Black dress, skirt, blouse - any option.

If desired skirt and it can even be made from black tulle by tying pieces of the required length to a wide elastic band. Or you can use a standard pattern to sew a classic product.

It is worth noting that the answer to the question of how to make a catwoman costume is similar. To sew a tutu, you will need strips of tulle of the required length - since they will be folded in half to secure them, it is necessary to measure a double length to make the product.

The elastic band is attached to a stool or the back of a chair - it is equal to the waist size of the future owner. It is necessary to make an allowance of about 10 cm.

As it turned out, sew cat costume quite simple. All that remains is to buy face paints to give your daughter the right makeup - a black nose and a charming mustache.

In a similar way, you can make a costume for an adult wearer. For this, the same materials and a similar procedure are used. The main thing is to choose suitable clothing, in harmony with the tutu skirt, and also take care of suitable makeup. Gloves with claws and stockings will complement the seductive look.

Children love to pretend to be animals. And for the carnival you can prepare a cat costume for a boy with your own hands. This outfit can be created in many ways. It all depends on the skills of the needlewoman, the time allotted for preparation, and the availability of materials at hand. In order to make a cat costume with your own hands for a boy, you should clarify which fairy tale this character is from.

Puss in Boots

You can make this DIY cat costume for a boy from things available in the house. You can wear regular trousers; they can be paired with a bright mother’s blouse, with a belt or belt on it. The cuffs and large round collar can be sewn or cut out of paper.

Without high boots, a cat costume cannot be called complete. DIY for a boy from thick paper sockets are made that are put on the upper part of the tops of any boots. They have the shape of a truncated cone.

Someone will decide that they have already made a cat costume for a boy with their own hands. The photo of a boy in a puss-in-boots outfit allows us to doubt this: where is the sword and the feather?

If you look carefully on the mezzanine, it is quite possible that the much-needed headdress is lying around there. Otherwise, the hat can be glued together from cardboard. And a feather, if you don’t have one at home either, can easily be cut out of paper, painted and cut into “noodles” around the edges. You can also look for a sword among the boy’s toys or make it yourself.

It is best to make up a child’s face “like a cat” by drawing a nose and mustache on it.

The simplest cat outfit

No matter how easy it is to choose the attributes for a Puss in Boots outfit, it can take a whole day. What if you need to get ready in just a couple of hours? Is it possible to collect new Year costume DIY cat for a boy in such a short time?

Can! Any outfit that matches the color will fit: brown, yellow, white, black. The tail is done or not done, it depends on the availability of time and desire. But you need to build ears.

They are made from a hairband to which cardboard triangles are attached. You can cover them with fleecy fabric or cover them with velvet paper.

If you don’t have a headband at home, but you don’t want to buy one or you can’t, you can do without it. You just need to cut a strip out of paper and glue it together so that you get a ring with a diameter equal to the circumference of your head. This ring should be placed on the head so that it passes through the forehead.

Now triangles are glued to the front just above the forehead. These ears look no worse than those made from hairbands.

Simple cat half mask

Sometimes you want to make a cat costume with your own hands for a boy in a more fundamental way. Then, instead of ears, you can make your child a simple half mask made of thick paper. To do this, just transfer this sample onto cardboard and cut it out. After coloring the craft, you need to make holes on the sides into which to insert twine, elastic or ribbons.

This half mask is attached to the upper half of the face, above the nose, by tying ribbons just below the back of the head.

Volumetric New Year's mask

Any carnival costume A homemade cat for a boy will be decorated with a papier-mâché mask. It is quite simple to make, but it will take time to make.

First, a template depicting a cat's face is stuck on a glass cutting board or other surface from plasticine or clay. Then ordinary newspaper is cut into pieces one or two centimeters in size of any shape. The first layer of paper scraps is moistened with plain water and placed on the template. All subsequent ones are covered with glue or paste.

When the thickness of the papier-mâché reaches two millimeters, work can be stopped. Now you should wait until the craft dries. The last stage of work on the product is its coloring. Any paints will do, from watercolors and gouache to oils. At the very end of the work, the mask can be varnished.

