In the article you will find information on the patterns of several outfits that are sure to be useful to the baby for a particular occasion. A simple pattern of a dress or sundress for a girl

This pattern option is very simple and affordable. It is ideal for those mothers who are not particularly strong in sewing, but they have a great desire to please their baby with a new thing. As already mentioned, the pattern is as simple as possible, but the product sewn on it is distinguished by its beauty and versatility. The dress will be a great summer outfit. Your inner instinct, sense of taste and imagination will help you to make it special. Here, the main thing is to choose the right material and decorative elements.

Regarding the material, in this case, it is necessary to give preference to natural fabrics, in particular linen or cotton. They will not cause an allergy in the child, they will be pleasant to the body and aesthetically attractive. You can decorate such an outfit with embroidery, applique, bows and so on.

Now we go directly to the pattern itself. It consists of two parts - the front and back parts. The main requirement for such a dress is the moment that it should be free, comfortable, light, not hamper the movements of the girl during games, walks. Based on this, the main measurement will be the measurement of the volume of the hips. It is better to leave stock when cutting the product, then the dress will be more beautiful, magnificent and comfortable. But this is if you have enough fabric available. If the segment is small, then we do everything according to the standards.

For each of the details of the dress, we take half measurements. Do not forget that when constructing a drawing of the pattern, you must also draw the length of the neck of the neck. Approximately it will be from nine to twelve centimeters. But these indicators are relative, since each child has his own physique and his own height.

By and large, our pattern is ready. It remains for us to transfer it to a pre-selected fabric, to cut it, while it is absolutely necessary to leave allowances for all available seams and sew. Thus, we figured out a simple everyday outfit that can be made more festive with the help of decor.

How to make a Christmas dress for a girl

With the simplest version of the dress, we figured it out. As you can see, there is nothing complicated about this. Now we will go to the side, to cut and sew which will be somewhat more difficult. But there is nothing impossible for a reasonable person, especially if this is a mother who just needs to sew a beautiful New Year's costume for her girl. If you need to sew a dress for a costume of snowflakes, snow maiden, fairies, then this option will definitely suit you. The main thing is to choose the right material. For the upper part of the dress, it is best to use satin. It is also necessary to take it for sewing the lower skirt. The upper skirt will look best if you sew it from organza.

The pattern is very simple. You can make it from a regular T-shirt, which can be found in every closet.

Patterns from a regular T-shirt

To make it easier to make a pattern even of the most elegant dress, needlewomen use a very simple way, namely an old T-shirt, which every girl probably has in stock. The main thing is that this T-shirt or t-shirt fit the baby in size. Steaming the product is not required. It is enough just to cut it at all seams. You need to start with the sleeves, then at the seams of the shoulders and so on. Provided that the dress is sleeveless, they should be cut off in a T-shirt. If the sleeves are nevertheless needed, then we leave them in the T-shirt.

Now you need to take all the necessary measurements from the baby. This is a rather difficult task for a beginner needlewoman.

 • First, measure the distance from the shoulder to the waist. Thus, we get the length of the upper part of the dress.
 • The second measurement is the length of the product from the waist to the very bottom of the dress. For the convenience of taking measurements around the baby’s waist, you can not very tightly tie a rope or ribbon.
 • On the front part of the T-shirt, we apply the measurements that we have obtained. We draw expressive lines connecting the points of measurements. Remember to leave room for seam allowances. Cut out the details.
 • We will attach the resulting detail to the back of the T-shirt and circle, marking the bottom edge. Now we will cut this part according to new drawings.

The pattern of the upper part of the dress is ready. For sewing the bottom of the product - skirts, you do not need to do a pattern.

How to cut a dress

We will start cutting with the cutting of a skirt. First, from the fabric from which we will sew the upper part of the dress (it may be an satin, as we mentioned earlier), cut a strip. Its length should be two and a half - three meters, and a width of half a meter. These half a meter will become the width of the skirt. Now we will make a similar action from the fabric, which we will take for the upper layer of the skirt, it is better if it is organza.

Having prepared everything you need for the bottom of the dress, go to the top of it. We take ready-made patterns, apply it to the fabric, always on its wrong side, and circle it. In order to be able to sew in a zipper (fastener), the back part is folded in half in length and cut from above in a downward direction by ten centimeters.

