What to glue groats in crafts. Buckwheat applications. Crafts from cereals and seeds: master classes

 Crafts from grains, cereals and various seeds with their own hands are a great way to entertain children with benefit, because working with such natural material perfectly trains fine motor skills of hands, which helps to improve general and speech development. Also, such classes help to bring up patience, diligence and perseverance in children.

Features of creativity using natural materials

Crafts from groats with their own hands can be done not only by schoolchildren, because such a joint work is suitable even for young children. True, the kids will need to be inseparable so that they do not hurt themselves.

So, as a material you may find it useful:

 • all kinds of cereals and grains - buckwheat, rice, millet, semolina;
 • legumes - peas, lentils and colorful beans;
 • any seeds and seeds - watermelon, pumpkin, melon and sunflower, etc.

You can even take it. Also in the process, you will need: thick paper or cardboard, glue, scissors, fabric, plasticine, patterns of various patterns, decorations (as you wish).

The best crafts from cereals, seeds and seeds with your own hands are applications and paintings. You can invent stories with your child yourself or use some ready-made templates and transfer them to paper. The complexity of the work should depend on the age of the children, keep in mind that the baby should be interested in doing the crafts on their own, albeit with your help, but not be completely aloof.

We create applications and paintings with our own hands.

The theme of the work can be anything. But very beautiful and original crafts are obtained from grains and other natural materials on the theme of spring. Spring landscapes (crafts made from watermelon seeds and cereals), lush flowers (flowers from pumpkin seeds — asters, sunflowers, snowdrops — are especially good) are great ideas for children's creativity.

The more you use various cereals, seeds and seeds, the better, because all of them not only vary in size and shape, but also in color and texture. That is, you will have a huge space for imagination and creativity. And if for your craft from grains some special colors are needed, then you can always paint your materials using watercolor paints or gouache.

Try to start with a simple application. For example, as a craft from pumpkin seeds, you can make a basket with flowers.

 1. Draw the contours of the basket on a piece of thick paper or cardboard and spread them with glue.
 2. Next, lay pumpkin seeds along these contours to make a voluminous basket of them.
 3. Inside, in exactly the same way, draw flowers - these can be sunflowers, asters, poppies, daisies, snowdrops or any others. Use for their creation seeds of various sizes - pumpkin, watermelon, sunflower seeds.
 4. The middle of the flowers can be made of beads or covered with small grains.
 5. Paint your bouquet and paint the basket brown. You can decorate the application with sparkles or stickers, add some details from plasticine.

It is easy to make a vase of flowers on the theme of spring - just like a basket. So that children's crafts made from seeds are stored for a long time and do not crumble, you can spray them with hairspray or cover with transparent nail polish.

The favorite pastime for children will be the creation of applications and paintings with the image of various animals, birds or fish. Create a story with your child and translate a fairy tale using crafts made from pumpkin or watermelon seeds, as well as other various materials.

Incredibly cute are the fish, hedgehogs, bees, snails, ducks, cats and other animals. See how easy it is to make a hedgehog picture as a craft from seeds.

 1. Print a picture of a hedgehog or draw it yourself.
 2. Put a good layer of glue on his back and begin to gradually attach seeds to it (it can be watermelon seeds or sunflower seeds).
 3. Glue the seeds so that they are all directed with sharp tips in one direction.
 4. The rest of the body of the hedgehog can simply be painted, and on the thorns attach mushrooms or fruits made of plasticine to it.

But what an interesting picture you can create with a peacock using watermelon seeds, as well as semolina and corn grits.

 1. We draw a peacock on thick paper or print out a ready-made template (even ordinary coloring will do).
 2. Glue the round ends of the feathers with glue and cover them with corn grits. Do the same with the legs of a bird.
 3. When it dries a little, brush off the leftovers from the sheet.
 4. Garnish your feathers with watermelon seeds, sticking each one firmly.
 5. After some time, glue over the entire remaining image of the peacock, except for the head, and cover it with semolina, while clearing the contours with a toothpick.
 6. The head can be painted, and the picture can be decorated as you wish. As you can see, crafts from watermelon seeds are made very simple.

Other craft ideas from natural materials

A picture can be not only an image of something, but also just be a panel of cereals, seeds and other natural materials.