And be sure to make holes on the sides into which you need to insert the ties.

Leopold the cat costume

This is a very cute cartoon character, extremely loved by children. Leopold the cat's outfit is also easy to make. A craftswoman familiar with sewing will easily cope with the task.

Need to sew bright ones blue trousers and a yellow shirt with wide sleeves at the cuffs. The outfit will be completed with a huge red bow, which should be tied around the neck.

A mask or a cap made of fleecy fabric is put on the boy’s head.

Knitted cat costume

Needlewomen familiar with knitting can also use their skills. After all, a knitted jumpsuit will perfectly imitate fluffy cat fur. And a knitted hat with cute ears is put on her head.

By the way, both the overalls and the hat can be worn after the holiday - today clothes of this type for children are in trend.

Jumpsuit suit. Cutting master class

To sew a cat costume for a boy with your own hands, you will need fleecy fabric of two colors - the main color and a light one for the spot on the stomach.

The front closure is best done with a zipper. If the decision is made to make it with buttons or buttons, this point should be taken into account when cutting out the parts.

  1. Before you make a cat costume for a boy with your own hands, the patterns should be transferred to paper. The most convenient way to do this is with graph paper, which is what draftsmen use. Then all the details are cut out.
  2. The material of the main color is folded in half lengthwise, facing inward.
  3. The pattern pieces marked “2 pieces” are laid out on the material, since after cutting you will get exactly a pair of such pieces. Therefore, drawings of the back, front and sleeves are taken.
  4. Patterns on the fabric must be laid out in such a way that the direction of the grain indicated on the part coincides with the direction of the grain on the piece of fabric.
  5. All details are carefully outlined with a special disappearing paint. You can use dry soap or chalk. At worst, use a pencil, as it leaves a mark that is difficult to remove later. When tracing parts, allowance should be made for seams.
  6. Cut out double parts with scissors. The fabric is laid out wrong side up.
  7. The cat's tail is cut out.
  8. From more light fabric a spot is cut on the stomach.

Sewing a jumpsuit

First, you should baste (bait) the back and front parts.

  1. To do this, place the front piece face down on the front part of the back piece so that the blue and green edges match.
  2. Using a “forward needle” seam, the parts are fastened along the blue and green lines.
  3. The same is done with the other two parts of the back and front.
  4. The resulting halves of the trousers are folded together without turning them on their faces, and they are swept together along the front line.
  5. Now you need to sew the shoulder seams of the back and front.

The fitting is carried out without turning the product inside out. If necessary, you can make a correction directly on the figure by removing the excess with a “forward needle” seam. But you need to be very careful not to inject the child.

When the product is fitted to the figure using live thread, you can sew all the seams on a machine and baste the sleeves along the side seams. Without turning the parts inside out, they are basted to the main part of the product so that the deeper recess of the sleeve is in front. After trying on and adjusting the overalls, you can stitch these

After trying on, if corrections are not required, the basting is removed, and all edges of the parts are sewn by machine or manually, if such a function is not available.

At the bottom of the legs and sleeves, a hem is made so that an elastic band or drawstring cord can be inserted. A zipper is inserted into the back seam, and the collar is processed

The tail is cut off, turned inside out and a thick wire is inserted inside. After this, it is sewn to the suit.

First, they are treated with hem or bias tape, then basted to the front of the overalls. Attach the part from above with threads matching the color of the overlay.

Mittens and mask are prepared separately. You can also sew boots. But regular shoes will do just fine.

Cat costumes of this type look interesting (photo below).

You can choose clothes from your wardrobe or sew them. Complete the suit with trim from tulle, fur, boa.

It is enough to make ears on the headband for the head.

Well, don't forget about the tail.

Makeup is applied to the face (a nose and mustache are drawn).

Many parents, with the approach of the New Year and children's matinees in kindergartens and schools, are wondering how to create a carnival outfit for their beloved child with their own hands.

