Reusable aluminum liquid bottles are better for the environment than drinking water or other drinks in plastic containers. However, if you are the owner of such a bottle, then you know very well what a good heat conductor aluminum is. With the help of an insulator, drinks and your fingers can stay at their normal temperature longer. This is a small project, so it can be made from any leftover thread or rope from your previous projects.

This article shows how to braid standard sized bottles along with pictures showing the number of stitches needed to achieve a specific result. Use what suits you best. Working with standard sized pieces will teach you a lot about free crochet, in fact you can crochet any cylindrical object with this method. The materials included in the demo are listed in the "Items You Need" section.

Steps

Measure the circumference (distance around) of your bottle. The key to braiding is the correct number of loops for the volume.

    • Because the braid is knitted, it will have some stretch, so you should knit so that the braid is snug.
  1. Measure the loops. Knit a chain of approximately 7-8cm, knit two more rows and double crochet in the third loop from the hook. Double crochet one stitch per stitch in reverse side along the row you connected.

Count the number of loops in a test piece and measure their length. It is better to count in the middle to avoid miscalculations due to uneven edges. So, there are seven loops in 5cm (the length of the sample) (the number of loops of the sample). Measure the length of the loop in the same units in which you measured the circumference of the bottle.

    Calculate the usual proportion:

Number of loops of the sample / length of the sample = total number of loops / circumference of the bottle total number of loops = (number of loops of the sample x circumference) / length of the sample so total number of loops = (7 loops x 9 inches (22. 8cm)) / 2 inches (5cm) = 31 loops.

    • For this example, round up to 30 stitches for easier counting and to help the braid fit tighter. Write this number down.
    • Unravel the skein if you want to straighten the thread.
  2. Tie the round bottom of the braid (see. hints for specifying details). You should end up with a flat disk with approximately the same parameters as the bottle, or a little less, and with the same number of loops in the last row as the “total number of loops” number indicated above.

Tie a slip knot, tie a few loops (4-6) and join with a half double crochet to form a ring.

Work three stitches to start the first round (counts as the first double crochet) and work a double crochet into that circle.

Connect with a half double crochet.

Work two stitches to begin the second round (counts as the first row of double crochet). Then double crochet into each stitch from the first round. In the example, we have two loops per 2.5 cm to make 30 loops, the number of total loops that we wrote down earlier. Add an additional circle if necessary to obtain the required diameter. See tips below on how to do this.

“Shape the sides. Knit two loops and double crochet one loop in each loop of the previous round.

Try the warp on the bottle when you have knitted the first few rows. If it is too loose, you need fewer stitches on the last row of the round base. If it comes out too tight, you need to add a few loops either to the round base or to one of the bottom rows, knitted with a single crochet near the base. In any case, it is better to detect it immediately.

  3. Decide if you want to make ribbon loops and how many there should be. With a nice cord tie at the top they will be more of a decorative element, but if you want you can place them along the shape of the bottle.

    • If you don't want to make ribbon loops, continue single crochet around the entire bottle until you reach the desired height.
    • Place the ears for the ribbons a little lower than you need, remember that the braid will stretch during use.
  4. Make loops for the ribbons. Finish the circle where you want the ears to be.

    1. Knit three loops.
    2. Double crochet into the next two stitches from the previous round (for a total of three double crochets, including the loop).
    3. Double yarn over into the next stitch. The double crochet stitch will be too tall for the double crochet row, so it will look like a belt loop that will bulge if you pull it a little.
    4. Continue with a pattern of three double crochets followed by a double crochet until the end of the circle. Make one or two “eyes” with just two double crochets between them to achieve an even number of loops and eyes.
    5. Join with a half double crochet, knit one stitch and continue to work additional rounds with a single crochet as before.

Or when going on a visit, we choose a bottle of good wine. For gourmets of this ancient drink that has not been lost in modern times, such a gift will be a joy. Or maybe it will be suitable for someone’s collection (this is for those who always have a good selection of alcohol in their bar for connoisseurs). To make the gift look even more attractive, it would be nice to choose an original packaging for a bottle of wine. A special high one is selected to be presented as a gift. gift bag, but the bottle itself can become elegant. To do this, we will knit a gift cover for a vessel with wine, which we will also decorate with a flower.

