The Year of the Monkey is coming
And the chimpanzee doesn't know
About the coming New Year,
Only bringing us joy.
And the people? People clearly know
That the year of the Goat succeeds another,
And it is called the Year of the Monkey,
And for sure, we will have to go to court.
And he will bring peace to the big planet,
And both adults and children will be happy,
And the sun will smile at us, earthlings,
And everyone's ray will touch the sun.

I suggest you make such a cute monkey.

To work you need the following materials and tools:
- felt of two colors,
- chenille wire in the color of a monkey (1-2 pieces),
- thread, needle,
- satin ribbon 2 cm wide,
- beads, sequins, beads,
- scissors,
- glue,
- pencil,

Since a needle and scissors will be used in the work, safety precautions with cutting and piercing tools must not be forgotten.
Execution order:
Step 1 - preparing the patterns.
Cut out paper patterns.

Step 2 - preparing the parts.
In this work, we used burgundy felt and beige. You can use any other colors. So, fold the burgundy felt in half, apply a head-body pattern, circle and cut out the details. For those who find it difficult to cut two parts at once, then you need to circle the pattern twice. Put the muzzle, tummy and inner ears on the beige felt, circle the patterns and cut out the details. Here's what you should get.

From the chenille wire (its length is 30 cm), cut 14 cm for the lower limbs, 8.5 cm for the upper limbs, 7.5 cm for the tail. (The dimensions of the blanks can be changed). If your wire is shorter, use two.

Step 3 - assembling the product.
Fold the two head-body pieces together and start sewing with a buttonhole. Insert the upper limbs between the parts first, continuing to sew, insert the lower limbs and tail. Give the wire the desired shape.

Sew the monkey to the end. You can leave in this version without hair.

Or you can sew on your hair. In this case, wool is used for felting; you can also use woolen threads or thinly cut strips of felt. It's up to you.

Make a loop of thread in the center of the head.

Cut out the nose for the monkey from burgundy felt and glue it on the muzzle. Sew on eyes - sequins with beads. For the eyes, you can also use beads, rhinestones, small buttons, ready-made eyes, bought in a store - this is at your discretion. Draw a mouth with a pen.

Glue the finished muzzle, tummy and inner ears on the monkey.

Step 4 - product design.
For a skirt, cut off 15 cm of the satin ribbon, singe the sections (can be replaced with lace, braid).

Sew one edge with a small seam "forward needle" and pull off, forming a beautiful assembly.

Place the sections of the skirt on top of each other from the back and sew the skirt around the monkey.

Glue a small decoration on your hair, it can be a bow or a flower.

That's all. The monkey is ready.

May the monkey New Year
It will bring joy to all of us,
And so that this year is active
Everything turned out wonderfully for everyone!

I wish you creative success!

How to sew a symbol of 2016: do-it-yourself felt monkey

To make a felt Monkey you will need:

  • acrylic felt 3 mm thick (brown, pale pink, yellow, hot pink);
  • needle;
  • scissors;
  • floss threads (brown, pink, black);
  • transparent polyurethane glue of the "Moment Crystal" type;
  • small pink beads;
  • 2 black beads with a diameter of 0.5 cm;
  • synthetic winterizer;
  • bamboo skewer;
  • a brush with a hard bristle;
  • blush.

Felt Monkey Pattern

1 - back side of the head;

2 - detail of fur on the forehead;

3 - muzzle;

4 - torso;

6 - detail of the outer part of the ear;

7 - detail of the inner part of the ear;

8 - heel;

9 - tail;

10 - flower;

11 - flower core.

I cut out the details of the Monkey from felt:

  • 2 parts of the torso, 2 parts of the tail, 1 part of the back of the head, 1 part of the fur on the forehead, 1 part of the nose, 2 parts of the outer part of the ears - from brown felt;
  • 1 detail of the face, 2 details of the heels, 2 details of the inner part of the ears - made of soft pink felt;
  • 1 flower detail - bright pink felt;
  • 1 detail of the heart of the flower - yellow felt.

I glue together the details of the ponytail and sew them along the contour with an overcast seam with a brown floss thread in two folds.

I cut out 1 piece of the body from the padding polyester and glue it to one of the similar felt details.

On top of the padding polyester I glue the tail, and then the second piece of the body made of felt.

With a brown thread floss in two folds I sew the parts of the body with an overcast seam, tucking the edges of the sintepon part inside the felt craft.