And here it is this site there are a few more useful instructions for creating DIY cat costume. Even the simplest cat costume looks very original and your child will be happy to show off at a matinee in such an outfit.

We also remember having to make a cat costume. My friend and I very quickly figured out how we would make it so that the kids would like it. The only thing we bought was a gray striped light jacket and a headband with ears. And the rest were improvised materials. The costume consisted of this blouse, gray tights, a gray skirt, a headband with ears and a tail (which I sewed from old trousers, filled with the remains of trousers, and inserted a wire at the bottom so that the tail was bent). And one more important point: to draw the cat’s face, we made a nose and antennae. The children were very happy.

A cat costume is suitable for any theme holiday or on New Year. If you are making it for a child, you can just decorate it black dress tail and put on ears, which are often sold with a headband.

If you want to make a serious costume, you can watch the video:

I suggest making a cat costume like this:

Let's start with the ears. You will need a headband, paper, pieces of black and pink felt.

Fold a piece of paper in half and make a pattern like this:

Using the template, cut out the ears from black felt:

Now we wrap the ears around the headband and sew them together:

Now cut out two smaller triangles from pink felt:

    glue them with glue:

Now let's make the tail. You will need cardboard tubes for toilet paper and towels, black stockings, and fur.

Wrap the bag around the tubes.

We insert the resulting blank into the stocking.

We sew pieces of fur to the tail:

Now let's get started full skirt. It can be made from tulle. Let's cut strips of fabric and tie them to the belt.

We select a blouse and knee socks, and the suit will be ready.

The cat costume is one of the most popular for girls, and making it yourself is not at all difficult. First, you will need to decide whether you want to sew a cat costume (this will take a little more time) or make it from scrap materials?

If you decide to sew a cat costume, then first think through the details of the costume. Perhaps it will be a vest with a skirt or a vest with shorts.

The skirt can be made from velvet fabric in black, red or gray, model - sun or half-sun. You can also use tulle. Don’t forget to attach a ponytail to the back of the skirt, and make fabric ears on your head (attached to the headband).

This is what a cat costume made from a skirt and vest will look like:

If you don’t know how or don’t like to sew, you can make a cat costume simpler. To do this, you will need a velor suit consisting of trousers and a jumper. Velor is a very fluffy, cat-like material. Attach a tail, also made of velor, to the back of the trousers, and a hoop with ears to the head. You can draw a cat's face on the child's face. Now the costume is ready!

There is no need to buy or rent a cat costume. The most difficult thing is to make the required elements yourself: ears and tail and the optional one - a butterfly. In addition, you need to check your wardrobe for certain things that would be combined with each other.

For example, you can take white fishnet tights, white skirt, a white sleeveless vest and an even turtleneck with black shoes.

The second option could be a black skirt and a black turtleneck, but white tights with shoes (white or black).

It is important that your bowtie is the opposite color of your turtleneck.

I suggest making the ears according to the pattern presented below.

And the tail is a rectangular piece of fabric sewn and filled with cotton wool. It is better to sew the tail to the top of the skirt.

A cat costume is quite easy to make. You can use any clothes for this, such as trousers (it is better to take stretch trousers, such as leggings) with a turtleneck, for example, or a blouse with a skirt, or a dress. It is better to take clothes in black. Next you need to make a tail and ears on the head. Ears can be made from material and attached to a hairband. If you have pieces of fur, you can sew them onto the sleeves, collar and hem of the skirt.

Basically, a cat costume is an assembly of various elements, some of which you can find at home: tights or leggings of the desired color, gloves, blouse. All that remains is to decorate. It’s great if you paint your child’s face, something like this makeup:

    Here good idea black suit:

The easiest way to place cat ears is on a headband, and you can choose two ways:

    • wrap the rim with wire for stability and hide it under the fabric;
    • or make ears of an already standing material, for example, felt.

