How to sew a skirt for a girl: master class. Fashionable children's skirts from old jeans - patterns and descriptions Do-it-yourself children's skirts with patterns

Creating a wonderful wardrobe with your own hands for a little fashionista is the dream of any mother. In addition to the fact that you can realize your fantasies, this idea is also attractive because of the fairly large cost savings. Making a skirt pattern for a girl is quite simple, but you need to be patient and have some materials.

How to choose a style?

Before creating a full-fledged product, it is recommended to decide what appearance and style it will be. Skirt patterns for girls vary depending on the chosen style. The products themselves vary in complexity of production, and there are also some styles that require certain fabrics. For example, a tartan cannot be made of silk or other light material, and a tutu cannot be made of woolen fabric. For little girls of kindergarten age, curvy styles are most acceptable, and for girls of school age, any - more or less loose - will suit. It all depends on the mobility of the skirt; the loose cut does not restrict movement, which is very important. Some mothers prefer to sew skirts with shorts for their daughters, so that nothing interferes with the child’s enjoyment of movement and life in general.

Making a skirt

For any product you need measurements, often for a skirt you need no more than 3, all the rest are calculated from the original data. If it is not possible to constantly measure the child, or if the item is being prepared as a gift or for sale, you can use standard sizes according to GOST, or you can prepare an individual base pattern. The essence of such a pattern is a construction that uses all possible measurements of a person. The entire pattern is made in a plane, which leaves a special imprint; all the “girths” on it become “half-girths”.

Before creating a product, you need to carefully consider all the details, the location of darts and small parts, if any. Reshaping the product during sewing is fraught with complete failure of the work. You can add stripes and appliques to the product after completing the main stages.

Each product is unique, but there are general principles that a seamstress must follow:

  • Markings on fabric are made only with washable substances such as soap or pencil. Pen and markers do not wash off from fabric.
  • Any markings and all marks for correction are applied only on the wrong side of the product.
  • When working with materials on which damage is visible and cannot be corrected, you need to very carefully monitor all stages and avoid making mistakes.
  • On all products you need to make seam allowances, and in some places and products you also need to make additional lengths designed for hems.
  • Marking the seams is an integral stage of the work; it is necessary so that the fabric does not move during stitching.
  • Marking seams is not necessary, but professional seamstresses never skip it; thanks to this stage, the product becomes much neater. Overcasting is indispensable if the work involved “fraying” fabrics.

Skirt sun

The easiest skirt to sew and pattern for girls is the circle skirt. This model is universal in its way, suitable for both little girls and adult women. The main thing is to choose the appropriate length and design. To mark, you will need only 2 measurements: skirt length and waist circumference.

It is customary to measure the length starting from the waist, but if you are planning to cut a skirt pattern for a girl’s dress, then the measurement will begin where the hem begins. The same applies to the girth required to calculate the radius - you need to measure the area in which the top of the product will be.

Skater skirt pattern

A DIY skirt pattern for girls can be of 2 types: seamless and two-seam, it all depends on the size of the fabric. So, for a seamless one, a fabric with a width and length equal to 2 skirt lengths, plus 2 radii, plus seam allowances is required. A two-seam skirt requires fabric that is equal in width to the sum of the length, radius and seam allowance, and in length - 4 skirt lengths, 4 radii and seam allowance.

To pattern a seamless skirt, you need to fold the fabric 2 times, first horizontally, then vertically. This simple technique allows you not to bother creating a symmetrical drawing by cutting out just one part. The development starts from the upper corner, at which the edges of the fabric do not intersect, or more precisely, the nominal middle of the fabric. A radius is laid off from the point and a quarter of the circle is drawn, the next quarter is laid off to the same point, only now the radius is equal to the sum of the original radius and the length of the skirt.

  • The radius is calculated based on the waist circumference and is equal to r=from/2π.
  • They usually bend 2-3 cm.
  • It is customary to sew a belt onto such a skirt; the width of the belt varies at the request of the creator.
  • The model may have a zipper or an elastic band; in this case, the girth of the hips, rather than the waist, is taken as the basis.

Skirt-year

What do you need to know about this model before starting the pattern? A girl's skirt (pattern) consists of six parts, but you will only need 2 patterns. This is due to complete identity. 2 parts - front and back, and 4 side. The last but optional detail is the belt.

The skirt drawing is based on a simple straight skirt. To create, you will need the following measurements:

  • Hip volume divided into 6 equal segments.
  • The length of the skirt - visually you need to divide it into 3 equal parts.
  • Waist circumference - will be needed to create darts.