Both parts, upper and lower, are ready. We just have to make a belt. From the remnants of the fabric from which we make the upper skirt, in our case it is an organza, cut out a ribbon whose width is twenty centimeters.

The belt and various decorative elements are very convenient and practical to make from the remnants of the used material. Therefore, if pieces of fabric remain with you, do not discard them, as well as patterns. They will definitely come in handy for creating other outfits.

Dress stitching process

 • First, we will process the incision, which we have designed for the fastener. We sew it up. There are two ways - we use a double strip or a fringing braid.
 • Stitch and overcast shoulder sections. Be sure to iron them towards the front side.
 • Now we turn over the cuts of the armhole.
 • Further action - we are taken for the bottom of the dress, the skirt. To do this, we will connect both strips of two types of fabric. Stitch, overcast and iron.
 • Now we embed one section of the skirt on one fabric and on another.
 • When stitching on a typewriter we make a stitch so that the upper thread looped. Now connect the two layers that will make up the skirt. We turn the connected stripes from the wrong side to the front side. We put one of the closed sides (the first strip) into the second. Unprocessed sections are chopped with pins and stitched.
 • We tighten the free ends of the threads at the same time and evenly distribute the folds on the skirt. The width of the skirt should fully match the width of the upper part of the dress.
 • Now we connect the upper and lower parts of the dress. The top of the dress should be off the face. A skirt from the inside out. When connecting the two parts, the top should go slightly into the skirt. Dress bodice decoration is up to you. You can use, for example, lace.
 • It remains to process the belt and attach a flower of fabric to it.

Dress for the New Year's costume, we sewed.

Now try independently cut and sew an elegant ball gown.

A gorgeous evening dress is sure to come in handy for the girl, especially since there is a graduation party in the kindergarten ahead. As in all previous cases, the pattern remains the basis in the process of its creation. It is on her that we will sew our outfit of a little princess. Therefore, we need to do it as correctly and accurately as possible. And to make the dress really beautiful, carefully select the fabrics from which it will be sewn.

The fabric should be pleasant to the touch, should not weigh down the finished product, bring discomfort to the baby while wearing. It should be light and airy. Color depends entirely on your wishes and the wishes of your girl.

The second point is the style. Carefully study the wishes of the child and choose the most suitable option. As a decor, you can choose rhinestones, beads, bows and so on.

Now let's get down to the pattern. You can greatly simplify your task and take advantage of the previous pattern from a T-shirt. Thus, the pattern of the upper part of the dress is already ready. It remains the case for the lower part - a fluffy skirt.

To carve and sew a fluffy skirt, by and large, is not at all difficult. We will need to cut a segment of a rectangular shape, the width of which will be four times the volume of the hips of the child. The length of the product is arbitrary. You decide what it will be. To sew the belt, you will need a tape made of fabric, the width of which will be more than the waist volume exactly one meter, and the length will be ten centimeters.

The optimal length of the dress is considered to be the length reaching the middle of the lower leg. A similar length is convenient when the baby is moving.

Remember, tailoring dresses requires trying on at all stages of work.

I hope these tips and ideas will help you realize your dreams and ideas.

Below is a description of sewing an elegant dress for christening from one of our readers.

