 16, 17 row: 10 columns (10)

We cut the thread, leaving an end of about 20 cm for sewing the arms to the body. We stuff our hands in the lower part (mittens) not too tightly. We do not stuff the upper part. Sew up the hole. We make several stitches with red thread, marking the thumb on the mittens. We attach the arms to the body or sew them on.

Nose

We leave the tail of the thread longer (about 20 cm) to sew on the nose. We knit a chain of 6 air loops. We close it with a connecting post. We knit a tube in a spiral with single crochets about 2 cm long. Then we shorten the loops by knitting 2 single crochets with one vertex. Gather the remaining loops onto a thread and tighten. We sew the nose to the head with oblique stitches. No need to stuff your nose.

cap

We knit the hat with knitting needles in the round. We are recruiting 44 loops and knit 1.5 cm in garter stitch (6 rows). Next 2.5 cm (10 rows) - stocking stitch. We decrease 8 loops per row, knitting 2 loops together (4 decreases per row), through the row.When 12 loops remain, tighten the loops and sew on the pompom.

Scarf

We knit the scarf with knitting needles using a 1x1 elastic band. We cast on 8 loops (together with edge stitches). We knit 32 cm. We attach the fringe. The width of the scarf is slightly less than 2 cm.

Gift bag

Knitted in the round at the top. We cast on 46 loops and knit with 3 cm blue yarn (12 rows). Next we knit according to the pattern jacquard pattern. After the pattern, knit 2 cm (10 rows) with blue yarn and connect the sides of the bag with 3 knitting needles or sew. We fill the bag with filler or put a New Year's gift in it.
