Brittle weak thin nails. Strengthening fragile nails

Strengthening brittle nails includes nourishing them with nail oil and healing cream for the cuticle. When applying oil, special attention is paid to the contour of the nail, and the cuticle is rubbed into the base of the nail with circular movements of the thumb of the other hand. At the same time, the softened cuticle can be gently pushed back with an orange stick, allowing the nail to “breathe”. The composition of ready-made products for strengthening nails is the most diverse. Allantoin and panthenol effectively heal the cuticle, especially after a trimmed manicure. Liposomes and nutrients contribute to the growth of nails, stimulating the formation of new cells in the growth zone of the nail plate. Even creams may contain sulfuric amino acids and keratin, proteins and vitamin C, which help strengthen nails and improve their resistance to harmful environmental influences.

To strengthen brittle and brittle nails, you can make baths of warm vegetable oil 1-2 times a week with the addition of vitamin A, 3 drops of iodine or 5 drops of lemon juice. It is necessary to rub regularly into the nail plate and the skin surrounding the nail bed, lemon juice, table vinegar, cranberry juice. If possible, after 1-2 days you need to make warm baths from sea or table salt. “Thimbles” of beeswax have a wonderful effect. They are heated in a water bath and the fingertips are lowered into it. To achieve a lasting effect within 1-2 months it is useful to take complexes of vitamins and minerals for hair and nails, such as Rivolit, Nutricap, Merz, Zinc, selenium, silicon, sulfur as part of food additives.

To strengthen the nails themselves, you can use paraffin baths and firming varnishes. For brittle nails, varnishes with calcium will help. If the nail has already broken, it is enough to cover the crack with a special material for gluing the nails, and apply an ordinary base on top under the varnish or a special gel for artificial nails.

Recipes for the treatment and strengthening of brittle and thin nails

Recipes against brittle nails:

  • Trays of heated vegetable oil with the addition of liquid vitamin A and lemon juice. It is advisable to do 2 times a week.
  • Make lemon baths every other day. It is necessary to cut the lemon in half and lower the fingertips into each half for 10 minutes. The course is 2 weeks.
  • Twice a week, arrange your nails with an evening bath of warmed olive oil with 3-5 drops of iodine. Dip your fingers in oil for 15 minutes, then wipe them and avoid contact with water for several hours.
  • Baths of vegetable oil and apple cider vinegar, mixed in equal proportions.
  • Nourishing wax ointment. Boil the hard boiled egg. Pull out the yolk, knead it. Add 4 g of beeswax melted in a water bath to the yolk and add peach oil until the mixture thickens to the consistency of the ointment. Use ointment every night.
  • Sometimes brittle nails are associated with a lack of certain trace elements and vitamins in the body. In such cases, you need to eat more fresh vegetables and cottage cheese. And from the plants you can make tea that strengthens the nails: nettle - 1 part, shepherd’s bag - 1 part, creeping wheatgrass rhizome - 2 parts, gray alder coplodia - 1 part, black elderberry flowers - 3 parts. 1 teaspoon of the collection pour a glass of boiling water, insist in a thermos for 6-8 hours, drain, take 1/2 cup 3-4 times a day for 10 days.

Tips for strengthening thin brittle nails at home

When you cook potatoes, do not pour the broth. After finishing all household chores, hold your hands in it for 5-10 minutes. And then brush with cream.

Unfortunately, exfoliating nails is a problem familiar to many. To strengthen them, salt baths are very useful. You just need ordinary sea salt, without all kinds of aromatic additives that are now fashionable. Dissolve a teaspoon of salt (without slide) in warm water and hold your hands for 20 minutes. The procedure is repeated 10 consecutive days. After a month, it can be repeated. Well, for prevention, it is enough to do a salt bath once a week.

Thin, easily broken nails will become stronger if you rub lemon juice or vegetable oil into them. Also try not to deal with detergents at least temporarily.

Sometimes brittle nails are associated with a lack of certain vitamins in the body. 1 teaspoon of the collection pour a glass of boiling water, insist in a thermos for 6-8 hours, drain, take half a glass 3-4 times a day for 10 days.