Initially, I planned to sew a beautiful dress for my niece, which she could wear for baptism and a couple of holidays. This model liked its simplicity and the ability to choose a pattern for the desired size. My niece has already outgrown a little 92, but does not reach 98cm (the girl is 2.5 years old). I decided to sew a little outgrowth and chose a 98 cm pattern. As it turned out later, I did the right thing, because she got into it with difficulty. I printed and cut out the patterns, for sewing as the main fabric I chose white chintz and as an additional upper tier of the skirt - lace. I bought 2.5 meters of lace braid, three flower bows and thin braid with rhinestones-2 meters. Although the pattern came with sleeves and I even cut them out, I did not sew in. I decided that without them this dress would look nicer. I made double patterns for the body to the waist - so that the chintz would not shine through and so that it looked neater. Then I sewed all the details into them, I got patterns to the waist in duplicate. I grinded the necks, cuts for the head and turned the product upside down. After that, I sewed on the front side of the armhole, pre-bending the ends and letting thin lace at the seams so that they were not noticeable. The top of the product was almost ready. I want to note that I tailored exactly 98 cm in patterns; I did not make additional allowances for seams. And then, when the dress was already ready, it sat back to back. Therefore, if you sew exactly to your size, then lay extra on extra allowances so that the girl fits well. You can also slightly increase the neckline, sew a zipper in the back, or plant small buttons. In order for the child’s head to pass without problems, it is necessary that the two halves of the backrest are sewn together only at the very bottom and leave a deep cut. On this I was a little stalled and I had to embroider it twice, doing more.
After that, I started to pattern the bottom, only I decided to make the upper lace layer of the skirt more magnificent and therefore cut it not like the bottom - with the sun, but simply assembled it and stitched it. I cut the bottom layer exactly according to the finished pattern. It turned out very elegant and in length - just right. I hemmed the bottom of the upper lace layer with rhinestones. So that the threads would not catch my eye, I sewed with a very thin fishing line. She was transparent and barely noticeable. I hemmed the bottom layer of the dress with lace. After I connected the top and bottom of the dress from the inside and processed all the edges on a typewriter. I wanted the bottom of the dress to somehow play - for this, I slightly grabbed the accordion and lifted the ends of the skirt in front from two sides. In the places of capture, I sewed on a white flower and another on the left side of the chest. To make the dress look even more elegant, I bought a very wide transparent ribbon-mesh with large flowers embroidered with white braid. I sewed it at the waist to the outside of the dress with hand stitches in a transparent thin line. Because of its large size, it turned out that the top of the braid was under the chest, and the bottom went to the lace skirt. But it looked good. On the back of the cross-section, I sewed a small button and made an air loop of white thread. But since, as I already wrote, the cut had to be extended, the button there needed at least three. I then finished them. On this my work with the dress ended - it turned out to be very airy and beautiful.

To make a pattern of children's dresses and sundresses, it is not necessary to be able to sew dresses for adults and to be a master of sewing. Many models of dresses and sarafans are sewn very simply, and it will take no more than 30 minutes to build a pattern. A dress with a size for little ladies will be special and individual, in contrast to the one bought in a store.

Simple option

The simplest dress is one-piece, which is sewn from any materials. It is suitable for ages from 1 year to 3 years. For 3 years, many sew more difficult dresses, but as a summer light option, this style is also suitable for 5 years. Patterns of children's dresses for girls can easily be found in our material.

The basis for the dress can be downloaded free of charge on the Internet, and then adjusted to the required sizes and supplemented with details - ties, pockets, an extra skirt, buttons. But it’s more interesting to do it yourself, especially since it does not take much time. Learn how to make such an outfit, learn below.

 • Prepare paper for the pattern. Find in the daughter’s wardrobe a T-shirt that is not small to her;
 • Then put the shirt on the paper and smooth it so that there are no unnecessary creases. Circle the outline of the T-shirt, or just the outline of the neck and armhole. Next, the lines need to be expanded to the bottom, and rounded down. It’s not scary if the pattern turns out asymmetric, since only half of the product is needed for sewing.

 • Choose the length of the dress, matched by age. Choose the neckline of the dress. Next, measure the circumference of the child’s chest, divide it in half, having received a half-girth. Determine the value of A and B. If the child is not nearby, or you are sewing as a gift to someone, you can refer to the tables, which indicate the sizes for small children.

 • Measure the distance to allowances so that the dress fits freely on the child;
 • Divide the pattern in half and cut, since only one half is useful, you can choose the most successful half if they turned out different.

Summer model

Summer sundresses come in completely different models: from simple ties to complex patterned layered sundresses. Consider two sundresses. For a sarafan, a child under five years old will not need difficult patterns. You can make a simple dress on the straps.

It is even easier to sew a sundress pulled by tape. And it looks bright and beautiful, suitable for any age of the child.

For teenage girl

It’s not much harder to sew a sarafan for 10 years, but it’s unlikely that everything can be done by eye, so it’s better to take the basic pattern of the dress as the basis.

It will be a tight sleeveless dress with a large bow in front.

Front and back. The neckline needs to be deepened by 3-4 cm, to build a new neckline according to the specified parameters. To dress emphasized the beauty of the figure, it must be fitted and expanded downward. On the back, at the waist line, retreat 1.5 cm, increase the bottom line by 3 cm. Since the dress has thin straps, the shoulder needs to be reduced by 2.5 cm and a new armhole should be made. Then, about 3 cm wide, grind the neck and grind the armhole.

