Dress from two scarves with your own hands. How to make a dress out of a scarf. Shawl Dress

Dress of two scarves.
This bright sundress looks very impressive, and you can sew such a sundress without a pattern in just an hour! The whole secret is that the sundress is sewn from two silk scarves with a print, so the sundress pattern is not required.
Buy 2 silk shawls. The length of the side of the scarf can be different - 0.8 m, 1 m, 1.2 m. The shorter the side of the scarf, the correspondingly shorter your dress. The length of the side of the scarfs in the photo of the sundress is about 1.0 m.

  1. Put a scarf on the figure, put a mark to cut a sundress on the chest. Sew below the headscarf mark (middle of the seam).

2. Wrap the scarves on the sides, connect on the back. A sundress cutout on the back can be made as you wish - a little deeper or a little higher.

3.Tap off the scarves by the mark, stitch it (the middle of the back is the seam).

4.Turn the allowances along the neckline of the sundress and the neckline of the back of the sundress, stitch.

5. Rub the rubber core in zigzag along the dashed lines, pull the cutter under the chest, adjust the tension, fasten the ends of the gum with a line.

6. Sew the finished straps to the corners of the scarves, cross the straps on the back and hem under the neckline of the back of the sundress.

Another version of the sundress, but from one scarf.
For him you will need a scarf with a maximum side length, otherwise it will turn out not a sundress, but a tunic.  Although ... why not.

Cut one corner, as shown in the figure. The width of the cut is the distance at which the straps will be located from each other. We bend the slices, or we process them with a strapless to tone.
Sew on the straps. Next, wrap the scarf around the body and mark the beginning of the middle seam of the back. Stitch the slices from the mark down. We cross the straps on the back and sew to the back.

OPTION 3.

You will need 3 scarves, suitable threads and braid for braid.
When you select a scarf in order to sew a sundress out of it, you can see if it is suitable in size by lifting it to the chest and holding it at one of the ends, as in the figure:

The whole process can be described in one diagram. You need to make three seams and sew on the straps.
For the front part, you need to fold two scarves and measure from one corner 17 cm.

From the second corner of 27 cm, as shown in the figure ... ... draw a diagonal line, make money and sew. I pressed the fabric with the baseboard :) for reference and made a profit. You can try to sew immediately, but the slippery fabric of the scarf will break out and spoil the line.

The front end is ready. Further back. We measure 17 cm on each side of the corner of the last scarf, pin pins to the free sides of the front.

Sew, starting from the bottom, precisely connecting the edges, to the pin.
It should be such a design, to which we have to sew straps.

The length of the strapless needs to be selected independently, depending on how you want the sundress to sit. I stabbed with pins and watched how it would be better - I chose the length at which the straps are quite far apart from each other - it looks better with wide shoulders. I started the tape from the side seams, sewing it to the edge of the fabric and additionally securing it to the corners. At the back, I just sewed it to the corner of the scarf, wrapping the tape so that it lay correctly.

You can sew a ribbon under your chest and tie or wear a sundress just with a belt.

OPTION 4. Dress from square coupons.

You will need two scarves (or two coupons) of 90x90 cm in size made of natural silk.  Sew two scarves around the edges according to the pattern:
Segment 1-2 - the middle of the front.
Segment 3-4 - the middle of the back.

Approximate distances from the corner of the scarf, where the seams of the front and back begin, are shown in the drawing.

Depending on your size, these distances can increase or decrease, estimate their sizes, having previously swept the edges of the scarves, and try on the dress for yourself. Sew on the straps by adjusting them in length. Put on the dress, outline the line of the drawstring under the chest. Stitch the drawstring from the wrong side, and push in the elastic band, adjusting its tension according to the figure. This is best done with a girlfriend or assistant.

If you want a dress with a more open back, as in the proposed photo, sew a back seam, having swept it off and measured the dress on yourself.

For this option, the back seam is shown by a dashed line in the diagram.

OPTION 5. Brown dress

For a brown dress, you will need three silk scarves with a beautiful border around the perimeter - the size of the scarf is 90x90 cm. Or two silk scarves of 140x140 cm in size.
If there are three shawls, before cutting, dock them together on the sides where the shared thread is. Open the dress, referring to the drawing.

Fold the scarves with their faces inward. Make sure that the threads on the shawls are in the same direction. The dress consists of two main parts, cut them in a mirror image.
Cutting and sewing are similar to a blue dress. The hem is not necessary to align.

And more options:

2.

Which woman does not want to look attractive? And you always want to wear only exclusive things that others do not have. However, not all fashionistas can afford the luxury of buying dresses from designers. Although there is always a way out, you just need to look into the cabinets with old things that have gone out of fashion. For example, from old grandmother's scarves you can sew stunning, bright

Light and elegant are still the most popular clothes for the summer. Models are short and to the floor, with curvy or high waist, comfortable and convenient in the summer heat. They are original, elegant, airy and at the same time favorably hide all the flaws of the figure.

