Place the cut paper in front of you on a flat surface. Place it in landscape orientation, with the long sides at the top and bottom and the short sides at the left and right.

After finishing the paper decoration process, you should make sure that everything artistic elements dried and stuck.

Fold the bottom edge of the paper up 5 cm and press it flat. When finished, unfold it back. This will later become the bottom of the bag.

Place the sides of the bag together. Maintaining the landscape layout of the sheet as you work with it, fold the sides as follows:

Find the center points of the top and bottom. To do this, measure the distance using a ruler or simply take the paper, maintaining the orientation, and place the short sides together, pressing the fold lightly on the bottom and top of the paper to mark the center on each long side. Mark these places with a pencil.
Place marks to the left and right of each center point at a distance of 13 mm. When finished, you should have a total of six marks: three on one long side, and three on the other.

Fold the sides of the bag into place. Be sure to maintain the landscape orientation as you work to fold the sides as follows

Place the right edge against the leftmost mark and fold. After smoothing, unfold it back. Repeat the same with the opposite side.
Turn the paper over, re-attach the left and right edges to the center and glue them together where they intersect. Make sure you fold exactly the same way as before (note that the folds will be on the other side). Let the glue dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Turn the bag over with the adhesive side facing in. Make sure one of the open sides is pointing towards you.

Fold the side folds inward like an accordion. You need to arrange the sides of the bag so that it opens into a rectangle.

Using a ruler, measure about 3.8 cm from the left edge of the bag. Make a mark with a pencil.
Place the left side fold of the bag against the inside of the bag. Do this while the previous mark you made is on the outside edge of the fold line.
Fold the paper down so that the pencil mark lines up with the new folded edge. When smoothing the paper, try to maintain symmetry between the top and bottom edges.
Repeat the procedure with right side. When finished, the base of the bag should fold inward on both sides, like a shopping bag.

Prepare the bottom of the bag. To determine its location, find the fold lines that you made earlier - this will be the bottom. Keep the bag folded.

Fold and seal the bottom of the bag. Once you have determined which side the bottom is on, fold it up.
Bend the bag 10 cm from the bottom edge and fold it along this line.
Open the package slightly, keeping the main part folded. The inner folds of the bag should open to form a rectangle. Inside on each side you should have a triangle folded from paper.

Finish the bottom of the bag. You will need to fold several sides towards the center. Focus on them triangular shape so that the bottom is level.

Fold the left and right sides of the open square down. Use the outer edges of the triangle as a guide. When you're finished, the bottom will be shaped like an elongated octagon - it will have 8 sides instead of the 4 it had before.
Fold the bottom of the octagon up toward the center of the bottom of the bag.
Fold the top of the octagon down toward the center of the bottom of the bag. Bottom part should now be neatly closed; glue the intersecting edges and let them dry.

Kraft paper bag

Before you start following the master class on creating craft bags, you need to collect the following materials:

sheet of kraft paper;
scissors;
glue;
hole puncher;
ribbon, lace or rope.

We place the sheet in front of us in landscape projection. We bend one of the side edges towards ourselves. The fold width is approximately 2 cm.

Turn the sheet over and coat the top fold with glue. Glue the opposite edge to the fold.

We bend the resulting part at the sides to give the bag a square shape.

Bend the bottom of the bag away from you, about 5 cm.

After this, we bend the corners on the fold again into triangles to the line of the previous fold.

The side walls of the bag are brought into a flat position, while the mentioned trapezoids are slightly bent in the middle.

To glue the bottom, glue is applied pointwise to the sides of the trapezoids and the space between them, after which the sides of the trapezoids are bent inward. First this is done for one side of the two trapezoids, then for the other.

After the glue dries, the bottom straightens - the bag can already stand on its own. The top of the bag should be slightly bent towards the bottom and holes should be made in it with a hole punch through which the ribbon for tying is threaded. Depending on the size of the package needed, the paper is drawn according to the sample provided. If you want to design your future handbag individually, then you need to do it at this stage - while the pattern is a flat surface;
The outer edges of the rectangle are folded and coated with glue;
They are then combined to form a paper tube.

The paper is folded along the drawn lines - side ribs are formed. After the ribs have already been made, smooth out the paper tube and bend the lower part to one side.The corners are folded on this lower part.