In this case, originality is always important, so we choose textured yarn, the thread of which is of uneven thickness, has thicker sections, and is composed of cotton with viscose. The color is also original, black with bright pink weaves. We select a hook for this uneven thread with the condition that the knitting should be mesh, not dense. To pair this thread we select bright acrylic yarn Pink colour, from which we will knit a rose for decoration. A small skein of yarn is useful for knitting a ribbon or tie cord.

We make a packaging case for a bottle with a round bottom. At the beginning of knitting, we cast on 4 air loops and close them into a ring. We tie 8 columns without a cape into this ring and move on to the second row. Starting with it, we do everything with double crochets. Add stitches in the next 3-4 rows until the circle reaches the size of the bottom of the bottle.

Then we stop adding loops and knit in a circle in height. During the knitting process we apply the cover to the bottle. The height of the cover should cover the entire bottle.

We perform the last row according to the scheme: 1 ch. to rise, then rapport: * lush column from 2 tbsp. double crochet, ch 2, in the next loop of the bottom row, a lush stitch of 2 tbsp. double crochet, single stitch in the next stitch of the bottom row*. We repeat the repeat until the end of the row, obtaining a slightly wavy edge.

The ribbon for tying can be chosen from satin braid or knitted from yarn suitable color. In our case, a cord is made from grass-colored yarn using a cord knitting machine. Not everyone has such a machine, so using a hook it is not difficult to knit a ribbon of two rows: 1 row of 70 chain loops, the second row of double crochets.
We put the knitted cover on the bottle, tie it with a ribbon in the neck area, and fold the edges.

We knit a rose from acrylic yarn, choosing the twisted ribbon method. We knit a strip of yarn according to the pattern: cast on 60 vp, then repeat in the fourth loop of the bottom row *in one loop: 1 tbsp. double crochet, 2 ch, 1 tbsp. with a double crochet, in the next loop of the bottom row: 1 tbsp. without a crochet*. It turns out like the letter V. The second row is longer than the first in each report by 3 loops. Due to this, the tape begins to curl already during the knitting process.

Having finished the second row, we begin to form the rose, twist the knitted ribbon in a spiral, and then use a thread of the same yarn to fasten all the twisted tiers of the ribbon from the inside, simply stitch it through, without tightening too much, so as not to crumple the flower.

It's no secret that the most pleasant gifts for both the giver and the recipient are those in which a piece of the soul is invested. Even the simplest objects made or decorated with my own hands acquire a special aura.

For example, a bottle of even the best cognac will become both beautiful and an original gift, if you put it in such a bright case, knitted.

In order to knit a gift case for a cognac bottle you will need 30 g of red and a little white YarnArt yarn (150 m/50 g, 100% acrylic), knitting needles No. 3 and 4, satin ribbon 35 cm long.

The product is knitted from top to bottom using 1x1 rib and stockinette stitch. Cast on 51 sts with red yarn on size 3 needles and begin making a tight rib stitch.

Knit a cuff 9-10 cm long.

After this, switch to needles No. 4 and stockinette stitch. Make 4 rows, and then introduce white yarn into the work. Distribute the loops as follows: 1 stitch, 3 stitches with red yarn, *1 stitch with white yarn, 5 stitches with red**, repeat from * to ** 7 times, 1 stitch with white yarn, 4 stitches with red yarn, 1 stitch . At the same time, knitting 5 red loops in a row, purlwise. On the side of the work, cross both threads after the second loop, not allowing the white yarn to sag or pull the fabric.

Leave the white yarn on the left side of the fabric and make 4 rows with red yarn. Then, in purl. row, reintroduce white yarn into the work, distributing the loops as follows: 1 chrome, *5 sts with red yarn, 1 st with white yarn**, repeat from * to ** 8 times, 1 st with red, 1 chrome.

Leave the white yarn with right side fabric and again make 4 rows with red yarn. After this, start knitting an ornament in the form of a deer. Make sure that the broaches on the wrong side of the work do not deform the fabric.

There are a lot of ideas for creating knitted bottle covers. For the most part, it all depends on the knitting method you choose (knitting or crocheting), the type of yarn and, of course, the idea that you want to embody in this bottle knitted garment.