Here's another interesting option, the suit is made of white satin:

Parents of young children often struggle with the question: What will my child wear to the carnival? children's party, New Year holiday? And this is a very important question, believe me. If you do something ugly or unfashionable (among children), you will simply spoil your child’s mood. You don't want that, do you? Then the first thing you need to decide is the choice of the costume itself, or rather the hero. This is best done with the child himself. You should definitely ask his opinion on this issue. Now I can offer a very beautiful and fashionable cat costume for your daughter. This video shows how to make a cat costume with your own hands. Be sure to check it out. And here are some more examples of such costumes.

A children's event is an exciting quest for mom. In a short time, you need to choose a character, think through the image, find a costume and accessories, and, if necessary, put on makeup for the child. One of the popular characters at children's parties is the cat. This can be either a stylized image of an animal, where the color, shape of the ears, length of the tail, fluffy coat and accessories depend on the taste and available materials of the creator. Or the hero of your favorite cartoon or a child’s fairy tale.

Ideas for creating a “cat” costume

Undoubtedly, the outfit should meet the aesthetic needs of the mother, but it is important to remember that the main critic is the child.
Modern children did not grow up in the times of the kind Leopold, the cunning Basilio, and the hardworking Matroskin. Therefore, the images of these characters at children's parties are losing relevance.

The current generation has its own heroes.

  • Merry Korzhik, Caramel and Compote - animated series "Three Cats".
  • Brave Supercat - animated series "Lady Bug and Supercat".
  • Magnificent Puss in Boots - cartoon "Shrek".
  • Catboy - animated series "PJ Masks".

Costume options

The basis

Reproducing the image is easy. Surely the young fashionista has a red trapeze dress in her wardrobe. If not, mom will try and sew it together in a couple of hours.

To avoid fiddling with the pattern for a long time, any one is taken loose dress girls, and an outfit is created based on it. Sleeves and collar are not needed. The top can be cut figuratively or straight, then treated with bias tape to match the dress.

Reference! You can make the bias tape yourself. Cut strips 4 cm wide diagonally relative to the grain line, fold them in half lengthwise and iron.

Headdress

Big red bow and cute angular ears They will look amazing on little fashionistas. You can attach the components to the headband.

For the ears you will need fur triangles in red tones, as well as white fleece elements slightly smaller in size. The parts are laid face to face, connected to sewing machine or manually, stuffed with padding polyester. Then they are turned inside out and sewn to the rim.

Tied in the center of the headband big bow . To prevent it from falling during active games, just attach it to your ears with a couple of stitches.

The basis

Top - blue striped T-shirt or vest. If you don't have any striped items, you can sew colored stripes onto a white T-shirt.

Bottom - blue trousers or jeans. Every boy probably has one of these.

Headdress

On the head there is a cap, like a sailor's. If friends or relatives borrow it for one evening, great. If not, making it yourself is not difficult.

A rectangle 6–8 cm high, 35 cm wide is cut out of thick blue cardboard and glued into a cylinder. A white circle is also glued on top, the diameter of which is 1.5–2 cm larger than that of the cylinder. An image of an anchor is applied to the front part of the resulting cap, and two satin ribbons, 15 cm long.

In order for the headdress to hold well, you will need a thin elastic band, for which holes are cut on the sides of the cylinder. The ears are made in the same way as Caramel’s and are attached with an elastic band along with the headdress.

Top - green shirt. Bottom - green trousers. If you have old, light-colored clothes lying around at home that your child won’t wear, you can experiment and change the color with special paint for clothes.

If the trousers are a little short, no problem. Trimming them further will make great capri pants.

A green kitten's cap can easily be obtained from cotton stockings by making a cuff on them. And sew a pom-pom from knitting threads onto the tip.

It is necessary to fill the cap with padding polyester so that it keeps its shape. Or insert a cardboard cone inside. Everything, including the ears, is attached with an elastic band.

The basis of the suit is a black turtleneck and trousers, ideally tight-fitting ones.

Under the neck, at the level of the jugular notch, you need to sew an amulet, which has the shape of a ball with a diameter of 3–4 cm. It is done simply, just buy gold foil at any stationery store and crumple it into the required shape.