If the nails peel off, wipe them daily with a special lotion. Lubricate your hands and nails at night with any nourishing cream.

An ideal natural hand care product is regular lemon. Lemon juice improves the structure of nails, perfectly softens the skin around them and, in addition, has a whitening effect. Cut the lemon in half and dip the nails into the pulp, then massage them for several minutes, scrolling inside the half of the lemon. Cut softened cuticles.

Special keratin supplements act on the nails. Lotions and creams with such additives are recommended to be applied after each hand wash or at least twice a day. Warm baths with various emollients remove stress from the hands.

Particular attention should be paid to the cuticle. For a long time it was removed mechanically, but now there are milder ways to avoid wounds and, consequently, infections. Cutting the cuticle is not recommended. It is better to use a special gel, cream or oil to soften the cuticle before the bath, and then gently push it with an orange tree stick to the edges of the nail. Another tool for treating the skin at the base of the nail is a special cuticle fluid that inhibits the growth of epithelial cells.

For fragile and weak nails, there are special creams that strengthen the nail plate.

Ugly, broken, broken, stratified nails look ugly. Nevertheless, often this is caused not by a grave general ailment, but by the most ordinary homework, the usual - but endless - their contact with alkaline agents. Therefore, protection for gloves in the form of gloves is just as necessary as the skin of the hands.

Even if you apply a colorless varnish-base or liquid fixative on your nails, they will have at least some kind of protective film that will protect against delamination.

Luxurious manicure is an important element in the style of a modern woman. However, if the nails are soft and brittle, it will not work to grow them. First you need to find the cause of this phenomenon and eliminate it. How can I cover soft nails?

How to cover soft nails

Very soft nails: causes

There are many reasons why nails can become soft. Let's get acquainted with the main ones:

  • injury to the nail plate;
  • prolonged exposure to harmful chemicals, low-quality varnishes and other things;
  • wrong manicure;
  • problems with the stomach and intestines;
  • arthritis;
  • peripheral vascular disease;
  • heredity;
  • malfunctioning of the thyroid gland;
  • malnutrition, lack of vitamins and minerals, in particular vitamins A and B, iron, calcium, sulfur.

As you can see, soft nails are not just a cosmetic problem, but also a serious sign with which your body is trying to inform you about certain malfunctions in its work.

What to do if your nails are soft

One of the basic rules for strengthening and restoring nails is to nourish them with beneficial substances. Mix in equal proportions lemon juice, beeswax and any vegetable oil (even sunflower is suitable). Rub the resulting natural cream thoroughly into your nails and cuticles. It is very important not just to apply this mixture, but to massage your fingers for a long time (at least 10 minutes).

You can also make a nourishing mask that you need to keep all night. For its preparation exclusively olive oil is suitable. It must be mixed in equal proportions with freshly squeezed lemon juice. Before applying, this mixture should be slightly warmed up in a microwave or in a water bath. After you lubricate your nails and cuticles with a warm mask, put on gloves for spa procedures made of natural fabric. Rinse your hands well in the morning without using soap.

In order for the nails to be strong, they must receive adequate nutrition. Folk methods at home will help you solve this problem.

You can also visit the nail salon and undergo paraffin therapy for hands. This is a very useful procedure that will help you restore your nails. At the moment, it is incredibly popular, so almost all the salons offer it. Well, and, of course, do not forget that on weakened and soft nails you need to especially often do high-quality manicures - at least every 3 weeks.

Feel free to use the tips described above. If you are not allergic to the products you are using, all of these nail repair methods will bring you exceptional benefits. Have a little patience, and soon you will be able to flaunt with the most luxurious manicure.

Many of us are faced with a problem such as brittleness and exfoliation of nails. This forces us to shamefully hide our hands and look for ways to eliminate this seemingly cosmetic defect. A variety of external or internal factors can negatively reflect on the condition of our nails, and the appearance of such a symptom should not be left without due attention. Sometimes, to eliminate such a cosmetic defect, it is enough to just put on rubber gloves or refuse to use aggressive household chemicals, but in some cases, only the course of treatment of the underlying disease, which provoked a change in the structure of the nail plates, will help restore the nails health and beauty.

