Powder. You can visually balance the upper and lower parts of the face using dark-colored powder, which should be applied to the temples and cheekbones. The darker the color, the smaller the parts of the face it is applied to will appear. To smooth out a sharp chin, apply dark powder to it. bottom part to the middle of the chin.

Blush. Apply them under your cheekbones in a diamond shape. The main line should deviate slightly downwards in relation to the eyes (about 25 degrees). Do not apply blush at a strong angle - this will lengthen your face even more.

Brows. Make the beginning and end of your eyebrows smaller, leaving the middle wide.

Shadows. Apply and blend the shadows onto the upper eyelid in a semicircle. It is not recommended to apply shadow to the brow line, as this will make the eyes appear larger and draw attention to the wide upper part of the face. When making an eye contour, try not to draw out the arrow too much - this will also enlarge the eyes and draw attention to them.

Lips. You need to visually lengthen the lip line. By using contour pencil darken the corners of your lips, making them brighter than the middle.

Hairstyle for triangular face shape

Choose hairstyles that widen towards the lower part of the face, hairstyles with long straight or oblique bangs. A high side parting or a hairstyle without a parting will do. Style your hair with the ends curled outward. Haircuts with “feathers” and those that will widen at the cheekbone line and narrow at the top are suitable. Increasing the volume of hair at the back of the head can balance out both a narrow chin and wide cheekbones.

Avoid short bangs, short "men's" haircuts, hair combed smoothly on the sides, hairstyles with clear lines, hairstyles that reveal the face (ponytail, etc.). Short, voluminous haircuts are also not recommended, as they will only weigh down the upper part of the head and make it too bulky.

With the help of makeup, you can easily change the proportions of your face, achieve an ideal oval, narrow your cheekbones or make your nose smaller, enlarge your eyes, make your lips fuller. Corrective makeup is performed using a large assortment cosmetics.

Correctors, foundations, powders, highlighters, bronzers, pencils and lipsticks are used. Correction of the face shape consists of skillful use games of light and shadow. It is a known fact that dark shades can reduce the parameters of a full face, and light ones are used to expand the shape. This can be extremely important when doing makeup, for example, for a triangular face.

Ideal face oval

Those with an oval face do not need to wear corrective makeup. Their shapes are considered to be impeccable, so you can safely proceed to applying decorative cosmetics, bypassing the correction stage. Girls who have face shapes of all other types should first correctly determine the parameters of their appearance in order to correct it with the help of makeup and achieve the ideal oval.

Corrective makeup can radically transform your appearance without surgery. The secrets of correcting the shape of the face can be briefly described as follows:

  • A long face can be visually corrected by applying a corrective product to the forehead and chin in a darker shade than the skin color (a creamy bronzer is perfect). To make your face even more proportional, apply blush to your cheekbones.
  • To the owners diamond-shaped face To achieve an oval, you need to: reduce the cheekbones using a contour - a dark foundation, and then lighten the forehead and chin with lighter highlights (using a highlighter).
  • Correcting a triangular face also involves using contour at the top of the forehead and on the cheeks. You should also correct a narrow chin with a light highlight.
  • Smooth out features rectangular face You can apply the contour symmetrically on the right and left on the forehead and chin. The center of the forehead, chin and area under the eyes should be slightly lightened, this gives radiance and freshness.

  • The correction scheme for a square face is generally similar to a rectangular one. To achieve the perfect oval with makeup, you need to apply the contour symmetrically on the right and left sides, highlight the center of the forehead, the middle of the chin and the area under the eyes with light highlights, and apply blush in the shape of an elongated triangle on the cheekbones.
  • To lengthen round face, it is necessary to reduce the cheeks. The lateral protruding parts must be hidden with a contour, and the middle of the forehead and chin should be highlighted with a highlight. The same scheme helps when doing makeup for a full face, it helps to make it thinner and more attractive.

When performing corrective makeup, we must not forget about shading. The boundaries of any cosmetic product should be soft and subtle, regardless of whether it is used Foundation, concealer or powder.

Face contouring

Square shape correction

Correcting a square face can be the most difficult. An angular forehead, wide prominent cheekbones, an increased size of the lower jaw - all these are the main characteristics of a square face that require softening and reducing the size of the chin.