Ears and headband

To create a blindfold, black knitted fabric is best suited. The edges of the jersey do not need to be finished when creating the eye holes. This makes the job much easier.

For the ears you will need black felt. 4 identical parts are cut, sewn together in pairs and stuffed with a thin layer of padding polyester. A wire is run along the contour, which will give the required shape. After the ears are formed, they are sewn on with an elastic band.

Puss in Boots

A piece of black fabric is suitable for a raincoat, which will be fastened under the neck with a button.

Reference! It is better to purchase a large button on a leg with a metallic tint. It will look better than usual and harmoniously complement the image.

To create boots from thick paper or fabric that holds its shape well, two truncated cones are cut out. The smaller base is attached to the shoe with ribbons or elastic bands. The larger one is turned away and edged with burgundy braid. The boots themselves must be black.

You need to complete the image with a sword. If you don’t find one in the toys, thick wire, foil, and a cut bottom will help. plastic bottle and a large bead for the tip. A hole is made in the center of the bottom of the bottle into which the wire is inserted. One end of it turns into a handle, and a bead is attached to the other.

Attention! No sharp objects are allowed at children's parties, so a tip is a must!

After production, the sword is completely wrapped in foil.

Headdress

The character's ears are hidden under a black hat with burgundy trim. Finding a headdress of this type will not be difficult, but sewing on colored braid will take 10 minutes. One of the sides is carefully attached to the crown, and a large yellow feather is inserted there. Similar accessories are sold in decoration and decor stores.

Reference! A good alternative to a store-bought pen would be a homemade one. You need to cover the wire with colored tape or paper and cut out the required shape.

The toddlers' favorite is wearing a blue tight-fitting outfit, so... a turtleneck and trousers in these colors will come in handy.

To the chest line acrylic paints A white design in the form of a mask is applied to the eyes. If you don't have paints at hand, you can cut out an applique from white fabric and carefully sew it on.

We'll put a blue knitted hat on our head. Ears of similar colors are sewn onto it. Samu the hat must be chosen so that it covers the eyes and nose. After the slits for the eyes are ready, white eyebrows and stripes are carefully drawn on the sides of the head and on top, just like the young hero.

An important detail of the costume is the tail.

  • For Caramel, Korzhik and Compote, the tail design is the same. A fur or fabric strip with a pile is folded in half, stitched on both sides, and lightly stuffed with synthetic padding. It is better to connect Caramel's tail with the girl's tights so that it protrudes from under the dress. For Kompot and Korzhik, the tails are attached to the belt.
  • . A thin and long tail can be made perfectly from a black stocking, which is stuffed with padding polyester and then attached to the belt.
  • Puss in Boots. The removable fluffy collar also makes a great tail, similar to a fur one.

Reference! To ensure that the hero's sword is always with him, you can thread a hair tie into the belt.

  • . The tail is sewn from blue jersey, decorated with light stripes and lightly stuffed. You can sew it to the waistband of your trousers.

Useful tips for creating a cat costume

  • Don't fill the tail too tightly, otherwise it will lose its mobility and softness.
  • With ears it’s the other way around; the more densely they are stuffed, the better the shape is maintained.
  • Every character needs gloves. It is advisable that the accessory matches the suit. Nails are painted with acrylic paints, or felt triangles are sewn onto the fingertips;
  • Eye pencil can be used to draw a beautiful mustache- an important attribute of any cat.

Children's activities are designed to spread joy. If you see that the baby is in the image of his favorite hero, with a sparkle in his eyes and a happy smile, then mom did everything right!

A kitten's carnival costume must include charming ears and a long tail! We suggest you sew comfortable hat with ears and mitts, as well as a top with a tail. Using our pattern and detailed instructions You will sew a kitten carnival costume in just one evening!

Kitten carnival costume: material, size and how to complement the look

In our project we used fleece and felt in three colors: black, white and a little pink. Felt is dense felt of different thicknesses. It is great for a variety of crafts, has a smooth edge that does not fray, is flexible and holds its shape well. In craft stores you can buy felt in rolls or sheets. The most common size is 20x30 cm.