In essence, the product involves 2 even triangles, one-third sewn together. The second part consists of four triangles, sewn together in pairs and “inserted” into the cut. This entire structure is hemmed and adjusted to fit using darts. If you are planning a product for a small child, then the product should be made larger and “put” on an elastic band. The pattern of a skirt for a girl with an elastic band is no different from the original with a belt and a zipper.

Fluffy skirt

The simplest thing possible. In essence, it resembles a simple rectangle with sides fastened together. For a little girl, when creating such a model, it is better to take fabric several girths long, for example - 3. An integral feature is a belt cut exactly according to the waist girth. The folds are carefully placed under the belt, the result is a fluffy and cute product, and very comfortable for little girls. Using the same principle, you can make ballet tutus from tulle, and instead of a belt, choose a bright wide ribbon to match the product.

By following all the rules, even a novice seamstress can create a product indistinguishable from those presented in accessible chains of children's clothing stores.

Skirts for girls

Skirts for my girl

To sew a skirt for a girl, you don’t need to have the skills of a high-class dressmaker. Sewing a skirt for a girl is quick and easy.

Surely you have had situations when you urgently needed to sew a skirt for your daughter for a dance or theater group.

Or maybe you just have a wonderful piece of fabric lying around that you bought a long time ago, and now you don’t know where to put it. Here are a few ways that will help you sew a baby skirt for your daughter in just 15 minutes. These simple and quick methods are available even if you are not an experienced seamstress.

Skirt for little ones "Tatyanka"

Skirt style "Tatyanka"- one of the simplest “skirt” styles.

To sew skirt "Tatyanka" you will need:

elastic band 3 cm wide, fabric and threads

You don't even need to make a pattern for this skirt.

All we need is a rectangular piece of fabric.

The length of the fabric cut should be equal to the length of the skirt + seam allowances (elastic band and finishing of the bottom of the skirt). If a girl is 116 cm tall, then the length of the skirt will be approximately 33 cm, add 7 cm for the allowance, we get 40 cm of fabric needed for the skirt.

The width of the cut should be equal to the circumference of the hips multiplied by 2. And even better, if the width of the skirt (i.e. fabric) is 2.5 times greater than the circumference of the hips. In this case, the skirt will turn out fluffy and beautiful.

The first thing to do is fold the side sections of the fabric facing inward and stitch a seam width of 1 cm. Process the edges.

Then you need to bend the top section of the skirt to the width of the elastic (4cm) and stitch it into a hem, leaving a distance of 1-1.5cm between the beginning and end of the stitching to pull the elastic through.

Using a safety pin, thread the elastic through and stitch the ends together into a ring.

A wide elastic band can be replaced with a regular narrow one. Then the hem of the top edge needs to be made wider and several parallel lines should be sewn along the waistband, each time retreating a little more than the width of the elastic.

The bottom edge of the skirt also needs to be finished with a closed hem stitch. 1 cm wide. Iron the skirt. She's ready!

Such skirts can be sewn for both summer and winter by choosing a warmer fabric.

Watch the video,

which shows how to sew a warm Tatyanka skirt.

Skirt for girls with wide elastic band

You can sew such a skirt for a girl in literally 15 minutes.

You will need:

Wide elastic band, knitted fabric with ruffles.

You can choose any fabric for the skirt, but I recommend purchasing a knitted fabric with already knitted ruffles. Firstly, such skirts for girls are now very fashionable, and secondly, the cut of such fabric does not fray and there will be no need to process the bottom and side seams of the skirt, which will reduce sewing time. This knitted fabric of different colors can be found in any fabric store. The skirt in the photo is suitable for school.

The length of such a fabric when purchased is calculated depending on the number of ruffles that the skirt will have.

The width of the cut should be equal to the circumference of the hips multiplied by 1.3. If you take regular fabric (without ruffles), then multiply the hip circumference by 2.

First we sew the elastic sections together. We process the edges so that they do not fray, do not unravel and are neat in appearance.

Then we sew the side sections of the fabric facing inward. Be careful that the edges of the ruffles must match. Fabric like the one in the photo does not need to be processed.

Then we pin the upper edge of the skirt to the elastic, evenly gathering and distributing the fabric. To be sure, you can sew the fabric to the elastic “live.” All that remains is to sew along the edge of the elastic with a zigzag seam.

A skirt is made for your daughter!

Your daughter will be able to wear this skirt for more than one year. Stretchable elastic band provides room for growth.