To create additional volume as the toy is stitched, I fill the lower and upper legs of the Monkey with scraps of padding polyester using a bamboo skewer.

I glue the details of the heels made of soft pink felt to the lower legs of the Monkey. In order for the glued parts to hold well, the glue should be applied in a thin layer to the entire surface of the heel part, and after gluing, press the parts together with force.

To the detail of the face I glue the detail of the fur on the head of the Monkey.

For control, it is advisable to match the front half of the Monkey's head made of felt with the detail on the back of the head and, if necessary, correct the location of the fur detail before the glue hardens.

From the seamy side, the finished part of the front of the Monkey's head looks like this:

In the place where the part of the fur on the Monkey's head fits to the muzzle, I sweep it along the contour with a brown floss thread.

To make the seam look more neat and not particularly conspicuous, I use a floss in one fold.

I cut out 1 piece of the head from synthetic winterizer and glue it to the wrong side of the front side of the Monkey's head. Despite some inconvenience in the further design of the muzzle, this should be done at this stage of the work. So the muzzle of the felt Monkey will come out more lively and voluminous.

I glue the spout part in the same way as the heel parts.

With a brown floss thread in four folds, I embroider a mouth, making a long stitch with a forward stitch.

At the end of the stitch, I make a "French knot".

I sew black beads in place of the eyelet, grabbing not only felt, but also a synthetic winterizer, and tightly pulling the working thread. This will keep the beads from sticking out too much and hopefully look like eyes.

In the corners of the peephole of the Monkey from felt I embroider cilia with black floss in two folds.

I glue a flower made of bright pink felt and a yellow core to the detail of the front half of the head.

I trim the core of the flower along the contour with pink beads.

I glue together the details of the outer and inner surfaces of the ears.

I glue the details of the ears to the details of the back of the head.

I sew the details of the head with an overcast seam using a floss in two folds. Moreover, I sweep the upper part of the Monkey's head with a brown thread, and the lower one with pink.

I sew the finished piece of the Monkey's head from felt to the body with a blind seam.

And finally, I tint the Monkey's cheeks with blush, applying them with a brush with a hard bristle.

As you can see, it's not difficult to sew a felt Monkey with your own hands!

And how much pleasure your child will get from communicating with a new toy - you simply cannot convey! And do not be surprised if the little one turns into a funny funny Monkey for a while.

Felt toys are so warm and cuddly, cute and beautiful. They are simple to perform, but how much joy they bring to others.

Funny miniature toys are made from this soft to the touch material. They can decorate a Christmas tree for the New Year, make a garland, a bouquet of flowers, or just sew wonderful little animals and dolls.

New 2016 is the year of the monkey, so I propose to sew a beautiful monkey out of felt with your own hands, as a symbol of the next year.

DIY felt monkey - pattern and master class:

Before proceeding directly to sewing the felt monkey, we need to print a pattern with the details of the monkey.

We redraw all the details from the pattern onto felt in the required amount of the desired color and cut out with scissors.

Next, we will take all the details necessary for sewing the head.

Place a cream colored circle on the brown circle.

Place the face on top of the two parts.

Sew all the pieces together with overcasting stitches and at the end of sewing leave a small hole for stuffing.

We fill the head with holofiber and sew up the hole with the same overlock stitches.

Next, we sweep the inside of the face.

As in the case of stitching the head, we do the same with the monkey's ears. Put a light one on the brown eyelet and a brown arc on top of it. Sew along the arcuate part with an overcast stitch.

We fill the eyelet with holofiber.

We sweep the inner part of the ear.

Sew the eyelet along the bottom seam and form a shell.

We sew together the details of the handles and legs.

We fill the arms and legs with holofiber.

Now let's start assembling the torso. To do this, we begin to sew the body, then insert one handle, sewing it on and continue to sew the body to the place where the legs will be located.

We insert the legs and also sew them with overlock stitches.

Next, we sew the body, sew on the second handle and finish sewing, securing the thread.

We fill the body with holofiber.
We sweep the belly in a circle.

Sew ears to the head, and sew the head to the body with secret stitches.

We sweep the tail along the entire length and also sew it to the body.

We decorate the monkey's face out of felt, for this we sew eyes from black beads, cut out a small nose and forelock from brown felt, glue them onto glue Moment. We embroider the mouth and navel with pink thread.

Powder the cheeks and a little belly with pink blush.

The felt monkey is ready. It is completely handmade.