Such a panel is best done on fabric (as a rule, burlap or other natural fabric is used), but paper can also be taken. Divide your space into different sectors - these can be geometric shapes or abstraction, and then fill them with different grains and seeds (choose material of different colors, textures and shapes, combine them and try to combine them correctly).

For division of sectors take jute twine - then your natural panel will turn out more organic. Usually such paintings are not painted, but lacquer can be fixed.

With older children, you can try to create voluminous figures or toys, like crafts from seeds and cereals. Then the material will need to be attached to the frame of your product, for example, you can make a house for some fairy-tale hero, a shape for a candlestick or decorate a frame for photos.

DIY crafts from seeds is an idea of wonderful joint creativity with children, which will bring benefits and good mood for your whole family.

Loose products are excellent material for creating interesting applications, jewelry and souvenirs.

The popular crafts made from cereals for children do-it-yourself attract the attention of psychologists, parents and educators.

It is understandable, because the kids, fingering the smallest objects, develop fine motor skills of the hands, contributing to the improvement of speech and general development.

If parents do not have the opportunity to organize sand with their child, then cereals become an excellent substitute for natural material.

Semolina, buckwheat, millet, pearl barley, millet, rice, wheat grains can be supplemented with legumes (from lentils to colorful beans) and any seeds and seeds of vegetables and fruits that are perfect for creating all kinds of crafts for every taste.

Each cereal differs in shape, color and size.

Well-chosen varieties of ornamental material allow you to create bright and rather unusual products.

Even if the baby is too small, simply sorting through cereals is a more useful activity than watching cartoons.

This must be remembered!

 • Small cereals are considered the best choice for crafts.
 • Grains are dyed with iodine, gouache, brilliant green or food colors.
 • Covering the crafts with aerosol enamel in spray cans or ordinary colorless nail polish, you can permanently save the created masterpiece.

Varieties of crafts from cereals

 1. Drawn crafts. Skilled artists will need a baking sheet, cardboard, glass, photo frame, plain tray, round ceramic, plastic, cardboard plates, etc.
 2. Glue products. Little craftsmen will need a brush and PVA glue, a cloth, a bottle or a can, which can be supplemented with decorative elements.
 3. Indented appliqués. Different types of cereals are laid and crushed on a carefully crushed and flattened clay.
 4. Pouring crafts. Cereals, colored salt, granulated sugar are poured in separate layers into jars or bottles.
 5. Stringing things. The technique of putting various seeds on strings allows you to create an original decor.

In turn, luminous and embossed surfaces give a lot of new opportunities and create a festive atmosphere.

A variety of cereals and additional materials are selected depending on the intended result.

What can not be done?

Some parents buy special colored sand for crafts in stores. You should know that it is less environmentally friendly and safe for children two to three years old.

The main thing when creating original cereal products is the interest of the child.

Adults should not interfere with the work process. Children's creativity should be independent!

Adults should follow the smallest students, as they can pull the smallest elements into their mouths.

The creation of crafts should cause the child pleasure and joy.

Work

Applications from cereals for the smallest

Adults should prepare templates or large drawings of a snail, sun, lion, ladybug, giraffe, butterfly, cheburashka, etc. The future application can be drawn on its own or printed out, found on the Internet.

The topic of work can be any.

Applications from cereals for the smallest

Technique for creating applications:

 1. Glue is applied to the image.
 2. Pre-prepared cereals are poured on top with a thin layer and carefully leveled.
 3. If desired, the craft is decorated with additional materials.

3D drawings and volumetric objects

Young schoolchildren like to give volume to the figures due to the different textures of cereals and embossed surfaces.

The final result depends on your own idea: for example, you can decorate your favorite cartoon character in an original way and give it an interesting and unforgettable design.

Beautiful picture of cereals

Crafts from semolina

This type of cereal is great for children of preschool and primary school age.

 • The first step is to emphasize the contrast, take a dark-colored tray or a bright sheet of cardboard / paper.
 • The second step is pouring semolina semolina onto the work surface and leveling it over the entire area of the tray.

For children of kindergarten age, drawing with their fingers the simplest figures (triangle, square, circle), colors, numbers, letters and simple words is perfect. In case of any failure, the semolina should be aligned with the palm of your hand - the base is again ready for new creative ideas.