Skirt "Sun" for girls

It is believed that sewing a “Sun” skirt is very difficult. But I assure you, it can be done in 15 minutes!

Sewing a “Sun” skirt is very simple if you make it with an elastic band.

Required:

wide elastic band, fabric and decorative braid for finishing the bottom of the skirt.

We calculate the length of the cut as follows: (length of the skirt from the waist + 2cm + R) multiplied by 2.

R = hip circumference: 6

The length of the wide elastic band is waist circumference minus 5cm.

The braid is about 4 meters. Depends on the length of the skirt.

Skirt "Sun" with elastic

Next, fold the fabric four times, carefully measure the required distance from the corner that ends up in the center of the fabric. To prevent the fabric from moving, pin it together. Cut it out. We process the resulting sections (inner-top of the skirt and outer-bottom of the skirt) so that the fabric does not fray.
Then, we grind down the edges of the elastic. And we sew the skirt fabric to the elastic band, (same as in the previous version) having previously secured them with pins or basting.

The bottom of the skirt was left unfinished. I must say that it is not so easy to hem the bottom edge of the “Sun” skirt. Therefore, it is better to use a different edge processing method. A decorative braid chosen to match the tone or contrast of the fabric is suitable for this. You just need to sew it from the front side onto the finished edge of the bottom of the skirt.

This is a good way to sew summer skirts for girls from silk and light fabrics.
This is the easiest way to sew a full skirt for a girl. There is no zipper and no side seams, so sewing time will take no more than 15 minutes.

But if desired, such a skirt can be made in two layers by hemming another layer of thin fabric inside.

You can combine colors: The top layer of the skirt is multi-colored - the bottom layer is plain, the top layer is dark (bright) - the bottom layer is light.

Summer skirt for girls "Country"

To sew such a skirt you will need jeans, or denim shorts, or a denim skirt and a piece of light fabric with a pattern.

Of course, hardly anyone would want to sew such a skirt on purpose, but if you have damaged jeans or a denim skirt, then the top from them may well give life to a new idea.

The amount of fabric depends on how long you want the skirt to be and how tightly gathered it is.

First, cut the top of the jeans to create a yoke.

We cut out the lower part of the skirt from bright fabric. You may end up with one or two side seams. Stitch and sew the skirt fabric to the top. Then we process the bottom edge. The lower part of the skirt can be made of several layers. photo 2.

As you can see, sew a skirtfor girl not difficult at all

And finally,

look at the version of a skirt for a girl that doesn’t even need to be sewn!

This tutu skirt will delight any little princess.

You will need:

  • Approximately 50 rectangular pieces of soft tulle or mesh
  • Elastic band for clothes (waist circumference minus 5 cm)
  • Satin ribbons, bows, fabric flowers

We cut the tulle into rectangles.

Width 20cm. Length = skirt length x 2 +3cm

Tulle is easily cut in bulk. You can cut 10 layers at once.
First of all, we sew the elastic band (you can simply tie it in a knot) and put it on the back of the chair.

Then we take tulle ribbons and tie them with an elastic band. You can tie it in several ways:

1. With a regular double knot.

2. Fold the tulle strip in half. Wrap the elastic band around and thread the ends through the resulting loop. Tighten, but not too tight.

3. Or you can not tie it at all, but use a stapler. Wrap the ribbon around the elastic, squeeze it and staple it under the elastic. It will take skill, the main thing is to fasten each ribbon separately so that the skirt can easily stretch.

You can use tulle of several colors and alternate them. The skirt will be more fun if you decorate it with satin ribbons, bows or flowers.

If you make such a white skirt, then we can say that your “Snowflake” costume for the New Year is ready.

If you make such a skirt a little longer, attach satin ribbon straps and tie it with a belt, you will get a wonderful dress. This is the easiest way to make a New Year's costume from tulle for a fairy.

Don't be afraid to invent and add something of your own. Be sure to sew and knit something for your children. A skirt for a daughter, a hat or scarf for a son. Children should have at least one thing knitted or sewn by their mother’s caring hands.

If you are wondering how to sew a school skirt for your daughter, then the proposed model is definitely suitable for this purpose. This pleated skirt for girls is quite simple to sew and looks great.

Required measurements

To sew a skirt, the following measurements are required:

  • waist circumference From- 55 cm
  • hip girth About- 63 cm
  • length of the product Di- 35 cm

Increases in looseness of fit:

  • to waist circumference - 1 cm
  • to hip circumference - 3 cm

We get: From = 56 cm; About = 66 cm. We will use these dimensions for calculations.