To achieve the perfect oval, owners of a square face need to follow these steps step by step:

If minor corrections need to be made, dry correctors are suitable. They are much easier to use, and the effect is soft, barely noticeable. In those cases where the proportions need to be changed thoroughly, there is nothing better than liquid correctors. With their help, you can change the triangular, square, rectangular and rounded shape of the face, achieving a perfect oval.

Basic rules for facial correction

Correction is a way of visually modeling the face using cosmetics: usually dark and light colors. These colors play the roles of “light” and “shadow”: when applying dark shades, the application area is visually reduced or narrowed. When using light ones, on the contrary, it increases and becomes a little more convex. Correction of skin imperfections and defects is done with tone-on-tone shades.

Use dark means It is advisable only in the evening, when the shadows “soften” a little - there is a risk that in daylight such a correction will be too noticeable on the skin.

If you still need to sculpt your face, it is advisable to use dry products. For example, tan-colored blush or light bronzers. And, of course, it is important to ensure that the shading is very thorough and soft. Use a small fluffy natural bristle brush for this purpose.

If you have oily or oily skin, use only dry products when contouring your cheekbones and face contours with dark shades.

Light products can be used cream or liquid. But they must be selected according to your skin type. In addition, they must be durable. After application, it is advisable to set the result with powder.

It is important to ensure that the correction does not go beyond the hairline (especially when correcting the cheekbones and darkening areas on the forehead). Otherwise, it will be very noticeable, as it will be distributed in spots, and it will not be possible to shade it.

If you are creating bright evening makeup for an important event where you will be photographed, it is advisable to correct with products with a creamy texture and apply them under foundation

In this case, you don’t have to be afraid of color intensity. The tone will ensure a neat transition from light to shadow and smooth edges of the shading. Visually, the correction will be present, but the intensity will go away, and on the camera, on the contrary, it will appear.

For ordinary evening makeup correction is done with foundation to avoid sharp transitions and spots

Gently blend the product with a brush or sponge. The result should look like a light haze and should not be noticeable in any way.

IN daytime makeup let's say a light bronzer or blush applied with a fluffy brush

In daylight, errors in the application of products are very clearly visible, so it is better to avoid dark correction.

The correction scheme that is right for you is always individual, as it directly depends on the shape of your face (we discussed this issue in detail). But still general rules, which are relevant for everyone, exist.

Rules for facial correction

  • On the Internet you can find a large number of schemes and recommendations for correction, but they all boil down to the fact that “sharp corners” always need to be rounded. If your chin is too sharp, your hairline is too high at the corners of your forehead, or your cheekbones are too wide, then it is advisable to darken these areas. Thus, the visual perception of the face will be reduced only to its light areas, the shape will become oval, and the contours of the face will be softer, the cheekbones will narrow.
  • If your face is round or wide, or there are other reasons why you want to “stretch” it vertically, then apply a concealer a couple of shades lighter than your skin to the T-zone, forehead and chin. The problem will be solved!
  • One of the favorite topics of beauty bloggers is still “cheekbones like Kim Kardashian.” This correction scheme is based on a sharp contrast of light and shadow. This effect can be achieved by highlighting the area above the cheekbone and darkening the area below it. Above the cheekbone, a light corrector is applied in the shape of a triangle, which begins under the eyes, goes to the temple and ends at the wings of the nose. The dark corrector is applied to the “dip” under the cheekbone and very carefully shaded upward.

Correcting the shape of the nose using cosmetics

Using a sculpting agent, you can visually shorten, narrow, or, conversely, lengthen and widen your nose:

Do you want to “lower” your upturned nose a little? Proceed as shown in the diagram. To, on the contrary, visually “raise” the tip of the nose a little, draw and carefully shade a dark stripe at the base of the nasal cartilage, separating 1/4 or 1/3 from the tip of the nose. © site

Lip shape correction

Lip correction should be done with a product that matches your skin tone or is several shades lighter.

  • Using a product that matches your skin tone, you can correct uneven shapes and shorten too “elongated” lips.
  • Use a product several shades lighter to enlarge your lips (apply the product to the “hollow” above the lip, going to the upper edges, as well as to the “hollow” under the lip.