That is why in order to eliminate such a problem, it is always necessary to accurately determine the cause of brittleness and exfoliation of nails, and only after that proceed to their restoration, and in some cases to the treatment of the underlying disease. What reasons can lead to a violation of the structure of the nail plate? How can I get rid of them? How to restore the beauty and health of nails? You will find answers to these questions in this article.

What external causes lead to brittleness and exfoliation of nails?

Violation of the structure of the nail plate can be caused by such aggressive external causes leading to dry and brittle nails:

  • prolonged contact with water;
  • frequent exposure to low or high temperatures (dry and hot air, hot water, etc.);
  • aggressive exposure to ultraviolet rays;
  • contact with aggressive chemicals (household chemicals, nail polishes, nail polish remover, building materials, etc.);
  • the use of low-quality nail files;
  • improper care for hands and nails;
  • improperly performed manicure or nail extensions;
  • mechanical injuries.

The above external factors lead to the drying of the tissues of the nail plate or its mechanical damage. As a result, the nail begins to exfoliate, it becomes dry and brittle.

What internal causes lead to brittleness and exfoliation of nails?

Violation of the structure of the nail plate can be caused by various internal causes that provoke malnutrition of the tissues of the nail. These include:

  • improper diet or aggressive diets, leading to insufficient intake of minerals and vitamins with food (deficiency of vitamins B5, B3, B1, A, C, E and D, silicon, magnesium, sulfur, phosphorus, iron);
  • period of active growth of children or adolescents;
  • stress
  • chronic overwork;
  • bad habits (smoking, alcohol, drugs);
  • onychomycosis (caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton schoenleinii, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Epidermaphyton floccosum, Scopulariopsis brevicaulis, Alternaria, Aspergillus and other types of fungi);
  • hormonal disorders and endocrine diseases (, dysfunctions, etc.);
  • psoriasis;
  • diseases of the kidneys and digestive organs (intestines, etc.).

The above reasons lead to malnutrition of the nail plate and a change in its structure. As a result, the nails begin to peel and break, furrows, indentations or areas with a changed color appear on them. In such cases, it is not possible to improve the appearance of nails with external means, and you can get rid of the problem only after eliminating the cause of its appearance (i.e., treating the underlying disease, giving up bad habits, normalizing nutrition).

What do nails look like in some diseases?

Overdrying of nail plates, caused by insufficient intake of vitamins and minerals in the body or exposure to aggressive factors and chemicals, is manifested by delamination and increased fragility of nails. They lose their integrity, become dull and grow poorly. In such cases, a person needs to eliminate aggressive external factors, normalize nutrition and properly care for your nails.

With the development of diseases of the internal organs, in addition to exfoliation and increased fragility, the state of the nail plates can change in this way:

  • the appearance of dents and indentations on the nail - with;
  • yellowish shade of the nail - with;
  • cyanosis or a paler nail color - for diseases associated with circulatory disorders;
  • shiny, brittle and soft nails without a hole (sometimes with tubercles) - with hyperthyroidism;
  • thickened, exfoliating nail with transverse depressions in the form of stripes - with latent or recently transmitted infectious diseases;
  • a yellowish nail with white spots and tubercles on the surface - with diabetes;
  • yellow spots on the nails - with lung diseases;
  • concavity of the nail (the surface is similar to a spoon) - with;
  • a nail with a small scattering of white (pearl-like) convex tubercles - with a hidden course of a viral infection;
  • discoloration to yellow, gray and blackish, porosity, delamination and exfoliation of the nail (up to its loss) - with fungal diseases.

According to the above-described signs, the doctor may suspect a disease of the internal organs and prescribe a number of additional studies that will establish the true cause of the change in the appearance and exfoliation of the nail plates. After this, the patient is prescribed a course of treatment for the underlying disease, which not only leads to the elimination of organ and system dysfunctions, but also guarantees an improvement in the appearance of the nails.

