How do Russians relax on December 31

December 31 is a holiday. New Year's bustle and shopping of Russians shopping reaches a peak. You also need to set the festive table, surprise dishes of family members and guests.

The State Duma of Russia at the meetings considered the issue of how to relax residents on December 31. The parliamentarians rejected the proposal to make the day off - to increase the winter holidays. Government agencies recommend letting workers go home an hour early. In practice, the working day is reduced by 2-3 hours - people leave work for lunch.

Private companies provide the option of rest on December 31, rather than a shortened working day. Employees of organizations on the appointed Saturday in December work out an extra day, increasing their holidays in the winter holidays.

Therefore, December 31, Thursday, officially in 2015, is a business day. It is considered pre-holiday, the duration on New Year's Eve is reduced by an hour.

New Year holidays 2016 how to relax

New Year and Christmas are approaching with fun feasts, meeting friends and fun snowball games. Everyone is trying to spend the New Year holidays as fun and good as possible, so that the memories of these days pleasantly warmed the soul throughout the year. Usually people plan various trips, meetings with relatives and friends, and other options for winter vacations.

But it’s quite difficult to make accurate plans without information about the exact number of days off allocated for celebrating the New Year holidays.

New Year holidays 2016 how to relax government decree

There is no person who wants to work hard all New Year's holidays and rush to work on January 1 in the morning. Everyone wants to start celebrating as early as possible and continue to perform labor duties only on the 15th of the first month of the new year. But the wishes of compatriots are often limited by the production calendar, prepared annually by the government, and then approved by the Ministry of Labor on the basis of the current Labor Code.

The development of a production calendar for the new year begins no earlier than the middle of this year; the government often delays the release of such an important document. 2015 was no exception, so the Russians still can only assume the duration of the New Year holidays, not daring to make any plans. But experts urge people to calm, assuring the stability of the New Year holidays. In 2016, the same number of days off is expected as in 2013-2015. The festive period will begin on January 1 and will continue until January 9. At the same time, on the 1st-8th, people are given the weekend to celebrate the New Year, and on the 9th-10th there is the opportunity to celebrate Christmas well. Thus, the government provides 10 days for the working people. It is noteworthy that in 2015 people rested for 11 days, but this happened due to the presence of one simple day off in the holiday schedule.

New Year holidays 2016 how to relax calendar

Most people wanted December 31 to be finally brought to the New Year holidays 2016. As we celebrate the New Year after coming home from work, we quickly prepare for the arrival of guests, prepare simple New Year dishes, work on the appearance, and also expedited cleaning. Although the formal holiday only begins in the first seconds of January 1, when the President’s congratulatory speech ends on TV and the chimes begin to count down, people begin preparations for the New Year’s celebration much earlier.

It is simply impossible to manage to do everything in the remaining few hours after coming home from work, so you have to fulfill the necessary plans a few days before the holiday date. Therefore, adding December 31 to the number of holidays would be very appropriate.

But the government did not approve such a decision, although it considered it for a long period. So, the Russians again will have to go to work immediately on December 31, and then, at an accelerated pace, prepare for the new year. However, the last day of the year is shortened, so employers will release their employees an hour earlier. You can hang the made Christmas toys with your own hands on the Christmas trees and decorate your home with them.

Possible reduction of the New Year holidays

Recently, members of the LDPR party proposed reducing the celebration of New Year and Christmas to 5 days. New Year holidays 2016 as a vacation with a lot of alcohol and fatty foods, lead to significant financial waste and health problems. Deputies believe that the New Year celebration should be held only from December 31 to January 3, and Christmas should be celebrated no more than a day (January 7).

Every year, changes are made to the production calendar related to the transfer of various holidays, including church ones. This is due to the fact that some holidays fall on weekends. According to the current legislation, these days are shifted either to the next working days, or by special order are postponed to the days of other months. This approach allows you to make the holidays continuous. It is economically viable and justifiable in terms of the convenience of citizens. The largest number of days off falls on New Year's holidays and in the month of May.

The preliminary information posted officially helps you plan your weekends and holidays, pre-booking trips, booking hotels and purchasing tickets. In many cases, such preliminary planning helps to fulfill your dreams, as for many days off, especially New Year's holidays, it is simply unrealistic to buy tours and tickets.

Note! Reservations are often made six months before the trip.

So, we will figure out how to relax in 2016.

The most joyful holidays in January

The Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation, in accordance with article 112 part 2 of the Labor Code, decided to postpone the days off on which holidays fell on January 2 and 3 to other days so that workers can spend more holidays without breaks.