In addition, you can make knitted bottles themselves - a great way to combat drunkenness.

If you have chosen our original way of combating alcoholism, namely creating knitted bottles beer or champagne, then in this case you will need to knit a case in the shape of a bottle and fill it with cotton wool or padding polyester. In this case, a glass bottle is not needed.

A knitted decoration for a bottle can serve as a kind of holiday gift. Giving, for example, a bottle of champagne for New Year is a banality, but giving the same champagne, but decorating the bottle in an original way- this is already a sign of attention, respect, reverence, because such a gift option claims to be, at least, a work of art and, at most, a masterpiece.

In addition to the “decorative” function, tied bottles can also serve a completely utilitarian purpose. For example, a knitted cover for a beer bottle is a way to warm your hands while drinking this drink. Men whose hobby is football will appreciate such a gift.

You can also crochet a bottle to create an original vase. Such a stylish handmade bottle vase can become not only an interior decoration, but also a great gift for a friend's birthday or other memorable date.

Knitted bottle cover

The easiest way to make a knitted cover for a bottle with knitting needles is to knit a rectangular fabric in any pattern you like, while the length of the fabric in length should correspond to the height of the bottle before tapering, and the length of the fabric in height should be equal to the circumference of the bottle. In this case, you won’t have to knit the bottom.

If you are new to knitting, then you can choose garter stitch. It is best to use wool threads of medium thickness as yarn. You can take plain yarn, or you can use melange or section-dyed yarn - then your knitted bottle cover will be brighter.

When the knitted bottle cover is ready, wrap it around the bottle and sew the edges with a mattress stitch. You can also use buttons to join the edges of the case and secure the case to the bottle. In this case, you can use holes in the pattern as holes for buttons (if the buttons are small), or make hanging loops.

You can also knit a cover using stockinette stitch, but in this case you will have to take into account that the edges of the knitted fabric will curl. This property of knitted stockinette fabric can be used as decorative element when creating a knitted cover. In this case, it is necessary to knit not in the transverse direction, that is, the length of the fabric along the line of casting on loops should correspond to the circumference of the bottle, and the length of the fabric in height should correspond to the length of the bottle before the narrowing begins. More experienced knitters can use arans as a pattern - all kinds of braids and plaits. You need to knit such a cover using circular or stocking needles - in this case the cover will be seamless. Knitting with arans involves knitting the cover not before the bottle begins to narrow, but up to the neck. You need to finish knitting the cover with an elastic band. It is not necessary to decrease stitches in order to knit the case strictly according to the shape of the bottle; instead, you can use satin ribbon, which should be tied around the neck of the bottle and thus secure the upper part of the case. It is not necessary for a cover knitted with aran to have a bottom, but you can do it if you wish.

You can also use knitting needles to make knitted toys for a bottle / For example, make a scarf and a knitted hat for a bottle or for a Christmas tree as a toy for this reason.

If you don’t have the time or desire to tie the entire bottle, then you can decorate the bottle easier -.

Provide such a knitted flower with a knitted braid, the length of which will correspond to the circumference of the bottle, and secure such a “garter” to the bottle.

Finally, by making a knitted bottle cover, you can make a miniature tabletop Christmas tree. This cover can be knitted or crocheted, the main thing is the choice of yarn. The yarn should be long pile (grass). If it is with lurex, you can make the Christmas tree even more elegant. Additionally decorate a knitted Christmas tree from a bottle with rain or small multi-colored ones and you will get a real forest beauty.

And finally - simple knitted clothes for bottles

The easiest way to tie a bottle with yarn is... wrapping the bottle with yarn.

To ensure that the yarn does not slip and it is easier for you to secure it at the base of the bottle, we recommend that you first cover the entire outer surface of the bottle with paper.

Use PVA as glue as it does not leave marks. When the paper is glued, thickly lubricate the glued paper with PVA so that the paper is literally saturated with glue and, without waiting for the glue to dry, begin wrapping the bottle with yarn. You can use plain yarn, as well as section-dyed yarn - in this case, you will create beautiful smooth transitions from one color to another.

Or you can use yarn of several colors - in this case you will get a striped bottle. Instead of yarn, twine (hemp rope) can be used as a material for wrapping a bottle using the same technology.