Fleece is a lightweight and comfortable material to wear, it breathes well and washes well. In addition, it does not require processing of cuts and therefore it is a pleasure to sew with it! The hat, mittens, top and tail are made of black fleece. In order to determine the amount of fabric, you need to measure the width of your shoulders and choose the length of the top. You will need a piece of fleece with a length equal to twice the desired length of the top + 10 cm and a width equal to the width of your shoulders.

The hat pattern is designed for a head with a girth of 55-56 cm. This size can be suitable for both children and adults. If you need a hat for your head with a girth of 53-54 cm, you can cut out the details of the hat without seam allowances.

Print out the pattern and lay it out on the table. Measure the area occupied and add to the size of the cut for the top.

Decide on the desired length of the mitts. Our model is made as an analogue of short gloves, but you can sew them to any length. Measure the circumference of your palm at the widest part, under the four fingers. Draw a rectangle that has a width equal to the circumference of the palm and a length equal to the desired length of the mitts. Add the resulting pattern in double size to the total cut size for the top and hat and add 10 cm of length for the tail.

We cut out the ears from black felt so that they hold their shape well. small piece, approximately 10x20 cm. From white felt we cut out “cheeks”, a “shirt front” on the chest and the tip of the tail. You will need two sheets of felt 20x30 cm. We cut out the nose and the inside of the ears from pink felt - a piece of 10x20 cm will also be enough for you.

To complement the look, wear black trousers or leggings, and the shirt can be either black or white. So, let's sew a kitten carnival costume!

Printing patterns and cutting

Download the pattern file and print it on A4 sheets. Make sure your printer is set to print mode "actual size", "100%", and not "scale to fit". In the Russian-language program, the option is “ actual size" Cut out all the parts.

Cut out the details of the fleece hat with a 1 cm allowance on all sides. You will need two mirror pieces for both halves of the hat.

Cut out the ears from black and pink felt without allowances, two identical pieces each. Cut out 1 piece of the nose from pink felt without allowances. Cut out 1 part of the “shirt front” and 2 parts of the tip of the tail without allowances from white felt.

For the top, cut out a fleece rectangle with a width equal to the width of the shoulders and a length equal to twice the desired length of the top + 10 cm. For the tail, cut out a strip of fleece 10 cm wide and the desired length, for example 40-50 cm. For mitts, cut out two rectangles, each of which has a width equal to the circumference of the palm and a length equal to the desired length of the mitts. From the leftover black fleece, cut 4 strips 1cm wide and 30-40cm long for the side ties.

Allowance on the side, short, sides is 1 cm.

Progress

Sew darts on all parts of the hat, as well as the front and back halves in pairs.

Sew on the pink nose.

Decide on the distance between the ears, in our case - 7 cm. Set aside half the required distance from the central seam and make a 2 cm long cut deep into the cap. Decide on the distance between the ears, in our case - 7 cm. Set aside half the required distance from the central seam and make a 2 cm long cut deep into the cap. Stitch. Sew the second part of the eyelet to the open upper edge of the front half.

Pin the back of the hat on top. Stitch.

Cut out the mitt rectangle as shown in the photo. Cut the second rectangle as a mirror image.

Sew the side seam, leaving an opening for thumb about 5 cm long. Place the seam allowances to the side and baste with a blind seam.

Fold the top rectangle in half lengthwise and in half widthwise again. Attach a T-shirt for an approximate neckline. Cut a small neckline, slightly deeper at the front than at the back. Try on and refine the neckline shape, if necessary.

Pin a white felt bib onto the front half of the top. Cut out the top of the bib, following the cutout of the top.

Sew two strips of fabric on each side of the top at waist level.

Fold the rectangle for the tail in half lengthwise and stitch along the bottom edge. Turn it inside out.

Place white felt tail tip pieces inside. Sew along the outline of the white part, catching the black tail.