In addition, there is another reason to choose sundresses from scarves: this outfit can easily be sewn with your own hands. Moreover, it is not necessary to have sewing skills. A little imagination, a couple of simple movements - and the new original outfit is ready! Bright models look quite spectacular, and they will be ready in literally an hour, and without any pattern.

The whole secret is that such a sundress is made of two scarves! The pattern is very simple, so it is done right on the fabric. How To do this:

Two scarves of the required width;

Threads matching the scarf;

Braid or elastic for drawstring;

Sewing machine and scissors.

Step 1. We fold two scarves face to face so that the shared threads coincide.

Cut off from them 6 cm of fabric on one side on the straps. It is possible for straps to take a braid to match the sundress. The length of the side of the shawl will be the length of the outfit. Therefore, based on the desired model, you can sew sundresses from scarves, the sizes of which are from 0.8 to 1.2 meters.

Step 2. Having put a scarf on ourselves, we mark the place for a cut on the chest. Shawls from the mark we grind down - this is the middle of the front.

Step 3. We connect the ends of the scarf on the back, wrapping them in a figure. Depending on the desire, we make a cutout on the back. We break off the scarves either a little deeper or a little higher - this is the middle of the back.

Step 4. We bend the allowances for the back and neckline and adjust.

Step 5. Under the chest, slightly above the waistline, we adjust the rubber vein from the inside with a zigzag, tighten the elastic band to the desired tension and fasten its ends with a line.

Step 6. Sew pre-prepared straps to the corners. You can cross them on the back and hem under the neckline. And that’s it - the fashionable and original outfit is ready!

Sundresses from scarves, photos of which are presented in this article, are sewn in different ways. They are quite simple in execution, but they are fascinated by the game of shawl colors. Silk fabric is usually chosen for sewing - it looks elegant. But you can take other light fabrics, such as chintz, chiffon.

Original sundresses from scarves will be appropriate in any environment. They can be worn for a walk along the sea coast to attract the views of others. In them you can feel easy, confident and free in the atmosphere of a cozy restaurant. Such an outfit will emphasize the individuality of any woman, her femininity and elegance and at the same time make her mysterious and mysterious.

If you add a new sarafan with an interesting belt or fun textile beads, a woman with her splendor is able to conquer the world in it.

For the manufacture you will need 2 large shawls. Their coloring should be the same. It is advisable to choose a similar pattern, combine large patterns on each side.

Initially, the top of the dress is sewn. It is worth leaving a hole for the head. After this, do side seams. Here, one should not forget about the openings for the hands. It is enough to try on the product and outline the necessary length so that the hands pass comfortably. The dress is almost ready. To make it look beautiful, you need to choose a nice, matching color strap or narrow belt. With it, the image will be completed.

From one scarf. Cut one corner, tuck the cut and make a drawstring. Sew the back seam. Insert the braid into the drawstring. Done! If desired, you can trim the dress so that the hem is flat (blue outline). You can tie the braid around your neck or cross it on your back and sew it on.

Dresses of two scarves on an oblique Dress 1 Sew 2 scarves on two adjacent sides, not reaching an angle of 20 cm. At the corners, make 2 loops and insert a braid. Front and back, choose the mood.

Dress 2. Sew 2 scarves on one side, not reaching an angle of 15 cm. It will be in front. Sew along the adjacent side, not reaching 20-30 cm. This is the back. Sew the braid to the corners.

If you make a strap 1.5–2 m long, you get dress transformer. You can tie the straps around the neck, on the shoulder, by shifting the seam in front of the side, or under the chest, crossing them on the back.

Dresses 3 and 4 You can limit yourself to short straps and make a drawstring under the chest. To do this, sew a ribbon or strip of fabric from the inside out along the dotted line. Insert a braid (it can be tied both on the back and on the chest through the hole in the seam) or an elastic band. Or just sew the braid under the chest in the center and tie over the dress. For an open back (blue dress in the photo) do not go to corners of 40 cm or more. Cut the hem along the red contour, from the remains, hide the wide straps and drawstring.

Straight dresses from two scarves. Dress 1.
Make 2 side seams, and turn the top edge of both scarves 3-4 cm. Pass a braid, cord or thick chain into the drawstring, which is now in trend. It will take 80-85 cm

And you can sew here such a blouse. To do this, cut the scarf in the center as shown and sew the straps.

So what do we need?

And matching strands and braid.

As I said, I bought scarves at H&M. They cost much cheaper than they looked)).

Their only drawback is the composition. Scarves are made of polyester. I prefer silk, but not very upset, because I plan to use a sarafan for a beach holiday, and even the best silk shawls will quickly become worthless from the sun and sea salt.

The scarf pattern is pretty simple.

When you select a scarf in order to sew a sundress out of it, you can see if it is suitable in size by lifting it to the chest and holding it at one of the ends, as in the figure:

Actually the whole process can be described in one diagram. You need to make three seams and sew on the straps.

For the front, you need to fold two scarves ...

Measure from one corner 17 cm ...

From the second corner of 27 cm, as shown in the figure ...

... draw a diagonal line, make money and sew. I pressed the fabric with the baseboard :) for reference and made a profit. You can try to sew immediately, but the slippery fabric of the scarf will break out and spoil the line.