General recommendations for eliminating delamination and brittle nails

When stratification and brittle nails, it is important to eliminate external aggressive factors that may affect their health:

  1. In contact with aggressive detergents or other chemicals, earth, building materials, hard or metal sponges, use rubber gloves.
  2. Avoid prolonged contact with water.
  3. Limit exposure to high and low temperatures (wear gloves, use protective creams, etc.).
  4. Careful use of graters for cooking.
  5. Wearing comfortable shoes.
  6. Accurate cutting of nails with high-quality manicure scissors. The optimal shape for the nails is oval or rectangular.
  7. Use only high-quality nail files (it is better to purchase glass). When filing nails, movements should be directed from the corner of the nail to the center. Do not file nail plates on the sides.
  8. Learn how to properly manicure or contact only an experienced specialist.
  9. Do not use low-quality nail polishes and nail polish remover containing acetone.
  10. Do not paint nails constantly (it is advisable not to apply varnish more often than once a week). 1-2 days a week to give the nails completely "rest" from the varnish.
  11. Before applying varnishes in bright colors, apply a special base under colored varnish.
  12. Do not overuse frequent procedures such as acrylic nail extensions and painting with shellac-type coatings. It is better to refuse such procedures completely if you have brittle and exfoliated nails.

For a more effective restoration of nail health, these recommendations must be supplemented by such measures:

  • normalization of nutrition;
  • filling in the lack of minerals and vitamins;
  • proper nail care;
  • salon procedures (if possible).

How to balance nutrition with brittle and stratified nails?

With increased fragility and exfoliation of nails, you need to think about the quality of your nutrition. It is an unbalanced diet and the abuse of rigid diets for weight loss that often lead to the fact that the body receives an insufficient amount of those substances that are necessary for the normal development of the nail plate.

To prevent and eliminate the delamination and brittleness of nails, the introduction of products that are rich in such substances into the daily diet can:

  1. Keratin: eggs, sea fish, poultry and meat.
  2. Calcium: cheese, dairy products, sesame seeds, egg white, spinach, legumes, white and cauliflower, nuts and figs.
  3. Magnesium: buckwheat, oats, beans and soybeans, nuts, whole wheat grains, brown rice and spinach.
  4. Silicon: radish, radish, lettuce, nettle shoots, mushrooms and leeks.
  5. Sulfur: oats, buckwheat, seafood, meat, poultry, eggs, cheese, milk, legumes, garlic, onions, radishes and radishes.
  6. Phosphorus: seafood, meat, fish, eggs, seeds, nuts and unrefined grains.
  7. Iodine: seaweed, seafood, sea fish, feijoa.
  8. Zinc: liver, meat, poultry, legumes, pine nuts and peanuts, wheat, oats, barley and buckwheat.
  9. Iron: liver, lentils, pistachios, buckwheat and barley groats, whole wheat, oats, cashews, peanuts, corn, cornel and pomegranate.
  10. Vitamin B5: kidneys, beef liver and beef, eggs, sea fish, milk, brewer's yeast, legumes, rye flour, mushrooms and nuts.
  11. Vitamin B3: liver, chicken, peas, porcini mushrooms and mushrooms, eggs, nuts, corn, whole wheat and oats.
  12. Vitamin B1: pork, liver, nuts (cedar, peanuts, pistachios, walnuts, cashews), lentils, cereals and pasta.
  13. Vitamin A: liver, butter, garlic, ramson, broccoli, cream cheese and feta cheese, sour cream, viburnum, seaweed and seafood.
  14. Vitamin C: bell pepper, rosehip, blackcurrant, kiwi, sea buckthorn, oranges and broccoli.
  15. Vitamin E: nuts, dried apricots, sea-buckthorn, whole wheat, wild rose, spinach, viburnum and sorrel.
  16. VitaminD: eggs, liver, sea bass, butter, sour cream and cream.

How to make up for the lack of vitamins and minerals with stratified and brittle nails?