  • Apply concealer with reflective particles to the area under the eyes to disguise bruises and swelling, as well as refresh the look. Apply concealer in the shape of an inverted triangle.

    Correction of skin imperfections

    To correct problem areas on the skin (redness, pimples), use a corrector that matches the color of your skin. Apply foundation, and then precisely distribute the corrector onto problem areas. Blend with a soft brush and, after drying, also spot-fix with powder.

    Wrinkles, especially deep ones, as well as nasolabial folds, are corrected by a couple of tones of the product lighter skin. Apply it to a fold or wrinkle along its entire length. In this case, you need to use a durable product that is quickly absorbed. Don't forget to set it with transparent powder.

    A woman who masters the art of makeup is a master of disguise. She knows how to hide flaws, emphasizes advantages and goes with any outfit: everyday, business evening. The pinnacle of art is sculpture. This part of the beauty ritual turns into magic. A couple of strokes of the brush and the cheekbones are no longer so wide, the cheeks are no longer so rounded, and the nose takes on a neat, chiseled appearance. What is the secret of mastery? How to achieve results? Prepare, focus, and you will get all the answers.

    About anatomical features

    How does a triangular face differ from other types? , makeup artists rely on a generally accepted standard. Even the ancient Greeks developed ideal facial proportions, relying on knowledge of natural patterns and harmony. This system has survived thousands of years, was reflected in paintings and sculptural portraits, and in the 20th century penetrated the fashion industry. With the help of nature’s favorite golden ratio, which is found in most plant forms, humans were also measured.

    The ideal basis of the face was an oval, divided into three identical parts:

    • from the hairline to the bridge of the nose;
    • from the bridge of the nose to the base of the nose;
    • from the base of the nose to the end of the chin.

    Other criteria for assessing harmony have appeared:

    1. the distance between the eyes should be equal to the length of the palpebral fissure from the lacrimal to the outer corner,
    2. the extreme points of the wings of the nose are located on one vertical line with the inner corners of the eyes,
    3. The length of the lips is equal to the distance from one pupil to the other.

    A triangular-shaped face is characterized by an imbalance of the upper and lower parts:

    • sharp or narrowed chin,
    • high and wide forehead,
    • wide cheekbones.

    But the width of the nose, the set of the eyes or the size of the lips do not depend on the shape of the face. Makeup application schemes for a triangular face take into account general patterns, but you will have to take care of the details yourself. Having mastered main principle shape correction, you will quickly cope with the task: you will give elegance to your nose and make your lips plumper.

    Ideal makeup for a triangular face

    Perfect makeup includes 3 stages, each of which solves its own problems.

    Concealing skin blemishes

    Pimples, freckles, dark spots and bruises under the eyes bother women with any face shape. Hiding imperfections is the first task of makeup. Beautiful and smooth skin is attractive in itself. She talks about the health and grooming of a woman. Facial treatments are carried out before applying makeup. Modern cosmetics help in nourishing and treating the skin. Useful components for combating pimples, oily shine, and dry skin are added to concealers, correctors, and foundation creams. The vitamin complex is used to enrich the composition of mascara, lipstick and balms.

    Depending on the size of the area being corrected, desired result(color correction or masking), the brightness of the rash in the problem area, auxiliary means are selected:

    • and masks small and subtle skin defects;
    • Concealers precisely hide problem areas: pimples, freckles, dark circles under the eyes;
    • correctors mask imperfections using color effects: neutralize yellowness or redness of the skin, hide bruises;

    Visual correction of the oval and parts of the face

    There are two ways to correct your face shape: dry and oily. The first one is suitable for everyday makeup, the second for evening outings. The dry type of correction takes less time and does not require special skills, while the oily type is the opposite. To perform such makeup you will need skill, a sense of taste, measures, more tools and cosmetics. At this stage, facial imperfections are corrected, depending on its type. Visually correct the shape of the nose, eyes, lips.

    For dry sculpting You will need a dry dark corrector, powder, blush. For fatty– a palette of liquid correctors or two shades of concealer (light and dark), invisible powder to fix the result. For high-quality application of makeup or sponge.