Calculation of folds on a skirt

Sewing a pleated skirt is not at all difficult if you calculate the folds correctly at the very beginning.

First of all, for a skirt with a circular pleat, you need to decide on the number of pleats on the skirt. This value is related to the distance between the folds - the greater this distance, the fewer the number of folds and vice versa.

In our example, we will focus on the distance between the folds of approximately 4 cm. Divide the hip circumference by this distance: 66/4 = 16.5 pcs.

There cannot be a fractional value for the number of folds, so we take the nearest even (simpler) number - 16. Eight folds in the front and the same number in the back.

Now we calculate the distance between the folds in reverse: 66/16 = 4.125 cm. There may be a fractional number here, let’s round it to 4.1 cm. Let us clarify the hip circumference due to rounding: 16 * 4.1 = 65.6 cm.

Let's take the depth of the fold to be 8 cm. This value is taken the same as twice the distance between the folds or a little less for folds located close to each other. But you can take less if, for example, there is not enough fabric.
Estimated width of each of the two panels:

(8 cm + 4.1 cm) * 8 = 96.8 cm. Plus side seam allowances. For clarity, Fig. 1 shows the layout on the fabric of all the details of a pleated skirt for a girl.

The fabric is 1.4 m wide and laid out in one layer. Consumption - 80 cm.

Before cutting, mark all the folds directly on the fabric, count that there are 16 of them, and then feel free to cut the fabric. How to mark the folds is shown in Fig. 2.

To ensure that the stitching seams of the panels are not visible, the edge of the fabric (the future seam) should fall on the inner fold of the fold.

We draw it, retreating to the width of the seam allowance (the first dotted line on the left). From this line to the right we mark all other folds, at a distance of 12.1 cm from each other.

When the folds are marked, you can cut. Don’t forget about seam allowances: leave 1.5 cm on the sides and top, 3-4 cm on the hem.

Figure 3 shows a general view of all the folds (they are shaded in gray).

It is by this amount that we will increase the depth of the folds at the top along the waist line. The red dotted line in Fig. 4 is the temporary stitch line. It is laid exactly along the intended line from top to bottom.

After ironing the folds and sewing on the waistband, we will remove this stitch, so the stitching pitch is maximum, loosen the thread slightly.

In this way, we sew in all the folds and iron them in one direction.

Having laid the skirt flat on the table, we pin each fold along the waist line (without distortions), and then we fix them all with a stitch along the entire upper edge.

We sew a zipper into the side seam. Finally, sew on the belt.
There were more conversations than work with the skirt!

Don't hesitate to ask if anything is not clear. I will add it to the article or answer you personally.

It’s not for nothing that they say that a sense of style is instilled from an early age. It is important that a child at an early age wears not just practical and comfortable things, but also beautiful ones. The task of choosing clothes can be somewhat simplified and instead of shopping, sew things yourself. This article will present several practical tips on cutting and sewing different models of skirts for girls.

How to sew a children's skirt with your own hands

Without any doubt, every girl is a fashionista. In addition, there are situations when a child needs to perform at a matinee, concert, or go to a dance competition. In order not to run to the store for a new skirt, every mother is quite capable of sewing a thing with her own hands. The main thing is to choose a model of a children's skirt, draw up a pattern, transfer it to the fabric, then process the seams and decorate the product.

How to cut a child's skirt

  • Each pattern will be different depending on the features of the skirt model. But the process of creating a pattern itself consists of several steps.
  • First, you need to take measurements. To create a pattern, only three measurements are required: waist size, hip size and the length of the future product. The waist is measured at its narrowest point, and the hips at its widest. The data is recorded in half the value with an addition of 1-2 cm for allowances. The length of the skirt depends on the wishes of the child.
  • Secondly, you need to prepare a sheet of whatman paper and build a pattern on it according to the data.

Thirdly, the finished pattern should be laid on the fabric and the skirt elements should be cut out.

The “Tatyanka” style is rightfully considered one of the simplest skirt styles. The model of such a skirt turns out to be fluffy. You don't even need a pattern to complete it. So, what are the stages of sewing a children's full skirt?

  • The first step is to decide on the type of fabric and cut out a piece of fabric with the required parameters. A piece of fabric should be prepared, taking into account allowances for the elastic and processing of the bottom seam. For example, if a skirt is made for a girl with a height of 116 cm, and the estimated length of the product is 34 cm, then, taking into account allowances of approximately 5-7 cm, the cut length should be 40 cm. The cut width is equal to the hip circumference multiplied by 2.5 . Due to this, the effect of splendor is achieved.