Then the bend is straightened, and the marked corners are bent inward. The lapels are smeared with glue and combined. Pressing firmly helps the paper stick together smoothly.The bottom of the bag is straightened, and the structures are allowed time to dry.

Then there is the opportunity to experiment. You can simply bend the top edge of the package and trim it with curly scissors, creating an interesting wave. Cover the edges with paper tape and draw a geometric pattern on it...

You can do it even simpler, without complicating your life by drawing out the sheet. In this case, you can do without forming the side ribs. Rectangular craft the sheet is folded in half and the bottom of the package is formed, as in the previous case.

The product will differ little in appearance, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to put large gifts in such a package.

Algorithm for making package No. 3

This method explains how to make a gift bag from thick paper. The pattern and marking of the sheet will have to be done more carefully. From the list of tools you can remove items that will later decorate the product.

Cut out the pattern along all the necessary lines. The bottom is glued with cardboard - this will make the package more durable. The cardboard is folded along the lines and glued. Upper the edges bent inward and pierced with a hole punch.This packaging is more reliable.

To prevent the seams from coming apart, after gluing it is advisable to put the product under a press, especially if you worked with glossy paper. This paper will make the gift bag bright and festive.

Of all the proposed options, this is the simplest. The gift bag can be formed according to a sample, which can be a rectangular box of the desired size.

This is done as follows:

cut out a rectangle several times larger than the size of the sample;
the edge that is to be the top is folded inward;
the box is applied to the top edge, wrapped in paper on all sides;
form the bottom by bending the parts inward.

It is better to seal the side with PVA glue, and the bottom with tape.

How is paper packaging used?

It's not just gifts that are wrapped in paper. A folder made of this universal material will help out when you don’t have a file at hand, but you need to fold several documents. You can also glue the box for sending parcels yourself.

To make a folder, you need to take a sheet of thick paper and cut out the following shape for the future packaging, leaving an indentation of 1.5-2 cm on each side. Then these indentations are coated with glue, the parts of the folder are folded inward, the result is a package like an envelope.

I used Lomond photo paper with a density of 120 g/m², and I must say that for bags of this size this density is more than enough.

In addition, since the bag will have handles, I prepared a hole punch and 2 pieces of decorative cord.

1. Cut out the development along the contour, turn it over and draw scoring lines along the ruler, connecting the marks remaining outside the contour.

By the way, exactly the same creasing method is applicable for a matchbox cover if it is decorated in a graphic editor (using template No. 2).

2. Bend the paper along the fold lines.

3. Apply a strip of double-sided tape like this:

And glue the edges of the development.

4. Form the bottom of the bag:

Now we glue it together using tape.

5. Wrap the top of the bag inside

and punch holes for the handles with a hole punch.

6. Insert the cords into the holes, tying knots at the ends.

To make the remaining three bags, I used designer paper made using the napkin technique.

I did them like this:

- cut out according to the printed template and punched (the dashed lines are visible here - this is from a preliminary version of the template),

- glued double-sided tape over the entire area of the strip,

— I folded the edges towards the middle and glued them.

After that I cut out 2 paper strips 1 cm wide and 7 cm long, with their help I glued the handles to the bag from the inside.

All that remains is to create the bottom on gift item. Cut out a rectangle from cardboard that will fit the bottom. Create a fold along the line that lies at the bottom of the package and open it. Fold a piece of cardboard inside and apply a little glue to the middle. First we will lay the short sides, and then the long ones. Coat the edges with glue and iron the bottom.

Making handles for bags

In most cases, handles for paper bags are made from a special cord, but you can also use satin ribbons, braid or other materials. It is important that the materials are durable. You need to cut two pieces of cord of the same size. We advise you to burn their edges a little so that they do not unravel.

Now we need to punch holes, into which we will insert handles. To make the bag stronger with your own hands, glue strips of cardboard under the folded part on top. Using a grommet machine, you should create two holes, on the front and back sides of the product, while punching the paper together with the cardboard. The holes should be in the place where you plan to attach the handles. If you don't have a grommet machine, you can create holes with a hole punch. All that remains is to insert the handles.
