and offer your version of the dog. Unlike Tatyana, I knit the dog from the bottom up, change the shape of the muzzle and tail, and make other front paws (handles).

For work you will need:
- yellow yarn (2018 is the year of the yellow earth dog),
- filler,
- hook,
- scissors,
- needles (with a large eye and a regular one),
- threads for sewing eyes,
- beads for the eyes.
- a thin tube for stuffing the legs and tail (I used an old ballpoint pen refill),
- some black wool and a needle for felting the spout (but you can embroider, glue or knit the spout).

I knitted dogs from Alize Cotton Gold cotton yarn (100 g / 330 m) and acrylic yarn "Pekhorka children's voluminous" (50 g / 200 m). The height of the toy is about 8-9 cm.

PENS
If you have only one skein of yellow threads, we start by knitting handles (they will then need to be inserted into a semi-tied torso).

We leave the long end of the thread (40-50 cm). We knit a chain of 3 VP.
Insert the hook into the second loop from the hook and knit a connecting post.

We knit the second SS on the third loop from the hook (the first loop of knitting). Got the first finger.

We collect 2 air loops.

Insert the hook into the second loop from the hook and knit the SS. Then we introduce a hook under two loops (indicated in the photo by arrows) - the extreme loop of the first finger and the initial loop of knitting.

We knit SS. Got a second finger.

Again we collect 2 air loops, in the second from the hook we knit the SS. Then we introduce a hook under 3 loops (indicated in the photo by arrows) - the extreme loop of the second finger, the extreme loop of the first finger and the initial loop of knitting.

We knit SS. Got a third finger.
Now we knit the handle (cord). Yarn over with the left long end of the thread, hook the main thread with a hook and knit two loops together, yarn over again, etc. We make a yarn over from the bottom up from ourselves.

We knit about 25-27 loops (so that this cord can then be tied in a knot). We fix the thread. We cut off the ends, leaving 7-8 cm, so that it is convenient to hook them with a hook when we insert the handles.

Then we knit along the jumper from the air loops, picking up the loops by the upper edge (5 sc).

We pass to the second leg and tie it (10 RLS).

Again we knit along the jumper (5 RLS). Make sure that holes do not form between the posts at the junction of the legs and the VP. If a hole remains, it is better to knit an extra column into it.

BODY
Continuing to knit in a circle, we make increases from the sides of the body. We knit 5 sc around the leg, an increase, and then in a circle to the other side, we also make an increase there. In principle, the columns can not be counted, but the places of the increase "by eye" can be determined so that they are more or less symmetrical. I knit 2 rows with increments (only 4 increments - 2 on each side), but 3-4 rows of increments are also possible (the dog will be thicker).

Then we knit straight without increments of 8-9 rows. Having knitted several rows, we stuff the legs. We stuff it tightly so that the dog can stand. For stuffing the legs, it is convenient to use some kind of thin tube. I tamp the filler with an old ballpoint pen refill.
In order not to go astray, I mark with a thread cutter the side from which I begin to make reductions.

We make decreases from the sides in every second row. When decreasing, we knit two columns together, grabbing only the front walls of the loops (decreases will be less noticeable).

After making 2-3 reductions, insert the handles. We bring the hook out between the posts, pull the ends of the threads inward, and then pull them with our hands so that the cord goes into the hole.

We check the symmetry of the handles.

Tie a knot inside.

Before tightly tightening the knots, we again check whether the handles are the same in length, whether they are symmetrical. If necessary, turn the handle in the hole (after stuffing, it will be almost impossible to correct the wrong position).

We continue to knit with decreases in every second row until 24 columns remain around the circumference of the neck. We stuff the body.

Then we decrease in each row 6 times:
(2 RLS, UB) * 6 = 18
(1 RLS, UB) * 6 = 12
UB*6 = 6

When 6 loops remain, we cut and fasten the thread, and sew up the hole: we pass the needle through the outer edge of all six loops and tighten.

If these loops at the crown stick out too much, it may be worth leaving not 6, but 7-8 loops when decreasing. We fix and hide the end of the thread.

I tie my ears directly to my head. We leave the long end of the thread for tying the edge (at least 50-60 cm). Then we knit RLS in the next gap, and so on. In total, we knit 4 RLS.