For faster restoration of nails, it is recommended to take special vitamin-mineral complexes that contain the “building material” necessary for the formation of normal nail plates. Only a specialist can establish a lack of a vitamin or mineral, and that is why the selection of such drugs should be performed by a doctor or agreed with him.

The most popular and effective vitamin-mineral complexes for restoring the structure of nails are such drugs:

  • Vitasharm (Veropharm, Russia);
  • Perfectil and Perfectil plus (Vitabiotics, Great Britain);
  • Revalid (Biogal, Hungary);
  • Lady’s Formula (PharmaMed, Canada);
  • Healthy hair and nails (PharmaMed, Canada);
  • Ageless skin (PharmaMed, Canada);
  • Volvit (Kusum Healthcare, India);
  • Biotin (NOW Foods, USA);
  • Medobiotin (Medopharm Arzneimittel, Germany);
  • Calcium D3 Nycomed (Nycomed Pharma, Switzerland), etc.

The duration of intake of such vitamin-mineral complexes is determined individually and depends on the degree of lack of vitamins or minerals. Before taking the drug, it is recommended that you carefully study the instructions and follow all the rules for taking.

How to properly care for stratified and brittle nails at home?

Despite the fact that the stratification and fragility of nails is a purely medical problem, proper cosmetic care and medical procedures can be a significant contribution to the restoration of their structure. There are many recipes for strengthening the nail plates, which can be used at home and independently prepared from products, medicines and oils.

Therapeutic bath for nails with vegetable oil and green tea

Combine in a bowl vegetable oil (olive or sunflower) and green tea (in a ratio of 1: 4). Warm the resulting solution to a comfortable temperature and lower your hands into it for 15-20 minutes. The procedure is best done before bedtime. Blot your hands with a paper towel and put on cotton gloves.

A solution of oil and tea can be reused. It must be stored in the refrigerator (but not more than 3 days). The procedure is carried out daily for 10 days.

Salt baths for nails

Sealing nails with wax at home

Gently file the nails with a glass nail file (movements should be directed from the edge of the nail to the center). Make a therapeutic bath for nails (for example, in a solution of sea salt) and rub vitamin oil or another care product into the cuticle. Melt the beeswax and mix it with vitamin oil (in a ratio of 1: 4). Rub the resulting composition into the nail plates using a soft suede polisher.

What salon procedures are useful for brittle and exfoliated nails?

For the restoration of nails in the salon can offer a number of procedures:

  1. Paraffin therapy. Paraffin is heated in a special electric heater, to which substances useful for nails and skin are added. After cleansing, the hands are lowered into a heated mixture, removed and the resulting “gloves” are left for 20 minutes. The paraffin film is carefully removed and lubricated with a moisturizer.
  2. Strengthening nails with soft biogel. The composition of the biogel includes substances that strengthen the nail platinum, which after application remain on the nails for a long time and protect them from microcracks.
  3. Sealing nails. To perform this procedure, compositions are used that include vitamins and minerals that are beneficial for nails. The nail is first ground and only after that a special paste is applied to its surface. This procedure is effective for 14 days. After its completion, you can not do a manicure.

In addition to the above procedures, clients can be offered services for applying professional nail masks. Such therapeutic measures are always highly effective, but require not a single application, but a course of treatment.

Hello dear girls.

N atural, and most importantly well-groomed nails were always in fashion. They serve as one of the main decorations of each girl, they emphasize her status, her style. Accurate manicure is our business card and a very important component of appearance. The beauty industry now produces a huge number of products for nail design and so I want to apply all this for ourselves. But only for this it is desirable to have at least medium-length nails.

I really like long nails, but unfortunately I never had them in my life. I naturally have thin, soft nails, which I can grow only a few mm, and then, making great efforts. I believe that this is my heredity, since my mother has the same problem and no super-proper nutrition and care can make my nails hard, like some lucky ones.

When I searched on the Internet and in various literature "How to strengthen thin nails" or "Is it possible to improve nails that are bad by nature" I always met the basic and well-known recipes that many of us use. I probably tried all the existing tips, but singled out the most effective ones for my thin, brittle nails. With the help of them I can grow my nails a little, but it is very important to maintain the achieved result, otherwise my nails will break or peel very quickly. Any blow and mechanical impact adversely affects my nails.