Crafts made from semolina by a child

School children are able to create a simple lamp, candlestick, vase, stand for pencils. The main material is a bowl, jar or any other glass vessel. PVA glue should be applied to the outside of the glass and sprinkled with grits. The final stage is coating the surface of the jar with nail polish or protective enamel.

 There are matchboxes in any home. - options with photos. Use the ideas suggested and choose what you like.

Options for crafts on the topic of traffic rules, see.

Crafts can be made not only from the boxes, but also from the matches themselves. From the matches you can create the most bizarre souvenirs. Photos of the work are presented.

Photo frame

Cardboard of round, rectangular or square shape is taken, in the center of which a photograph is glued. Around with a simple pencil should draw the contours of the desired patterns.

Glue is applied to the future decorated surface and the grits are glued on top with a thin layer.

The combination of contrasting cereals looks original. The finished product is varnished with spray or aerosol enamel.

Combined crafts

An interesting game of textures is created by alternating large and small grains and tea leaves, round or long-grain rice, seeds and legumes. This technique is great for decorating fluffy animals - cubs, dogs, kitties, monkeys.

Ornaments from cereals

Similarly to previous crafts, you can create all kinds of patterns in ethnic style. Cereal jewelry is interesting to real craftswomen who enjoy the creative process. Finished results are varnished, framed and used as a decor in the nursery.

Sometimes, in order to decorate a house or occupy a child with creativity, it is enough to look into the kitchen cabinet where the groceries are stored. Indeed, from cereals, beans, spices, grains and seeds, you can make decor in the style of eco or rustic, as well as developing children's crafts. The main thing is to show imagination and allocate some free time. In this material you will find 10 ideas and step-by-step instructions for making DIY cereals for children and adults, as well as a workshop on their coloring with food colors.

Idea 1. Topiary for table setting or interior decoration

Beans of bright colors are an excellent material for decorating a crown or a topiary pot. For example, from green peas you can create just such a decorative tree for spring home decoration or table setting for Easter.

Materials:

 • 1 pack of green peas (chopped and ground);
 • Foam ball base (sold in craft stores);
 • 1 pack of dry moss (any other material for decorating the "soil" of the topiary is also suitable);
 • 1 medium-sized clay pot;
 • PVA glue and thermo-glue in the gun;
 • Brush;
 • 1 wooden stick, skewer or a simple pencil (this will be the topiary trunk);
 • Acrylic paint of green color (for painting the ball in tone with peas);
 • Paints of the desired colors for the decoration of the pot (optional);
 • Styrofoam, floristic foam, or any setting mixture such as cement or alabaster.

Master Class:

Step 1. If you are not comfortable with the appearance of your pot and / or trunk, paint them and leave to dry.

Step 2. While the pot is drying, paint one half of the foam ball to match the beans and let it dry. When this happens, paint the other half of the bowl and leave it to dry as well.

Step 3. When the ball is completely dry, cut a hole for the barrel 2-3 cm deep with an awl or knife.

Step 4. Proceed to decorate it with peas. To do this, put it on a plate, with a brush, apply PVA glue to a small area and sprinkle peas abundantly on it.

Allow this area to dry a bit and begin to sprinkle the next part of the ball. Continue the procedure until the whole ball is overgrown with green peas, and then leave it to dry overnight.

Step 5. When the resulting crown dries, work on the spaces. To do this, glue the voids with glue and sprinkle them with grits again.

Step 6. Now insert the barrel into the ball, first pouring a drop of thermal glue into the hole made earlier. To keep the barrel tighter, you can lay pieces of paper around it and fill the hole with glue to the very top. Keep in mind that without paper, the glue will melt the foam and deepen the hole too much. Finally, when the trunk is fixed, shape the area around it with peas (if necessary).

Step 7. Engage in creating a fixing “soil” in the pot. In this workshop, floristic foam was used to fix the tree. If you also use foam or polystyrene, then you only need to adjust its size to the pot so that the tree stands smooth and firm. Otherwise, you can dilute any fixing composition according to the manufacturer's instructions.

Step 8. When the base of the topiary is ready, you only need to decorate it with moss, sisal, the same peas or any other cereal.