We measure 17 cm on each side of the corner of the last scarf, pin pins to the free sides of the front.

Sew, starting from the bottom, precisely connecting the edges, to the pin.

It turns out such a design ...

... to which we have to sew straps.

I think many girls will come up with their own way to make straps, more convenient and more interesting.

You can sew the ribbon under your chest and tie it as in the pictures that I found on the net

There I found options sewn from two scarves, but I like them less. A well-readable drawing reveals too much the origin of such a sundress. And he looks more modest.

I decided to do without a ribbon and wear a sundress just with a belt.

And if you don’t like the result, then you can dissolve the seams and do something else ... for example, beads;))

  Blue dress

You will need two scarves 140x140 cm in size made of natural silk or a section of coupon silk 2.80 m with a width of 1.40 m. The cut may be shorter, it all depends on the pattern of the coupon.

Cut
. Fold 2 scarves with their faces inward. Make sure that the yarns on both shawls are in the same direction. Open, referring to the drawing (photo).

You will get two details of the dress with a seam along the front and back panels (front seam, back seam).
. The drawing shows the bodice length - 24 cm. The semicircle (Pr) length formed by this radius fits almost any size. The maximum girth under the chest is calculated by the formula - 3.14 x 24 + 2 (42-24) \u003d 111 (cm). To the length of the semicircle we add the length of the un sewn seam in the middle of the back.
I would like to warn that for a bra cup size exceeding "B", it is not recommended to sew this model. It does not provide support for the bust.
. From the remaining lunges of fabric, hide the ribbon for the drawstring 4 cm wide in the finished form, the drawstring - 5 cm wide in the finished form, the straps - 4 cm in the finished form. The length of the tape is 3 times longer than the circumference under the chest.
Straps are cut along the shared thread and be sure to glue them with a thin woven glue. It is better to cut these parts from the edge of the scarf if the edge is solid, but other parts of the fabric lunges can also be used. It depends on the color of your particular coupon.
. From the lunges of the fabric, trim the two lower parts of the bodice. Take the configuration of the details from the drawing (marked - LIF). Observe the same direction of the shared thread on the dress and the details of the bodice.

Sewing
. Sew the front seam. Sew the seam along the back from the hem to the mark *.
. Stitch out the straps and ribbon that you will pull into the drawstring.
. Stitch the straps (in the upper corners of the bodice). Place the lower parts of the bodice with the front side on the front side of the dress, and sew along the wrong side along all open sections, while fitting the straps. Turn out and iron. Attach the bottom of the bodice to the dress with prominent stitches. And sew a drawstring from the wrong side of the dress. She simultaneously closes the lower section of the bodice from the wrong side.
. Draw the ribbon into the drawstring, tie the straps around the neck. In the fitting, adjust the length of the straps.
. Before you align and process the bottom of the dress, let it hang: attach the weights to the hem and leave it suspended for 2-3 days. Align the bottom of the dress on a mannequin, or - with the help of an assistant, putting the dress on yourself.

We offer another solution - a dress made of square coupons. You will need two scarves (or two coupons) of 90x90 cm in size made of natural silk. Sew two scarves around the edges according to the pattern:
. Segment 1-2 - the middle of the front.
. Segment 3-4 - the middle of the back.

You will need two scarves 140x140 cm in size from natural silk with a pronounced graphic border.
The pattern and layout are shown in the drawing.

Details
. Detail of the bodice - (1), two parts. Cut out only for the front half of the dress.
. Drapery detail - (2). Cut out only for the front half of the dress.
. Front and back panels - (3) dresses: two identical parts.
. Stripes, 4 cm wide in finished form, for straps and jumpers (not shown in the drawing). Glue them to stiffen thin glue.
There are no sizes on the pattern. Refine them for your girths before cutting. The width of part 2, and the vertical part of part 3 sewn to it, should be 1/2 OG x 1.5, where OG is the girth under the chest, 1.5 is the drapery coefficient.

Dress assembly
. Sew tucks on part 1 or don’t make tucks, but assemble the bottom of part 1 for assembly.
. Sew part 2 to part 3 along the vertical seam (red line). And collect both parts on a rubber vein, or pull on the threads laid at intervals of 1.5 cm.
. On part 3 (for both parts - the front and back), stitch the tucks or sew a rubber vein in several rows where the tucks are located, thus collecting the fabric in drapery. Connect all three parts of the front half of the dress (part 1, 2, 3) together.
. Stitch the front and back halves of the dress along the side sections of part 3, continuing each line along the line indicated by the dotted line in the drawing.
. Treat the upper section of the dress and the neckline on the back with a border from the cuts of the scarf.
. On the back, make two jumpers, referring to the photo, and decorate them with decorative buckles, which simultaneously serve as fasteners. The same buckle was also used to decorate the bodice of the dress.

In my opinion, she hemmed a little on the sides so that the blouse was not wide on the chest.

On the one hand we sew the scarves together, and on the other we sew the buttons. For the belt: roll the scarf into a triangle, then bend it again to get a wide strip that you can sew (fix) if you wish