A little about my manicure. Why I rarely painted my nails with varnish.

My nails are so bad that I always use nail polishes only on holidays. When I remove the varnish, my nails are just in a deplorable state, they peel off and I have to cut them off.

Therefore, most often they are in a natural state (to do different procedures with them) or covered with a hardener. Now there are a huge variety of   fortifying varnishes.  Best known is   "Smart enamel", he was my first remedy with which I was able to grow my nails. Since then I realized that my thin and brittle nails simply can not do without a nail polish. Such a tool makes the nail plate firm and protects against shock and damage. Then the nails deteriorate less and break and I can grow them. The more layers of varnish to apply, the harder the nails will be. Periodically, the hardener needs to be removed and applied in a new way, since it is able to protect nails only when it is on them. You can always find detailed information on the application in the instructions with your product, because they are all different.

Important: try to be held with a reinforcer on the sides and on the inside of the protruding edge of the nail, this will further protect it. Make it neatly hard enough, but since the varnish is transparent - these shortcomings will not be visible. Will this interfere with the respiration of the nail? I believe that no, nails have no lungs.I believe that the hardener is not able to improve the structure of the nail, it can only make it stronger. When we remove the fixer, the nails, of course, will again become defenseless, thin and soft.

Also a great helper for my thin and brittle nails is base for varnish and fixing agent. I found out about them thanks to Irake. Rather, I knew about their existence for a long time, but I started using it recently.   Base for varnish protects the nail from the effects of varnish, some bases can also strengthen. The base for decorative varnish can also serve as your usual hardener. But since I got many layers of varnish, it started to crack off the very next day, then it comes to the rescue polish fixer.  Fixer can be any company, as well as the basis. Fixing-drying is very convenient for me, which in addition accelerates the drying of the varnish.

Such a manicure lasts not for 1 day, but for about 3, considering that I do all the homework myself, my nails are constantly in the water. But the main thing is that the nails are under strong protection from external adverse factors and the likelihood that they will break less.

My manicure tools and what I do with cuticle.

Of the tools I have a glass file for shaping nails, scissors for cutting nails and cuticles, nippers, trimmer and orange sticks. So far all this is enough for me.

Although I like the look of nails with cropped cuticles, I really try not to. After all, the more often you cut it, the faster it will grow - such a vicious circle.

I rarely cut a cuticle only when it grows very much. Basically, I push it back with an orange stick after softening. If you regularly take care of it and do not start it, then pushing back is enough.

I do manicure just like everyone else, I have no secrets.

1. I clean the nail plate from the old varnish with Krimle nail polish removers with impregnation or with the usual nail polish remover. Try also   buy a nail polish remover without acetone.  Such funds are not completely harmless, because the acetone in them is replaced by other chemicals, but in any case they act more gently on our nail plate. Yes, and try to use such a liquid as rarely as possible, at most 1-2 times a week (this applies to problem nails).

After I remove the varnish, I wash my nails under warm running water using an old toothbrush. It removes all the remnants of nail polish and nail polish remover, and also serves to exfoliate dead skin cells.

2. After that, I give the nails a shape with a glass nail file. As expected, I only file dry nails and try to drive the nail file in only one direction.

3. I remove the cuticle, pre-softening it in hot water. In water, I add soap, sea salt or special purchased softeners. After that I do caring procedures for nails.

4. I begin to apply varnish. Nails should be dry and sanded (if necessary).

How I care for thin, soft and brittle nails using home remedies.

In the intervals between applying the hardener and after removing the varnish, such a break for me can be for weeks. I do various procedures.

In order to somehow streamline my review and make it more readable, I decided to grow my nails with you.

In this photo, my original nails. They were a little longer, but they broke and I had to cut them. But that’s not all, after trimming they began to exfoliate and the lamination reached half. Therefore, I have to grow the damaged parts of the nails, cut them, and then grow healthy. I really hope that I will succeed.