Idea 2. Panel or picture of cereals

Cereals, beans, grains and seeds come in a variety of colors, which means that they can "write" a picture or lay a mosaic panel. Depending on your idea and artistic skills, the drawing may be more detailed or very sketchy.

The following photo collection presents examples of children's crafts made from cereals and pasta in the form of applications.

In the next video, you can see the process of making cereal applications with the baby.

And here is a selection of examples of panels and paintings from cereals, which you can do with your own hands to decorate the interior (scroll the photo to the right).

Materials:

 • Various colored beans, cereals, seeds, pasta;
 • PVA glue and glue brush;
 • Thick and strong cardboard (for children's applications), a piece of plywood or canvas on a stretcher (for "adult" paintings);
 • Sketch drawing;
 • Paints and brushes.

Master Class:

 1. Paint the background of the painting in the desired color.
 2. Choose cereals that are suitable for the color of the selected picture and sort them into plates.
 3. Draw by hand or transfer to a cardboard a sketch, for example, through carbon paper or using a finished / home-made stencil.

 1. Put a thin layer of glue on a small area of the picture and immediately sprinkle on it a groats of the color that correspond to the picture in this area. When the area dries out a little, remove the excess cereal and continue to "paint" the picture in parts so that the glue does not have time to dry.
 • Remember that PVA glue dries completely in about 2 hours.

Idea 3. Decor frame

With the help of cereals, you can transform a simple frame for a photo, picture or mirror. You can fold a colored bean ornament or simply add relief to the surface by strewing with cereal.

If desired, the frame itself and the grits can be painted with spray paint.

By the same principle, you can decorate with cereal not only the frame, but also the interior letter as in the photo below. For the manufacture of such a letter were used: beans, purple paint in a spray can and a blank in the shape of the letter B, cut from plywood with a jigsaw.

And here’s the idea of cereal crafts for children - a magnet frame for a refrigerator with an ornament of colored beans.

To make such a cute photo frame, you just need to cut out the blank of the frame from cardboard, decorate it with colored beans according to the mosaic principle, and then glue a couple of magnets on the inside.

Idea 4. Decor of vases and bottles

Cereals can be used as a decorative filler for glass vases and bottles for candles, artificial flowers, twigs, dried flowers, makeup brushes and even knives. The following selection of photos presents examples of candlesticks in the autumn gamut.

This slider presents photo examples of decorative filling with cereal vases for flowers and plants.

Cereals and beans can fill not only vases, but also bottles.

And here are examples of the practical use of cereal-filled vases.

Glass for cosmetic brushes filled with colored rice

Here are some tips to help you create a beautiful composition:

 • In order not to spend on one candlestick per kilogram of cereal, in the center of the container you need to put a glass that will support the candle.
 • You can use one type of cereal or several types of cereals and beans of contrasting colors to get a striped filling of a vase.
 • To layer color cereal in a bottle, use a funnel or just paper folded into a cone.

 • Colored beans can be replaced by rice dyed with food colors as in the photo below (see the workshop at the end of the article).

Idea 5. Easter eggs decor

Fine cereals, grains, spices, star pasta, seeds and dried herbs can be used to decorate Easter eggs. You can simply apply PVA glue to the egg and roll it in grains or create any patterns according to the mosaic principle, after drawing a marking or sketch on the shell. Use stencils to display more accurate shapes and shapes.

Idea 6. Bird food in the form of figures

Cute bird feeders are a more original alternative to birdhouses.

Making such crafts from cereals and seeds is so easy that kids can cope almost without the help of adults.

Materials:

 • 3/4 cup bird food;
 • 1 sachet of gelatin;
 • 1/4 cup of water;
 • Cookie cutters (large and medium size);
 • Twine or tape;
 • Straw;
 • Baking paper;
 • Large bowl;
 • Pan;
 • A spoon.

Master Class:

Step 1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil and add gelatin. Keep the resulting mixture on medium heat for about 5 minutes (until the gelatin is completely dissolved), constantly stirring it with a spoon.

Step 2. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool for about 1 minute. In a large bowl, mix gelatin and bird food (3/4 cup or a little more) with a spoon or hands. This work can just be entrusted to children.

Step 3. Put a piece of baking paper on the table and place cookie cutters on it. Fill the molds with a mixture of bird food and gelatin half and ram it.

