Place the cut paper in front of you on a flat surface. Arrange it in "landscape" orientation, with the long sides on top and bottom, and the short sides on the left and right.

After finishing the process of decorating the paper, you should make sure that all the artistic elements have dried and stuck.

Fold the bottom edge of the paper up 5 cm and smooth it. Turn it back when finished. This will later become the bottom of the package.

Place the sides of the package together. Keeping the sheet landscape while working on it, fold the sides as follows:

Find the center points of the top and bottom. To do this, measure the distance with a ruler, or simply take the paper, keeping the orientation, and lay the short sides together, pressing down lightly on the fold on the bottom and top of the sheet to mark the center on each long side. Mark these places with a pencil.
Place marks to the left and right of each center point at a distance of 13 mm. When finished, you should have a total of six marks: three on one long side, and three on the other.

Fold the sides of the bag into place. Be sure to maintain the landscape orientation as you work to fold the sides as follows

Attach the right edge to the leftmost mark and fold. Turn back after smoothing. Repeat the same with the opposite side.
Turn the paper over, reattach the left and right edges to the center and glue them at the intersection. Make sure to fold in exactly the same way as last time (note that the folds will be on the other side). Let the glue dry completely before moving on to the next step.

Flip the bag over with the adhesive side facing in. Make sure one of the open sides is pointing towards you.

Fold the side folds inward in an accordion shape. You need to arrange the sides of the bag so that it opens in a rectangle.

Using a ruler, measure about 3.8 cm from the left edge of the bag. Make a mark with a pencil.
Attach the left side fold of the bag to the inside of the bag. Do this while the previous mark you made is on the outer edge of the fold line.
Fold the paper down so that the pencil mark lines up with the new folded edge. When smoothing the paper, try to maintain symmetry between the top and bottom edges.
Repeat the procedure with the right side. When finished, the base of the bag should fold inward on both sides, like a shopping bag.

Prepare the bottom of the bag. To determine its location, find the fold lines that you made earlier - this will be the bottom. Keep the package folded.

Fold and glue the bottom of the bag. Once you've determined which side the bottom is on, fold it up.
Bend the bag 10 cm from the bottom edge and fold it along this line.
Slightly open the bag, keeping the main part folded. The inner folds of the bag should open to form a rectangle. Inside on each side you have a triangle folded out of paper.

Finish the bottom of the package. You will need to fold several sides towards the center. Focus on their triangular shape so that the bottom is even.

Fold the left and right sides of the open square down. Use the outer edges of the triangle as a guide. When you're done, the bottom part will be in the shape of an elongated octagon - it will have 8 sides instead of 4 as before.
Fold the bottom of the octagon up towards the center of the bottom of the bag.
Fold the top of the octagon down towards the center of the bottom of the bag. The bottom part should now be neatly closed; glue the intersecting edges and let them dry.

The strength and simplicity of the look of kraft paper allowed it to become not only packaging for products and parcels, but also an excellent canvas for gift needlework. Bright decorations on such paper, even an ordinary ribbon, create the impression of decoration by a master with refined taste and attention to detail. Before you start following the crafting bag tutorial, you need to collect the following materials:

a sheet of kraft paper;
scissors;
glue;
hole puncher;
ribbon, lace or rope.

We put the sheet in front of us in landscape projection. We bend one of the side edges towards ourselves. The width of the fold is approximately 2 cm.

We turn the sheet over and grease the fold along the top with glue. Glue the opposite edge to the fold.

We bend the resulting part in the sides to give the package a square shape.

Bend the bottom of the package away from you, about 5 cm.

After that, bend the corners on the fold again into triangles to the line of the previous fold.

The side walls of the package are brought into a flat position, while said trapezoids are slightly bent in the middle.

To glue the bottom, glue is applied pointwise to the sides of the trapezoid and the space between them, after which the sides of the trapezoid are bent inward. First, this is done for one side of the two trapezoids, then for the other.

After the glue dries, the bottom straightens out - the bag can already stand on its own. The top of the bag should be slightly bent towards the bottom and holes should be made in it with a hole punch, into which the ribbon for the tie is threaded. You should get a kraft package, as in the following photo:

Let's move on to design

The created kraft package can be decorated not only with various types of ties at the top, but also with other decorative elements.

You can apply your own design on the surface of the package. Ink, charcoal, pastel, sepia, sanguine are best suited for drawing on such a surface. The drawing can be either a solid composition or a set of small elements, as in the photo:

In addition to the drawing, a variety of flat crafts can be glued to paper, both from paper and from fabric, acrylic, etc.

The top of the bag can be left flat or ribbed. The lace design also looks very nice, in which you can paste over the package with it, or transfer the lace pattern to the surface of the paper using paint and a sponge.

Kraft paper flowers can become decorations using patterns for patterns made from plain paper. These decorations look like this:

Depending on what size the package will be needed, draw the paper according to the presented sample. If you want to design the future handbag individually, then you need to do it at this stage - while the pattern is a flat surface;
The outer edges of the rectangle are bent and smeared with glue;
Then they are combined, forming a paper tube.

The paper is folded along the lined lines - side ribs are formed. After the ribs have already been made, the paper tube is smoothed out, the lower part is folded to one side.On this lower part, the corners are bent.

Then the bend is straightened, and the marked corners are bent inward. The lapels are smeared with glue and combined. Pressing firmly helps the paper stick together evenly.The bottom of the bag is straightened, and the structures are given time to dry.