The day off is postponed from Saturday, January 2, to Tuesday, May 3, and Sunday, January 3, to Monday, March 7. This practice is generally accepted and rational, helping to maintain the continuity of the holidays and allow people to go on holiday this weekend.

Note! In the new 2016, we will all rest for ten days - from January 1 to 10, inclusive.

Weekends for January holidays are summed with non-working holidays in January. These are January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8, which fall on the New Year holidays, and January 7, when all Orthodox Christians celebrate Christmas. All these data are approved in accordance with article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.

Such a serious vacation will allow many to relax at home, as well as have time to go on a tourist trip, go skiing, ice skating and sledding. A long winter vacation will benefit the body, and the smallest will give numerous New Year's parties and performances where they can go with the whole family, along with mom and dad. Congratulations and gifts received from family and friends, as well as those stocked up by Santa Claus and Snegurochka, will make New Year's holidays for children as desirable as for adults.

February weekend

In February 2016, the days from Sunday 21 to Tuesday February 23 were turned into holidays. This is done in honor of the Defender of the Fatherland Day. Three days of rest in a row were due to the postponement of the day off from Saturday February 20 to Monday February 22. As a result, we have the opportunity to plan a winter trip for three free days or just relax and unwind.

February is not in vain considered the hardest month - these are the last breaths of winter, when the weather does not please at all, and the forces are running out. A short rest will be very helpful.

Note! Unfortunately, Saturday was a working day, because the day off from Saturday February 20 was postponed to Monday February 22.

Holidays in March

On non-working days of 2016 in March, a full four days are included - from Saturday 5 to Tuesday March 8. Celebrating International Women's Day for so long has helped the shift from Sunday January 3 to Monday March 7. It would seem that the day off lost for the New Year was very useful in March, because the women's holiday in our country is loved and revered, and spring further contributes to the desire to have a good rest and have fun.

After a long winter, spring holidays are especially valuable and enjoyable.

May holidays in 2016

For the May holidays, it is customary to arrange picnics and country trips, getting out there with families and noisy friends. This May holidays will take place from April 30, Saturday, to May 3, Tuesday. During this time, everyone will have time to relax, rejoicing in the steady warmth, flowering gardens and traditional May barbecue.

How many days we will rest in May depends on which days the holidays fall. This year, the holiday of May 1 falls on Sunday, a day off, therefore, according to the legislation, it was postponed to Monday. Another holiday appeared as a result of the transfer of January 2 to May 3. As a result, in May 2016, Workers' Solidarity Day became a four-day vacation.

But that's not all. In May we will rest for 3 more days - from May 7 to 9, from Saturday to Monday, celebrating Victory Day over fascist Germany together with our family and friends. These days we will recall all those who did not return from this war, who shed their blood and from the last forces worked in the rear. These are our grandfathers and grandmothers, it is to them that we owe the opportunity now to work calmly, relax and enjoy the peaceful sky, hoping for a bright future for our children and grandchildren.

June holidays

In honor of the Day of Russia, the working people of our vast Motherland will receive a three-day rest. It will last from Saturday June 11 to June 13, Monday. June 12, 2016 turned out to be Sunday, and it was rescheduled the next day.

On these pleasant warm summer days it will be very cool to be out of town or in the country, breathe in the night freshness and listen to the nightingale singing. At night, when the air is filled with the aromas of flowering plants, you begin to understand the truth of the words about "how soothing the nights in Russia are."

November holidays

These fall holidays are traditionally popular in our country, although their ideological significance has changed dramatically. The revolutionary theme has disappeared, giving way to a more progressive and democratic Day of National Unity. In November, we will be able to rest for three days in a row, from November 4 to 6, from Friday to Sunday inclusive. These days, we can all gain strength before the upcoming winter, taking a walk in the fresh air and meeting with friends and relatives.

New Year holidays in 2016 will begin on January 1 (the first day of the year this time falls on Friday) and will continue until Sunday January 10. The next day, January 11, the first official week of the new year will begin in Russia - and the students will start their studies (the end of school holidays at schools working according to the traditional “quarter” system this year coincides with the end of rest in adults).

January holidays in Russia consist of public holidays, timed to coincide with the celebration of the New Year and Christmas and ordinary weekends, which “add on” to the holidays. In accordance with Russian law the holidays are from January 1 to January 8. But January 9 and 10 is a regular weekend, Saturday and Sunday. Therefore, for those who work on a six-day week, the New Year holidays may end earlier: the administration has the right to demand a job as early as Saturday, January 9, or, in order not to “break off” the working week, postpone the start of the working year to Sunday.