Step 4. Make twine loops of suitable length and slightly deepen their knots inside each mold with the mixture.

Step 5. Fill out the forms to the very top.

Step 6. Place all the figures in the freezer for 20 minutes, and then leave them to dry overnight or for a full day.

Step 7. Remove the figures from the molds, hang them on the trees and wait for the first guests!

Idea 7. Napkin rings

Decorate your toilet paper rolls with mosaic of cereals and seeds to create charming napkin rings that are perfect for autumn or summer table setting.

Materials:

 • Variety of cereals, seeds, beans and spices;
 • Tube of toilet paper;
 • PVA glue;
 • Stationery knife;
 • Acrylic paints;
 • Brush

Instruction:

Step 1. Cut the toilet paper tube into three sections of the same width (about 4 cm).

Step 2. Paint each section (inside and out) in some neutral or contrasting color. You will get the ring blanks.

Step 3. Prepare and sort various seeds, grains, beans, and spices.

Step 4. Apply a thick layer of glue to a small area of the ring and sprinkle or pinpoint cereals and seeds on it. Wait until the glue in this area dries and only then proceed with processing the next area. Continue these steps until the entire surface of the ring is finished, and then leave it to dry.

Step 5. If you are afraid that the seeds will come off and peel off, additionally treat them with a thick layer of glue, covering even the gaps between the seeds.

Idea 8. Decorative balls

You can make decorative balls from cereals and foam blanks that will look spectacular on a dish or in a glass vase. Such a composition will decorate any dining table, console or coffee table.

Materials:

 • Black paint in spray;
 • Foam balls of small diameter (or balls made of floral foam);
 • PVA glue;
 • Cereals, such as chopped peas, red beans, white beans, black beans and lentils.

Instruction:

 1. Paint the foam ball black or cereal and let it dry.
 2. Apply glue to a small part of the ball with a brush, and then sprinkle the beans or paste them pointwise. Allow the treated area to dry before proceeding to the next area. Continue these steps until the entire ball is covered with beans.
 3. Make some of these balls and lay them on a beautiful dish. If desired, complete the composition with candles, dried branches, cones or any other decor.

By the way, if instead of balls we take foam plastic eggs and paint the cereal in pastel colors, then you will get the original Easter decorations as in the photo below.

Idea 9. Decorative wreath

From cereals and a base ring, you can make a beautiful wreath for seasonal or holiday home decoration.

Materials:

 • Chopped green peas;
 • Two straw wreaths with a diameter of 20 cm (can be replaced with a foam blank);
 • PVA glue or glue gun with a large supply of glue sticks;
 • Brush;
 • Baking sheet;
 • Foil;
 • Twine.

Master Class:

 1. If you use a foam base, first paint it in the tone of the cereal with acrylic paint and let it dry completely.
 2. Cover the baking sheet with foil and fill it with peas.
 3. Apply thermal glue or PVA glue to a small part of the inner side of the wreath, then sprinkle croup on it, brush off the excess and wait until the glue dries.
 4. Fill out the next area in the same way. Continue the action until the entire inside of the wreath is covered with peas as shown in the photo below.

 1. Glue a small portion of the outer side of the wreath, immediately roll it in a baking sheet with peas, rotating a little. Wait until the glue dries a little and proceed to the processing of the next section until the entire outer side of the wreath is covered with peas. Then work on the voids, filling them pointwise with glue and grits.

 1. In the same way, shape the back side of the wreath, and then its sidewalls.
 2. When the whole wreath is covered with peas, and the glue is dried, additionally walk with a brush with PVA glue on the croup, filling with glue, including the gaps between the peas.
 3. Wait until the wreath is completely dry, and then tie it with tape or twine and finally hang it over the front door, over a window or dining table.

If you wish, you can decorate the wreath with dried flowers, twigs, artificial flowers and berries or an applique made of cereals of a contrasting color, for example, as shown in the photo below.

Idea 10. Coffee or serving table

Materials:

 • Large frame for photo;
 • A bar stool, the seat of which is slightly smaller in width than the frame;
 • Drill and drill;
 • 4 small screws;
 • Primer;
 • Paint;
 • Paint brush and glue brush;
 • PVA glue;
 • Epoxy resin (in this case less than 1 L was required);
 • Cereals;
 • Film for floor protection.