And what kind of procedures am I doing:

1. of course it is sea \u200b\u200bsalt bath. Everyone probably knows about her, but she acts.

My recipe:  I put a decent amount of sea salt in the dishes and add warm water (about 40 degrees). In the bath, I add either a few drops of iodine, or the essential oil of lemon, mint, eucalyptus, bay. Then I put my nails in and hold them for about 10-15 minutes. After that, wash everything off with running water and apply hand cream or oil.

This procedure nourishes our nails with essential vitamins and minerals, strengthening them. The nail plate is bleached, it becomes harder and stronger. A bath with sea salt and essential oils should be done once a week for prevention. During the treatment of nails, it can be done daily.

After the bath, our cuticle softens and this facilitates the process of its movement. Therefore, such a bath will be useful before a manicure.

2. The second important component of my nail care is rubbing a variety of base oils into the nail plate. Oils are generally a multifunctional product, it is useful not only for nails, but also for the whole body.

My favorite and most nutritious nail oils are shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter and Rose oil Elixir.

I rub oil several times a day, especially after my hands were in the water. After it, my nails bend like paper, and the oil makes them at least a little harder, and of course it nourishes them with the necessary substances.

And ideally, you need to rub the oil just before bedtime, then it will work better.

3. rubbing into the nails of vitamin AEvit.These vitamins have also been known to me for a long time, but I have recently started using them. Before that, I bought these vitamins in bottles, but did not see the effect. These vitamins are sold in a gelatin shell, which must be pierced with a needle, toothpick or syringe. After that, squeeze the contents onto the nail plate and rub. One thing is enough for one application.

It is also best to use them before bedtime.

4. my favorite and effective mask for strengthening and nourishing nails made of lemon juice and honey.

Mask Recipe:i take about 1 teaspoon of honey and add lemon juice to it. You should get a mass of medium fluid that needs to be applied to the nail plate. If the mask turned out to be too liquid, then just dip the nails inside the container and wait 15 minutes. After that, just wipe the nails with a napkin and apply the cream. I make such a mask 1-2 times a week.

This mask nourishes nails with useful vitamins, makes nails neat, well-groomed and whitens them.

For whitening and nourishing nails, lemon juice can be used independently.

5. mask with lemon juice and salt.What I like most about this mask is its whitening and firming effect.

Mask Recipe:take sea or ordinary extra salt and mix it with lemon juice. I do not indicate proportions, as I always do everything by eye. The main thing is to get a consistency that is convenient for you. We put this mass on the nails, wait 10 minutes for watching your favorite movie and wash it off with warm water. After that, as always, I rub hand cream or any oil into the nail plate. I do this mask 1-2 times in 2 weeks.

6.  mask for nail growth from red pepper and hand cream.

Mask Recipe:mix half a teaspoon of red pepper (seasoning) and 1 teaspoon of your favorite hand cream or baby cream. Apply the mixture to the nail plate. We keep the mask for about 10 minutes. According to the idea, red pepper can burn, but I don’t feel anything at all. Of course, if you have wounds, then this mask is contraindicated, you need to wait until everything heals.

A mask with pepper and cream speeds up blood circulation, blood carries more beneficial substances to the nails, due to which the nails grow much faster. I do this mask a maximum of 1 time per week.

I finished the home recipes, but I still have   purchased nail products. It:

It makes thin and soft nails hard, thereby protecting them from damage. This tool helps maintain the length of the nails and strengthens them. In addition, it is an excellent base for varnish, which firmly connects the varnish to the surface of the nail plate and increases the durability of the decorative varnish.

It helps soften the cuticle, it becomes more malleable to move. It also disinfects and nourishes the cuticle of the nail, slowing down growth.

Strengthens, nourishes nails, improves their structure, makes them more dense and protected. Also gives a well-groomed and neat look.

Beautiful manicure is impossible without healthy nails. But sometimes even girls caring for themselves and reverently referring to their hands, encounter such a problem as brittle nails. In fact, its causes can be much deeper than it seems at first glance, and indicate some problems in the body. We’ll talk about why women’s nails on their hands break.