The next step is to experiment. You can simply bend the top edge of the package, cut it with curly scissors, creating an interesting wave. Paste the edges with paper tape, and draw a geometric ornament on it ...

The possibilities for decorating a paper bag are unlimited.

After the product has dried completely, punch a hole through which the handle is threaded. Gift wrapping is ready.

Package manufacturing algorithm No. 2

You can do it even easier, without complicating your life by drawing a sheet. In this case, the formation of side ribs can be dispensed with. Rectangular craft the sheet is folded in half, and the bottom of the package is formed, as in the previous case.

The product will differ little in appearance, but it is unlikely that it will be possible to put voluminous gifts in such a package.

This method explains how to make a cardboard gift bag. The pattern-marking of the sheet will have to be done more carefully. From the list of tools, you can remove items that later decorate the product.

Cut out the pattern along all the necessary lines. The bottom is glued with cardboard - so the package will be more durable. The cardboard is folded along the lines and glued. Upper the edges bent inward, pierced with a hole punch.Such packaging is more reliable.

So that the seams do not come apart, after gluing, it is advisable to put the product under a press, especially if you worked with glossy paper. Such paper will make the gift bag bright and festive.

Of all the proposed options, this is the easiest. A gift bag can be formed according to a sample, which is suitable for a rectangular box of the desired size.

This is done as follows:

cut out a rectangle that is several times larger than the sample;
the edge, which is to be the top, is bent inward;
the box is applied to the upper edge, wrapped with paper on all sides;
form the bottom by bending the parts inward.

It is better to seal the side with PVA glue, and the bottom with tape.

How paper packaging is used

Gift wrapping isn't just for paper. A folder made of this versatile material will help out when there is no file at hand, but you need to fold several documents. You can also glue a box for sending parcels on your own.

To make a folder, you need to take a sheet of thick paper and cut out the next shape of the future package, leaving an indent of 1.5-2 cm on each side. Then these indents are smeared with glue, the details of the folder are bent inward, a package is obtained, like an envelope.

You can do without gluing - then the folder will look like in the picture. If you put a targeted congratulation in such a folder made of glossy paper and read it at some festive themed event, the hero of the day will surely be pleased.

As you can see, on my desktop, in addition to easily recognizable tools, there is a printed package scan, decorated in Adobe Photoshop Elements 10.

I used 120 g/m² Lomond photo paper and I must say that for bags of this size, this density is more than enough.

In addition, since the package will have handles, I prepared a hole punch and 2 pieces of decorative cord.

1. Cut out the development along the contour, turn it over and draw the scoring lines along the ruler, connecting the marks remaining outside the contour.

By the way, exactly the same creasing method is applicable for a matchbox case if it is decorated in a graphic editor (using template No. 2).

2. Fold the paper along the fold lines.

3. We stick a strip of double-sided tape like this:

And glue the edges of the scan.

4. We form the bottom of the package:

And now with the help of adhesive tape we glue it.

5. Wrap the top of the bag inside

and punch holes for the handles.

6. We insert cords into the holes, tying knots at the ends.

To make the remaining three bags, I used designer paper made using napkin technology.

This bag has paper cut handles.

I made them like this:

- cut out according to the printed template and ran through (dashed lines are visible here - this is from the preliminary version of the template),

- glued double-sided tape on the entire area of the strip,

- folded the edges to the middle and glued them.

After that, I cut out 2 paper strips 1 cm wide and 7 cm long, with their help I glued the handles to the bag from the inside.

What do you need to make a paper bag?

Making paper products does not require many skills. First of all, you need to decide on the paper. If you want so that the bag stays for a long time and does not tear, it is recommended to use laminated paper, which is considered a moisture resistant material. You can also purchase a good packing slip of the right size.

Also, to make such a product with your own hands, you will need sharp scissors, a pencil, a ruler, special glue or large adhesive tape (9-12 mm), eyelets, a punching machine, a special cord and cardboard. It is not always used and is needed to improve the strength of the bag.

How to make a paper bag?

First you need to outline the size of our product in height, length and width. On the back of the prepared piece of paper make a drawing with a pencil and a ruler.

Gluing a paper gift bag

First you need to collect the sleeve. To do this, apply glue or tape on a small vertical strip on the left side. Glue the right edge on it. When working with glue, you must always ensure that it does not go to the front of the product.

Next, create folds along all vertical lines. On the sides, you need to create a fold exactly in the center. After that, we bend the top line and, straightening the workpiece, fill the upper part inward.
It remains only to create a bottom for a gift item. Cut out a rectangle from cardboard that will fit the bottom in size. Create a fold along the line that lies at the bottom of the package and open it. Inside, fold a piece of cardboard and put a little glue on its middle. First lay the short sides, and then the long ones. Coat the edges with glue and iron the bottom.

Making bag handles

In most cases, paper bag handles are made from a special cord, but satin ribbons, braid, or other materials can also be used. It is important that the materials are durable. It is necessary to cut two pieces of cord of the same size. We advise you to set fire to their edges a little so that they do not bloom.

Now we need to punch holes., in which we will insert handles. To make the do-it-yourself package stronger, glue strips of cardboard under the folded part on top. Using a grommet machine, it is worth creating two holes each, on the front and back sides of the product, while punching paper together with cardboard. The holes should be in the place where you plan to fix the handles. If you do not have eyelet machines, you can create holes with a hole punch. It remains to insert the handles.

Pass a string or ribbon through both holes located on one side of the product. Tie knots at the ends so that they are on the inside. That's all, we made our paper bag with our own hands.