Master Class:

Step 1. Separate the frame from the “native” back panel.

Step 2. Cut a panel the size of a frame from a thin piece of chipboard or plywood and glue it to the frame with liquid nails or wood glue. At this stage, it is desirable to seal the joints, for example, using wood putty. This is necessary so that further epoxy does not seep through the openings between the frame and the panel.

Step 3. Put the frame on the stool and fasten it to the 4 screws with a drill (in the middle of the frame). You will get a design that resembles a table.

Step 4. Place a film on the floor to protect the floor. Cover the table with a primer, wait for it to dry completely and paint with paint in 2-3 layers. Keep in mind that each coat of paint must be allowed to dry before applying the next coat.

Step 5. Draw several sections in the niche of the frame, if you want to make a table like in this master class, or draw a sketch of the picture / layout according to your idea.

Step 6. Using a brush, apply a thick layer of PVA glue to the panel in a niche in a specific section and evenly place the groats there. Make sure the cereal layer does not protrude above the frame. Continue to decorate the panel with grits in accordance with the markings.

Step 7. If you want to eliminate the movement of grains when pouring resin, additionally cover the entire composition in the frame with a thick layer of PVA glue and let it dry for about 24 hours.

Step 8. Now it is time to pour the cereal in the frame with resin. Make sure the table is on a level surface. Carefully following the manufacturer's instructions, mix the components of the resin, and then slowly fill it with the entire composition in one layer. Remove the resulting bubbles by blowing them through the straw. Leave the table to dry overnight.

Step 9. When the first layer of resin has dried, carefully fill the groats with the second layer, making sure that it does not go beyond the limits of the protrusions of the frame. Let the resin dry for another 24 hours and enjoy your new table.

Master class: how to color cereals and seeds with food colors

 5. Put the colored cereal on plates covered with napkins and let it dry.

Doing crafts from cereals with your own hands is much easier than it seems at first glance, it is interesting for both children and adults. The main advantage of crafts from cereals is originality, because even adults will consider the finished work, peering into the details. Not everyone will be able to guess what material was used, especially if viewed from afar. If a picture made by cereals hangs on a par with standard drawings, it will look brighter and more memorable.

Idea Benefits

Originality is not the only reason to teach a child to do such crafts. Today, many parents from childhood teach children to use gadgets, so that they quickly master the technique, while mental development suffers, which directly depends on the fine motor skills of the hands. Simply put, children are not accustomed to working with small details, because of this, their ability to learn, develop rapidly decreases.

Especially often, such problems arise in families living in apartments, in such conditions, children may not even be able to play in the sand. Caring parents understand how important it is to worry about the development of the child, so the idea of making crafts from cereals attracts them. A nice plus of this lesson is that the finished work is a great option for a gift to grandparents and other relatives, so that a child learns to please others from childhood.

Psychologists say that children with whom parents engage in needlework from an early age tend to learn new things faster, perceive information, and develop. Even in adulthood, they will be helped by assiduity acquired from childhood, diligence and diligence.

Where to begin?

First you need to make sure that the child is at the age when such an activity will be not only useful, but also interesting. It is dangerous to force children at a very young age to do something together, as this can lead to a desire to spend time with parents in the future.

There are no specific age restrictions. Each kid comes at a time when he begins to be actively interested in drawing: packs of clean paper can last for a day, while in the house there are notes of a young “artist” on wallpaper and other furniture. This is the time to channel the child’s energy into creative development.

At the same time, children going to kindergarten and elementary school also need to develop fine motor skills and perseverance. It happens that a child seems to be a non-creative person - nothing related to painting causes him interest. Then parents have to invent something, the original idea will be crafts from cereals.

The first thing to start is to choose the right grits. It’s better not to be guided by the principle of “why not mind,” but to think how it will be more convenient for the child to work.

The main rule for choosing the material - the smaller, the better.

Using one cereal will be boring, so after coming up with the idea of drawing, you need to choose different options. You can paint the selected material in different colors, some like to paint semolina. You also need to prepare a flat surface, it can be part of the table or a tray, a dish, another flat dish.