    It is better to use brushes with synthetic bristles of different diameters: small ones for applying product, large ones for shading.

    For dry It is better not to use a sponge for facial modeling.

    Details

    For dessert, all that remains is to tint the eyes and highlight the lips. This is the most creative part of makeup. Using the color of lipstick, eye shadow, brightness of eyelashes and length of eyelashes, you can try on many images: from a romantic dreamer to a fatal beauty.

    Following the stages of makeup application will help you avoid mistakes. It’s too late to cover up pimples after sculpting. Apply foundation to decorative cosmetics also useless.

    What should you remember when applying makeup?

    Age. The younger the skin, the less products are needed to correct it. A thick layer of makeup ages a girl. After the appearance age-related changes, products should be used with a light texture. They don't clog wrinkles.

    Purpose. Casual or festive, morning or evening, business or romantic - each makeup requires a special approach. Bright colors and heavy layers of correctors will look out of place in everyday makeup, and a lack of contrast will make an evening look inexpressive.

    Individuality. Don't imitate stars and models. Every person has their own attractive parts. A doll's face, devoid of individuality, is less memorable. The beauty of a woman lies in her individual characteristics. Even the shortcomings have their own charm. This rule also works in modeling business. For example, Tyra Banks' high forehead does not spoil the model's appearance, but gives her a special charm. The choice of colors also depends on the individual. Some suit warm dark shades, others go cold and light. The choice of brightness and color in makeup is also influenced by the outfit. A bright, bold dress and equally provocative makeup combined will create a vulgar look. And a strict outfit and make-up devoid of accents will make appearance expressionless, unfinished, gray.

    Now all the nuances have been discussed, the i's are dotted. All that remains is to bring your fantasy to life.

    Ideal makeup for a triangular face: instructions

    We move from theory to practice. We turn on the lights brighter, open the curtains, take a place in front of a large mirror (a pocket one won’t suit you) and start creating a masterpiece.

    Preparation

    If you want to keep your face young and your skin healthy for a long time, do not neglect this stage. The face is cleansed and moisturized before makeup. The quality of makeup and skin health depend on choosing the right foundation. Best treatment– this is prevention. To the problems premature aging or improper functioning of the sebaceous glands, this also applies.

    Concealing skin imperfections

    Masking agents are applied before decorative ones. The foundation is applied first. Use light formulations; they will even out your skin tone and won’t look like a mask. The foundation is selected 1-2 shades lighter than your own complexion. It is not able to hide serious defects, so to eliminate visible imperfections or correctors, apply it pointwise to problem areas. Set the result with invisible powder.

    Modeling

    The most crucial moment comes - modeling or. Its principle is based on proper distribution of light and shade. Whatever makeup application technique you choose, you need to remember which areas to darken and which areas to lighten.

    1. Apply the dark shade to the sides of your forehead and along your hairline.
    2. The dark tone is applied under the cheekbone. Smile. The corrector should lie on the raised parts of the cheeks. The tone is applied in the shape of a half diamond.
    3. Darken the sides and place the light tone on the bridge of the nose. If it seems long to you, then a dark corrector is applied to the tip of the nose.
    4. To distract attention from the sharpness of the chin, darken it slightly central part and highlight the side ones. This will hide the sharp corners.
    5. Apply light concealer along the contour of the lower jaw. This technique will help to visually equalize the volume of the upper and lower parts of the face.
    6. Blend the correctors thoroughly, starting with light shades and moving towards dark ones. Once you've finished sculpting, apply invisible powder to your face to make your makeup last longer. This is especially true for the fat modeling technique.

    Working on the details

    Applying the finishing touches.

    • For women with a triangular face type, it is not recommended to overuse the arrows; the longer they are, the wider the upper part appears. It is better to focus on the central areas of the eyelids. Dark color is preferable for shadows.
    • When choosing the shape of your eyebrows, you should avoid sharp angles; it is better to choose a rounded version.
    • Lips are an important detail of the image. They will distract attention from a sharp chin. An emphasis on the lips will complete the look, but don’t go overboard.

    When applying makeup to a triangular face, the focus is on the eyes.