Color transition. The dress will be with a color transition, so the horizontal lines should be noted color change on the dress. It is necessary to make both on the front part, and on the back pattern.

Cut the pattern and you can start sewing.

The basis of the outfit

To sew many dresses for your child, you can make a base pattern, according to which in the future it will be easy to sew any dress. To do this, make measurements:

 • Lengths: back to waist, total length, shoulders, sleeves;
 • Half-girths: neck and chest.

Draw a rectangle on graph paper ABCD, AD-length of the dress, AB and BC –width = Pog + 4cm for stock.

Please note that the allowance can be made smaller, then the dress will fit more tightly.

From A retreat 1/3 * Pog + 6 cm and place G. From G draw a line to the aircraft, mark G1. Depart A from A and mark the melancholy T, draw a line from it to the aircraft and put a point T1. Divide GG1 into two equal parts, mark G4 and draw a line from it to DC, designate H and H2. From Г4 to the right and left, set aside ½ * the width of the armhole (Wn = ¼ * Pog + 2 cm). Put G2 and G3. From G2 and G3, build straight lines up to AB, put P1 and P. From B and P1, step back 2 cm, put P2 and P3. Make a cut P2P3. Divide PG2 into two equal sections, and divide PG13 into three sections similarly.

To retreat from A to the right 1/3 * Posch + 0.5cm, and another 1.5 cm to the right, connect the curve with A, you can use the pattern. Depart from P to 1.5 cm, draw a shoulder line at the points received, length = Dp. Divide the G2 angle in half and retreat on the resulting line 2.5 cm, draw a line to G4.

2 cm to retreat from T2, through G4 and the resulting point draw a line to DC, not finishing 1cm to the end. DH divided in half, connect the resulting point with 1 cm. From P3, retreat 1/3 * Posch + 1cm down. From P3 back 1/3 * Posh + 0.5 cm to the left. Connect the obtained points with a concave line. 3 cm to retreat from P2 and draw a shoulder line. G3 angle divided in half. Draw an armhole line through the division П1Г3 to the point Г4. To retreat from T2 2 cm to the left, draw a seam line from G4 to DC, not reaching the end of 1 cm. From T1 to retreat 2 cm down and connect to point 2 on the seam. From C, make the segment BC 2 cm larger, connect the points along the bottom.

The pattern is ready, it can be used as the basis for any dress of little princesses!

Fashion for children's clothing is as diverse and volatile as it is for outfits for adults. It is in childhood that the child receives the first style lessons, so careful parents should try to instill good taste in their babies from an early age.

Modern styles of children's dresses are quite diverse. Despite the fact that designers prefer to use the most simple patterns, clothes look interesting, thanks to the use of bright fabrics with prints and decoration.

The main features of fashionable children's dresses

Photos of fashionable children's clothing make it clear that designers offer a variety of models to small fashion designers. The following features of fashionable dresses for girls can be distinguished:

 • the most relevant styles of dresses for girls are distinguished by a free silhouette and comfort;
 • the color scheme prefers a combination of pastel colors and the use of contrasting finishes;

 • for the decor of elegant models often use lace, bows, frills and shuttlecocks;
 • the use of ethnic motifs is relevant - the cut of dresses in the style of a Russian sundress, the use of traditional folk embroidery;

 • when sewing summer models, mainly bright fabrics with prints are used - polka dots, with a floral pattern. Fashionable winter dresses can be no less bright, often used fabric in a cage, striped;
 • fabrics for children's dresses are used natural. In summer you should choose dresses made of cotton materials with a small addition of elastane, in winter, preference is given to woolen fabrics. Dresses from knitwear are very convenient for children.

Casual outfits

Dresses for every day for babies sew a free silhouette on a round or square yoke. Little girls are usually very mobile, so you need to make sure that clothes do not hamper their movements. Fashionable casual dresses for girls over five are more diverse.