Patterns

The preparation of the template is the task of the parents, because the child cannot cope with it. The final appearance of the finished work will depend on the selected and drawn template. It is important that the picture consisted of large parts, it is necessary to calculate that there were no more of them than the available variations of different cereals.

Tip

The easiest way to choose a drawing from coloring books or children's books than to invent it yourself. Most coloring books designed for children under 3 years old contain just simple pictures with large details, you can simply redraw them.

Together with the choice of a template, you need to prepare the basis, it can be anything:

Of course, the more complex the base, the more difficult it is to apply the drawing, so if you are practicing the craft for the first time, it is best to use thick cardboard. To this basis, you need PVA glue and a brush for applying it.

An alternative to gluing cereals is to push it into plasticine. This technique also looks bright and original, but for the first time it is better to do with gluing, and then experiment.

How to make?

Let's look at an example of how to implement the ideas of an application according to a pattern. The whole process of making crafts consists of several stages:

Select and print a template. This method of preparing a template is the easiest, on the Internet you can find many simple drawings with large details and print them. You can use other methods - redraw, and if you have artistic inclinations, even draw by hand, but it is important to try to keep the contours and lines as even as possible.

We blow away the remnants of cereals that accidentally fall on the drawing, leave it to dry. This may take about 10 minutes, if a lot of glue was applied, then more.

After that, you can use paints, you need to do this if you did not initially stain the cereal, but there is such a need. It’s also convenient to paint small details with paints:

 • eyes;
 • buttons.

Acrylic paints are best used.

After the final drying of the work, it can be hung in a frame or used as a decor for a children's room.

Tip

The easiest to use cereal is semolina. It is easy to paint, it is easy to apply and holds well in the little fingers of a child.

From cereals and pasta

Macaroni is an excellent tool for needlework. Many use them for various decorative purposes, for example, decorate a Christmas tree, make candlesticks and many other crafts. And all because the variety of pasta shapes allows you to do this.

Such crafts are performed on the same principle as simply from cereals. To begin with, a template is selected, then the parent determines which parts of the drawing will be made with cereals, and which with pasta. Then, with the help of glue and a brush, first large, then small parts are painted alternately, then the prepared material is glued.

However, some types of pasta are difficult to stick because of the weight, so the material chosen for the basis of such an application must be durable, plain paper just does not fit, and if you choose cardboard, then hard. If the product cannot be glued, it can be sewn. The pasta shapes of wheels and spirals look beautiful, you can just grab them with a few stitches of a needle and thread.

Of course, this part of the process is performed by parents, especially if the children are very young. If the child is already in school, then doing such a craft may be a good reason to teach the child how to use a needle. Usually pasta is already attached to the finished drawing at the very end of the work.

The advantage of pasta is that it is easy to paint them in the right color. Therefore, when doing a cereal craft, think about what you can decorate in it and try to use pasta for this.

If you have chosen a puppy’s template, why not add a leash with a “badge” - a wheel-shaped pasta, or why not use a snowman for buttons on them.

Tip

Many shops sell colorful pasta - they look great crafts.

Craft-jewelry for hair from pasta

Macaroni can be used not only with cereals, but also as the main material for work. Manufacturers of pasta, as if specially designing a beautiful design so that craftsmen can use them not only for cooking.

Hair ornaments with pasta look especially original. Few people will guess how they were made, but not one child will definitely have the same accessory. There are several options for using pasta to make jewelry:

1 Hoop. All that is needed is to buy a plain bezel, it should not be too thin so that a pattern can fit on it. Pasta in the form of spikelets glued along the entire length looks beautiful, especially if they are pre-painted in silver or gold.

2 Crown. Using the same plain bezel, you can make a crown for a little princess. To do this, you need to choose several types of pasta, it is convenient to use wheels of different sizes. In advance, you need to design the form, and then glue them in rows.

3 Small hair clips. A suitable form of pasta for this is bows, they can be decorated in any colors, even with patterns. After that, the bow is attached to the glue to an invisible or small hairpin so that it is not visible.

You can prepare several hairpins for different outfits. Under a blue dress with white peas, make a bow of this color, under a striped one - striped and so on. The young fashionista will be delighted with such an abundance of jewelry.