    A triangular shaped face is very individual. It should not be adjusted to generally accepted standards. A sharp chin and high forehead will become your calling card if you skillfully present them to the public. When creating the human body, nature uses only canons that it understands, according to which it sculpts the face, arms and legs, and torso. The angularity of a triangular face can be harmoniously combined with graceful collar bones and a long neck. The main thing is to catch individual beauty in time, and use makeup as a subtle cutting tool.

    We will start by familiarizing ourselves with the materials and methods by which face shape correction is performed.

    Materials used to correct the shape of the face.

    1 Highlighters are light-colored products that are used to highlight certain areas of the face. Highlighters are:

    • bold highlighters - all correctors and foundations in light shades;
    • dry highlighters - light loose and compact powder, white powder, light shadows, pearl pearl shadows and powders.

    2 Darkening preparations are products used to darken desired areas of the face. Divided:

    • fatty darkening agents - any foundation and corrector 1-2 or more positions darker than the main tone;
    • dry darkening agents - any powders, shadows that are 1-2 or more shades darker than the main color, as well as special dry correctors.

    Types of facial modeling

    1. Monochrome modeling - one color corrector is used, either dark or light. The effect of depth is achieved by layer-by-layer application.
    2. Polychrome modeling – used from two or more corrector colors. In this type of modeling, a smooth transition from color to color is important. We start working with lighter ones and end with darker correctors.
    3. Cross modeling - dry highlighters and bold darkening are used, or vice versa, bold highlighters and dry darkening.
    4. Duplicate modeling - first we work with bold highlighters and darkening agents, and then we duplicate them with dry highlighters and darkening agents.

    Facial correction

    To make it easier to navigate further, let’s take a look at the diagram:

    1 – Middle of the forehead

    2-3 – Temporal arches

    4 – Middle of the chin

    5-6 – Jaw arches

    AB – Vertical face size

    CD – Horizontal face size

    Based on proportions, the ratio of horizontal and vertical dimensions, and the shape of the arcs, each face can be classified as a type. An ideally balanced face is AB = 3/3, CD = 2/3. The ideal is considered oval shape faces, so we use makeup to bring each face closer to an oval.

    Square face:

    The vertical and horizontal dimensions are as close as possible, the temporal and jaw arches are expanded.

    • simple correction: everything extending beyond the oval is darkened, i.e. darker foundations or dry corrector are used in areas beyond the oval shape;
    • more complex correction: the area around the eyes is highlighted, the jaw bone is darkened in the shape of a triangle, the blush is also adjusted in a triangular shape. This is done in order to draw the eye to the upper part of the face, and make the lower part inconspicuous. Do not apply round blush under any circumstances.

    Round face:

    Vertical and horizontal dimensions are approximate, as in the case of square face, but the jaw and frontal arches are folded.

    • simple correction: the correction is performed in the same way as for a square face;
    • more complex correction: We highlight the area around the eyes, darken the jaw arches almost from the cheekbones, apply blush vertically along the upper part of the cheekbone.

    Triangular face shape:

    The ratio of vertical and horizontal dimensions may be different; the frontal arches are deployed, the jaws are collapsed.

    • simple correction: the frontal arches darken to an oval shape;
    • more complex correction: the temporal arches are darkened, the jaw bone is highlighted in the form of a drop, blush is applied to the highest points of the cheekbones.

    Trapezoidal face shape:

    The frontal arches are folded, and the jaw arches are unfolded. This face shape is most often found in overweight people and older people.

    • simple correction: darken the jaw arch, bringing the shape closer to an oval;
    • more complex correction: We lighten the upper part of the face, darken the jaw bone not reaching the middle of the chin, apply blush above the darkening.

    Elongated (elongated) face shape:

    Vertical dimensions prevail over horizontal ones; the jaw and zygomatic arches can be either folded or unfolded.

    • simple correction: part of the forehead and part of the chin are darkened, creating ideal ratio horizontal and vertical dimensions;
    • more complex correction: the central part of the face is highlighted, and we apply blush horizontally, not only on the cheeks, but also on the nose; darken part of the chin and part of the forehead, this will visually stretch the face horizontally.