Internal causes of brittle nails

Poor nail quality can be caused by a deficiency of certain vitamins and minerals in the body. The most common problem is a lack of calcium, magnesium, vitamin D, iodine, silicon, etc. Since most of the nutrients come through food, we advise you to slightly review your diet.

  • Calcium

It is found in dairy and dairy products, egg whites, spinach, sesame seeds, legumes, figs, broccoli, etc.

Essential for bones, connective tissue, a healthy state of the nervous system, as well as muscle contraction.

  • Silicon

It is found in radish, carrot radish, turnip, lettuce, mushrooms, as well as in nettle leaves.

It is necessary for the formation of cartilage, hair, nails, bones, connective tissue, blood capillaries.

  • Magnesium

It is found in whole grains of wheat, cereals, rye bread, legumes, bananas, spinach and nuts.

Essential for hormonal stability, normal cardiovascular function and DNA production.

If you are not sure which element your body lacks and whether brittle nails are associated with it at all, just in case, diversify your diet, give up diets and global restrictions, and if you wish, undergo a medical examination. Ready vitamin complexes will also help in the restoration of beneficial elements in the body.

The causes of brittle nails can be hidden in the following diseases and abnormalities:

  • Failure of metabolic processes;
  • Experienced severe inflammatory diseases;
  • Taking certain medications (antibiotics);
  • Problems with the gastrointestinal tract;
  • Low immunity;
  • Overwork, severe or chronic stress;
  • Psoriasis;
  • Fungus.

External causes of thin nails on the hands

Regular mechanical damage to the nail plate can cause thin nails. This is a wrong manicure or extension. To prevent thin nails when filing, what to do:

  • Use a glass or ceramic nail file (approximately 240 grit);
  • Polish your nails only with a soft, non-scratching buff. For thin nails, it can even be replaced with suede;
  • File nails only in one direction: for example, only from right to left.

The extension and gel polish applied to the nails should in theory not harm the nails. In fact, such cases are not uncommon. This is due to the lack of professionalism of the nail service master, with the use of products containing harmful components, with improper removal of unnatural nails, with this procedure being carried out too often - the nails should rest from heavy coatings for at least a week.

Another reason for brittle fingernails is regular contact with aggressive media and detergents, including acetone removers and varnishes themselves. Try to do all the work that could harm your nails and skin, gloves, and after doing things, grease your hands with cream.

The effect of low temperatures also adversely affects the condition of the nails, so do not forget to take care of them in the cold period of time.

After you find out why the nails break, you can proceed to their treatment. However, remember that if the reasons are hidden in the internal work of the body, cosmetic treatment will not work.

Nail fragility treatment

Home cosmetic procedures aimed at eliminating brittle nails are as follows:

  • Baths

The simplest and most effective remedy for brittle nails is to draw a small amount of warm, comfortable water into your cup, add 1 table.spoon of sea salt or bath salt to it, lower your hands and take 20 minutes water procedures.

Remember how nails began to harden and grow rapidly after visiting sea resorts? The described recipe will give the same effect, but at a much lower cost.

  • Oils

Oils have a lot of useful substances needed by the nails. In addition, their use for nails is very simple and effective: apply the mixture to the cuticles, rubbing and massaging each finger, put on gloves and go as long as possible until everything is absorbed.

By the mixture are meant various combinations of oils: olive, sunflower, peach, jojoba, wheat germ, etc. As well as adding liquid vitamins to them. They can be found in capsule form in almost any pharmacy at a very small price.

Vitamin A for nails can be rubbed both in pure form in the cuticle, and in the company of vitamins E, D. Vitamins in capsules are also very convenient because they can be added to all your favorite cosmetics: creams, gels, shampoos, etc. .

Before using vitamins, it is necessary to carry out a reaction to an allergy: drop a couple of drops on the back of your hand or wrist, wait a couple of hours and evaluate the result: if there is a rash, itching or other unpleasant sensations.

Now you know what to do with brittle fingernails, how to pre-evaluate your health and can prevent the situation from aggravating.

Stay beautiful!