Pasta Accessories

From pasta you can make not only jewelry for hair. Everything that girls, beads, bracelets, earrings love to wear so much can be made of this material. How much joy the child will have if the parents do not just buy the jewelry in the store, but take the time to make it on their own with the children.

Beads are easiest to make from pasta in a shape that is strung on a string. You can use different types, decorating them in different colors. It is important that the thread be strong, if it is thick and looks ugly from under the “beads”, you need to pick it up in color or just dye it.

Beads with pasta in the form of bows look beautiful. It is impossible to string them on a thread, so this work is more painstaking and requires more time.

Tip

Each bow must be tied in the middle with a thread, fixed to a knot, then move on to the next.

You can make beads and bracelets by combining pasta with ordinary beads. You can design not only one thing, but a whole set, complementing it with a hairpin in the same style. Such sets of "jewelry" look stylish and original.

New Year crafts

The easiest way to use cereal for New Year's crafts is to make New Year's cards with your child, which he will be able to give to his relatives and friends on his behalf. To do this, you need to choose a simple template for a New Year theme, print, transfer to cardboard, arrange with cereals.

A common idea is a Christmas tree. You can draw it yourself without using a template. The selected small groats must be painted green in advance, allowed to dry and used for drawing, in this case it consists of one large part. You can decorate the Christmas tree with pasta of a beautiful shape, for example, bows.

Small crafts that can be hung on a wall, window, Christmas tree look original. To do this, cut out New Year's figures from cardboard. You can make many different options and hang them together, like a solid garland. Good options would be:

 • mitten;
 • skates;
 • felt boots;
 • christmas decorations.

To draw and cut along the contour all these figures is simple, but you can decorate with groats in different ways, because each of them is one solid piece. For example, a mitt can make “fur” from rice, and the rest from any other cereal. If there are a lot of children in the family, such an idea will be especially good options, because each child will be able to be creative, sometimes parents themselves are surprised how many little dreamers can come up with.

Christmas toys from cereals

Typical glass Christmas tree decorations are a thing of the past, and many creative ideas have come up that can be used. One of the most popular is the use of cereals.. For many, it is surprising that with it you can not just decorate a finished ball, but make it from scratch.

Such a craft will not take much time, if at first glance the idea seems complicated, just try it. Production takes place in several stages:

 • We take the newspaper, roll it into a ball. How much material to take depends on the size of the expected toy. If you are doing it for the first time, you should not immediately do the big one, but you don’t need a very small one either - it will be inconvenient to hold it in your hands.
 • Give the ball a regular round shape using thread. To do this, you just need to start wrapping them in a circle, periodically changing direction, as if rolling into a ball. When the shape is even, we fix the ends of the thread, making a small knot.
 • We prepare the cereal, which we will use for decoration, pour it into a plate. Buckwheat toys look smart.
 • Spread PVA glue on top of the threads with a brush, envelop it in a plate. If there are empty places to which grains have not attached, grease them with glue and add them with tweezers.
 • We take a spray paint, preferably a gold color, spray the toy, leave to dry. It is advisable to select the color of the spray to match the color of the cereals used, gold looks good on buckwheat, silver on rice and semolina.

You can choose any animal, imagine with the help of which cereals or pasta of a certain form it can be made. All that is needed is to turn on fantasy, consider the picture of the animal, think about what its coat, body shape, and other features look like. Consider, for example, a hedgehog based on puff pastry, but using this idea, you can come up with your own options:

 • We prepare salt dough: for 2 cups of flour, 1 cup of salt and 250 room temperature water are taken. Knead the dough, give it the desired shape. This is easy to do, since salty dough in soft form looks like plasticine.
 • For needles, elongated pasta is best suited - take spiral ones. Paint them silver with a spray paint. When they dry, you can make needles.
 • Visually draw a line that separates the muzzle from the body, lubricate the edges of the pasta with glue, put the “needle”, slightly press down. We begin to move from the muzzle, because if the last row turns out to be uneven, it should not be visible.
 • Paint the rest of the dough with silver spray paint, make eyes, nose, and mouth. For this, you can also take pasta - small stars, if they are not painted, they will stand out so well. You can also take the beads by planting them on glue.

You can decorate such a hedgehog as you like: make it a bow of pasta, put some small craft on the needles, or just make it colorful.