  • In the second stage, fold the fabric in half along the side seam with the front part facing inward and sew a seam 1 cm wide.
  • At the third stage, you need to stitch the top and bottom sections of the skirt into the hem.
  • At the final stage, the finished product should be ironed.

How to sew a children's skirt from jeans

You can sew an interesting thing for a girl from scrap materials, for example, from a pair of jeans. Below you will find step-by-step instructions for sewing a jeans skirt.

  • First of all, you need to take measurements and build a pattern based on them.
  • On a piece of whatman paper you need to draw a horizontal line, its length should be equal to half the hip circumference plus 2-3 cm for allowances.
  • Next, in the middle, perpendicularly, you should draw a horizontal line, the length of which is equal to the length of the skirt.
  • After this, you need to draw two side lines with a slight extension downwards.
  • Next, the pattern must be cut in half along the center line and transferred to the denim.
  • The cut out halves of the skirt should be sewn. Then you need to cut out a belt from the fabric, insert an elastic band and process the bottom cut.

How to sew a children's skirt from tulle

Tulle is a light, airy material. It will not be difficult to sew a children's elegant skirt from it. You can choose material of various colors.

  • To work, you will need about one and a half meters of tulle, from which you need to cut about 50 rectangular parts with a width of 20 cm and a length corresponding to the length of the product.

  • First you need to connect the ends of the elastic band.

  • Then each cut tulle ribbon should be secured with an elastic band by tying a double knot or securing it with a stapler. You can alternate tulle ribbons of different colors or decorate the finished product with satin ribbon, flowers, and bows.

How to sew a baby skirt from an old skirt

It is quite acceptable that in every wardrobe there are old things that have gone out of fashion. So why not take advantage of this and alter them in such a way that you get new beautiful things.

For example, in my mother’s wardrobe there was an old long denim skirt.

  • In order to transform it into a children's skirt, you need to take measurements and mark the length so that you can cut off an unnecessary piece of material.
  • It is necessary to cut off more excess fabric along the side seam line, and then stitch them.
  • A stitch should be placed along the bottom edge of the product.
  • To decorate such a children's skirt, you can attach an applique or, from the remnants of the fabric of the same old skirt, cut out pockets and sew them on.

How to sew a children's skirt with elastic

The model of a children's skirt with a wide elastic band is practical because it fits tightly, does not move, and is comfortable for the child to play and walk in. To sew such a skirt you need to purchase fabric, it can be any, but wide elastic looks better on knitted skirts.

  • First you need to cut out the main parts of the skirt and connect them.
  • Then you should sew the edges of the elastic.
  • Then you need to pin an elastic band to the upper edge of the product and start a zig-zag stitch.

How to decorate a child's skirt

As mentioned above, children's clothing should not only be practical and functional, but also bright. This effect can be achieved using different ways of decorating clothes. The easiest way to decorate a child's skirt is to glue it with a hot iron or sew on an applique. Embroidery and satin ribbons will look no less interesting on the skirt. A good solution to decorate a child’s skirt is to attach large flowers to it. You can use buttons and snakes of non-standard shape.

How to sew a child's skirt with flounces

In order to make an elegant skirt with flounces, you will need more fabric, because you need to sew the base of the skirt and the flounces. The number of flounces depends on the length of the skirt. For example, with a skirt length of approximately 20-22 cm, you will need four flounces 7 cm wide.

  • At the first stage, you need to cut out the base of the trapezoidal skirt and mark on it the areas for the belt, for each flounce and for the bottom seam.
  • To make flounces, you need to cut strips from the fabric, trim their edges, and then run a stitch along the length of each strip, slightly shirring the fabric.
  • The flounces must be secured to the base of the skirt, starting from the bottom.
  • At the final stage, all that remains is to sew on the belt and insert the elastic.

How to knit a children's pleated skirt

A skirt for a girl can not only be sewn, but also knitted. For example, a model of a woolen children's ruffled skirt will look cute. Based on the assumption that the child is 3-4 years old, you will need approximately 200 g of wool.

  • The first row must be knitted as follows: first one edge loop, then seven knit stitches and one purl stitch, then repeat the repeat and finally make one edge loop.
  • In the second row, one edge loop is knitted, four knit stitches and one purl stitch, seven knit stitches, one purl stitch, rapport and three knit stitches are repeated.