The most popular types of dresses for girls of different ages:

 • Tunic. Dress in the form of a tunic - comfortable clothes for free time. The outfit is suitable for girls of any age. The summer version of the tunic is worn with leggings or breeches and sandals. Winter warm tunics are combined with tight leggings and boots.
 • Sweater dress. For a cold season, a knitted sweater dress will be an excellent option. The model can be made in the form of a sundress or sleeve. In the first case, the dress is worn with a turtleneck. Since the sweater dress is relatively short, then dense tights or leggings are sure to be selected for it.

 • High waist dress. This version of the dress looks cute on both little girls and older girls. The big advantage of this model is its free cut. In summer, dresses of this style are sewn from chintz or fine knitwear, in winter - from wool. The dress looks great with ballet shoes and boots. For decor use lace braid, ribbons, embroidery.
 • A-Line Dress. A one-piece dress in the shape of a trapeze is a great option for little girls. It has a free cut, so it is convenient to play outdoor games in it. Dresses of this silhouette can be sewn from both light and dense fabrics.

 • Cutting dress at the waist. Dresses of this style are sewn mainly for girls over five years old. The dress may have a fastener in front or on the back. The skirt can be in the form of a trapeze, as well as the “sun” cut.
 • Sundress. This is one of the most popular types of clothing for the summer for all women, regardless of age. A sundress for a girl can have wide or narrow straps, be short or reach the middle of the lower leg. Summer sundresses are sewn from bright and light fabrics, for decoration use ruffles, shuttlecocks, braid. But there is also a winter version of a sundress, for sewing such a dress, dense fabrics based on wool are suitable. Such a sundress is worn over a turtleneck or blouse. It can have a trapezoidal or fitted silhouette.

 • T-shirt dress. Considering the styles of children's summer dresses, one can not help but mention this style of dress. Its difference from a sundress is a straight silhouette, these patterns are sewn from thin knitwear. Models are very convenient for everyday wear, homework and outdoor games.

Special Occasion Dresses

Life consists not only of everyday life. For holidays and special occasions, elegant dresses are needed. Models of evening and cocktail dresses for girls are very diverse. In many ways, children's fashion imitates an adult, however, when choosing styles, you need to consider the age of the child.

 • tight short dresses;
 • dresses with deep cuts on the chest or back;
 • models with a narrow skirt and a high slit.

It is undesirable to choose dresses for the following styles for children:

 • strapless bustier dresses (such a dress will constantly slide, especially if the girl is mobile);
 • corset dresses (this option is unacceptable for babies, girls over 10 years old may well wear a corset, you just need to make sure that the model is not too tight);
 • mermaid style, that is, a dress of tight-fitting style with a flared skirt from the line of the knees or the middle of the hips. Moving in such a dress is not too convenient and the girl is unlikely to feel comfortable in it.

Therefore, choosing an outfit for a graduation matinee in kindergarten or elementary school, pay attention not only to its beauty, but also to how comfortable it is. For example, you should not buy a dress with a skirt on the floor. Such a model looks very beautiful, but it looks like it is only for photo shoots. Running, taking part in competitions and dancing in such an outfit will make the girl comfortable.

Dress of cut "princess"

This is perhaps the most popular style of elegant dresses for girls. These are models with a fitted bodice and fluffy skirts. The skirt can be layered or have a tulle or organza petticoat.

The bodice of such a dress can be very simple or decorated with embroidery or sequins. But the skirts should be surely magnificent and flying. Wide belts with bows are often used for decoration.

Empire style

A popular option for children's elegant dresses is an empire style outfit. Its distinction is a high waistline and a flying loose skirt. The dress can be on wide straps or have sleeves-lanterns.

For sewing these models use light fabrics of pastel colors. For decoration, bows, ribbons, artificial flowers are used.

A-shaped models

Models in the shape of a trapezoid can be cut-off along the waistline or one-piece. These dresses have a concise cut, so it is recommended to sew them from beautiful textured fabrics. For example, from guipure, jacquard, velvet, brocade. You can also use large decorative details, for example, beautiful brooches in the form of flowers.

Accessories

So that the girl could feel like a real princess, she should choose beautiful shoes for an elegant dress, as well as make a festive hairstyle. It is advisable to use hair accessories - hoops, tiaras, beautiful hairpins. You can use children's jewelry - beads, bracelets, clips.

You can complement the elegant look with a beautiful little handbag. It is better if it will be attached to the belt or on the wrist, otherwise the baby is likely to lose it quickly.