Preparations for the new year are already beginning, and many needlewomen, following the tradition, knit, sew, make animals from different materials - the symbols of each year.

All kinds of crocheted dogs - the symbol of 2018 are now very common. I am not a fan of knitting toys, and I don’t have time for it, but such a funny New Year’s dog crocheted in the form of a Christmas tree ball especially attracted my attention. It is very easy to make and I decided to knit to tell you. I drew diagrams, made a description and a master class.

Crocheting this little New Year's dog is so easy that even a beginner needlewoman can handle it.

It is a ball on which knitted paws, ears, tail, nose and eyes are attached.

For knitting, I used light orange Peony threads from Fixprice, which I found at home, a little white and black Iris threads, hook No. 1.5.

I specifically purchased the eyes in a needlework store.

Crochet a ball - a dog

First of all, we will knit the dog's body - a small ball with single crochets.

We start knitting with white yarn.

I cast on 2 air loops and knitted 6 single crochets in the first row, at the beginning of knitting we introduce the hook into the second loop.

Having connected 5 rows, we will already have a dog's belly.

In the sixth row, we change the thread to a colored one and continue to knit all the other rows with it.

By the ninth row you should get a circle of 48 loops.

And from the 15th row we make decreases (we knit two columns together) in the reverse order with respect to the rows with increases: i.e. after 6, then after 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 column.

Knit tighter so that there are no gaps and holes.

By the end of knitting, you need to fill the resulting ball with holofiber. Stuff more material, the ball should turn out to be plump.

When the ball is ready, we tighten the last loops, cut the thread and hide its tip.

Doggy ears

In the middle part of the ear, we will tie a strip with white threads and tie it with colored threads.

It is better to use a darker yarn, but I didn’t have another, I knitted all the details in one color.

We collect a chain of 10 VP.

1st row: 9 sc with white thread.

2 row: we attach a colored thread, 1 VP, 3СБН, 1 half-column with a crochet (make a yarn over, pull the thread and knit all three loops on the hook at once), 3С1Н, 5С1Н in the extreme loop of the chain and in reverse order on the other side of the chain - 3С1Н, 1 half-column with a crochet, 4СБН.

Paws

We crochet the paws of our New Year's dog again on 10 air loops.

1st finger: 2 sc.

2nd finger: we continue to knit from the first finger - 2CH, then we knit 1СБН on them, inserting the hook under the second air loop, 1СБН, inserting the hook into the base of the second column of the first finger.

We knit the 3rd finger from the second: again 2ch, 1sc in the 2nd ch, 1sc at the base of the first finger.

I drew a knitting direction on the diagram with a pencil and circled the junction of the fingers.

When the fingers are tied, we continue to tie the chain with single crochets.

Tail

The tail of the dog is a straight strip of 10 VPs and single crochets along it.

I knitted the spout with black iris like a small circle: three rows with an increase in the number of loops and another row without increases.

Assembly of toy parts - dogs

1. We unfold the ball so that the white belly is not in the center, but from the bottom.
2. Choose a place for the nose.

We crush the circle of the nose with our fingers from three sides so that it takes the form of a triangle.

We pin the nose with pins to the ball, sew it with a needle and thread, tighten the sides of the nose (pull up the “nostrils”).

It was also supposed to sew a bead on the spout, but I didn’t have anything suitable at home, and I didn’t buy a whole package for the sake of one.

1. We outline the places for the ears and sew them on.
2. We sew the front paws from the sides in the central part of the ball at the level of the ears.

2. I glued the eyes on the “moment” glue, took them ready for toys, but you can cut and glue pieces of felt, and the pupils on them are half beads.

No matter how I twisted my eyes, the look of the dog still turns out to be sad. Only if you put her on her back, she starts to play around and roll her eyes.

1. Cut out a base circle from thick cardboard.
2. Cut out a circle from the fabric, one and a half to two times larger than the base in diameter, pull it together with a “forward needle” seam laid along the edge. Put a solid base inside.
3. By a similar principle, make the top of the cylinder.
4. Side: cut a long strip of thick cardboard and cover it with fabric so that the edges do not stick out. Connect at the back with a hidden seam.
5. Sew or glue the top of the hat to the side so that the side fits snugly against the top and forms a cylinder. Attach the design to the bottom base and decorate the hat.

You can attach this to your hair with hairpins or a headband.