Further rows are knitted alternately: the first and second rows.

Every mother knows how important her daughter's appearance is. Everyone is greeted by their clothes, and even little girls need to be stylish and original. You can make a unique thing for a little fashionista with your own hands.

Little fashionistas don't always like what's on the store counter. And the prices for children's things are completely undemocratic. Therefore, mothers often wonder: how to sew an original skirt for a young fashionista? There is nothing complicated in sewing this wardrobe item, you just need to decide on the style and purchase the materials necessary for sewing. And go ahead, get to work!

Types of children's skirts

The most difficult stage is choosing the model you will sew. There are a large number of options for children's skirts, here are some of them:

  • classical;
  • skirt with flounces;
  • skirt with original asymmetry or train.

When sewing, it is important to remember that you are sewing for a little fidget, so you should not make a floor-length skirt, or too narrow, which will hinder the baby’s movement. It is better to stick to natural fabrics if you are sewing something for everyday wear, but for a festive occasion you can choose more elegant fabrics: bright tulle, organza or jacquard.

Modern trends in children's fashion

When choosing a style, be sure to take into account current trends in children's fashion. This year, all global brands are offering to dress little fashionistas just like adults. The family look does not lose its popularity(from the English “family-look”) - when parents and children dress in the same style. If you don’t want to lag behind world fashion trends and at the same time want to maintain your unique style, you should take a closer look at the godet style skirt. This model is perfect for both mother and daughter. Godet combines a classic straight-cut skirt, which widens at the bottom and creates an interesting volume.

Such a new thing will surely captivate the baby with its originality and convenience, and the mother will be pleased with the versatility of the model and ease of execution.

For sewing, you can use almost any fabric of your choice.

Godet skirt - style features

The style of the skirt will suit any figure: for large girls it will help balance the figure by narrowing the upper part of the silhouette; and for slender and thin girls, such a skirt will add volume and fluffiness due to the frills at the bottom. This thing can be combined and allows you to create different images: with a classic white one for a celebration, with a knitted sweater and biker jacket for a walk, with a thin turtleneck and a fitted jacket for school.

How to cut an eight-piece skirt

A godet skirt is modeled on the basis of a basic skirt pattern, using the general principles of constructing patterns for both adults and children. It is important to use your measurements when creating a pattern: waist circumference, hip circumference, and you also need to independently determine the length of the product.

To construct the godet skirt, cut the front and back parts of the base pattern in half. We mark on it the level from which the flaring will begin. For example, let’s take a skirt for an adult with a length of 60 cm and make the flare at a level of 20 cm from the bottom. You can set the length of the product yourself, but we do not recommend sewing long skirts that restrict movement for girls under 3 years old. For girls 5-7 years old, knee-length is suitable, and older girls can choose any length, the main thing is that the young fashionista likes the product.

The width can also be set to your taste, in the example we will set aside 12.5 cm on each side of the base pattern, this option allows you to create a wide flounce at the bottom.

Sewing technology

Materials for sewing the product:

  • tape measure;
  • ruler;
  • pattern paper;
  • scissors;
  • threads;
  • needle;
  • textile;
  • sewing machine.

First step: fold a piece of fabric into two layers, lay out the pattern of the front and back parts of the skirt on the fabric and trace it with chalk. Leave seam allowances of 1 cm on each side and 3 cm at the bottom.

You need to cut the skirt along the grain thread, otherwise the product may “skew” during wear.

When creating a pattern, you need to work very carefully with allowances. Since the product consists of 8 parts, each measurement error will be multiplied by eight times.

We mark on the parts where the front and back parts are. For adults, this is necessary, since when sewing godet for women, there is often not enough volume in the back and there is excess volume in the waist area.

When cutting a children's skirt, you can make a pattern of wedges of the same size, since girls under 12 years old do not have pronounced volumes in the hips.

Second step: cut out the parts, there will be 8 wedges in total. Additionally, we will cut the belt. Now we connect the wedges with a needle and thread, leaving 12 cm between the parts of the back and front parts that are not sewn up for the zipper. After basting, we try on the product to check the fit and, if necessary, correct any defects.

Third step: We connect all the wedges of the skirt using a sewing machine, sew in the side zipper, and press the seams.

Fourth step: attach the belt and process the bottom of the product.

Now the extravagant and fashionable skirt is ready; you can decorate this model for girls with lace at the bottom or add an original bow to the belt. Give your little fashionista a bright, original wardrobe item that will make your little one irresistible!