Weekend transfers for the New Year holidays in 2016

The duration of the January holidays in our country varies slightly annually - for example, in 2015 they lasted 11 days, in 2014 - only eight. How much on New Year's holidays depends on the schedule for transferring holidays: according to the law, if a holiday falls on a weekend, then the holiday is postponed. Sometimes such "extra" days are added to winter rest, sometimes they are carried over to other months.

This year, the holidays had two days off: Saturday January 2 and Sunday January 3. Their residents will “walk” in the spring: one of the extra days off will be postponed to March 7, the second - to May 3. Thus, the International Women's Day and the Day of Spring and Labor will be marked by a four-day mini-vacation.

If we look at how we are on New Year's holidays by day, then the schedule will look like this:

  • January 1, Friday - holiday, New Year;

  • January 2, Saturday - a public holiday, the day off from this day is postponed to May 3;

  • Sunday January 3 - a public holiday, the day off from this day is postponed to March 7;

  • January 4, Monday

  • January 5, Tuesday - holiday non-working day;

  • January 6, Wednesday - holiday non-working day;

  • January 7, Thursday - holiday, Christmas;

  • January 8, Friday - holiday non-working day;

  • Saturday January 9th - day off (excluding working on a six-day week);

  • January 10, Sunday - day off.

December 31 - day off or work?

Despite the fact that at least 8 days are allotted for the celebration of the New Year in Russia, it does not rely on the preparation for this solemn event. The question of making December 31 a day off was already submitted to the State Duma - but this initiative was rejected.

Therefore, December 31, Thursday, will officially be in 2015 a working day. It is considered pre-holiday, so the length of the working day on New Year's Eve should be reduced by an hour.

Not having time to celebrate New Year's Eve, many Russians rush to look at the calendar to find out how we relax on New Year's holidays in 2020. The production schedule is officially approved only in the fall, but now it can be assumed how long the winter holidays in our country will be.

January traditions

Since 2012, the concept of “New Year holidays” was introduced in the Labor Code, which is fixed on January 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. Everyone accepted this initiative with gratitude, because now officially without a day off and absenteeism it was possible to arrange a real mini-vacation. This tradition immediately took root, and even some deputies want to make a proposal to extend the holidays, adding to them on December 31. But there are those who remained dissatisfied. These are factions of the Communist Party and the Liberal Democratic Party, which even before the amendments to the Labor Code were opposed to a long weekend in the winter, arguing that such a long break in work undermines the country's economy and adversely affects the health of citizens. Instead of resting on January 3, 4 and 5, they wanted to expand the May holidays in honor of the Great Victory by adding non-working days on May 10 and 11, or to make it an official holiday on May 2.

In 2015, the LDPR was also developing a project that consisted of reducing holidays in the year to three dates: January 1, May 9 and June 12. They planned to make the vacated days an official ten-day vacation, which once a year will be granted to all officially employed citizens without exception. According to the project, it could be issued at any time of the year. These proposals did not find support from the United Russia faction; therefore, they remained at the project level. If they accepted the Liberal Democratic Party’s proposal, then employers would certainly have been indignant, who certainly would not have been satisfied with the mass vacations of workers in the middle of winter, namely at this time of the year many people go to resorts. And 71% of the population are also against such drastic changes, because vacation in the middle of the working year is only good.

The official New Year's weekend coincides with the winter holidays with schoolchildren, so the whole family can spend this time together. If in summer the problem of children's recreation is solved by organizing health camps, then in January the children are simply left to their own devices. And for adults, continuous rest is also useful, because if working days are constantly interrupted by weekends, it is extremely difficult to tune in to work.

Sociologists claim that the 7 days of the New Year holidays indicated in the shopping center are enough for a good rest, but there will already be overkill, so joining them with additional calendar days usually has a bad effect on mood and well-being.

New Year holidays 2020

Every year we all look excitedly at the calendar to find out how many days of rest will be. New Year's holidays in 2020 will last exactly as many days as it should be on the TC. Christmas will also be added to the holidays, which is also a separate holiday. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to relax on the eve of the holiday, because the 1st day falls on Wednesday, so two days of transfer due to working off during the year will not work. The only bonus provided by Art. 95 TC, - reduction of the working day by 1 hour on the 31st.

Based on this production calendar, you can calculate the approximate number of working hours.

Deputies in vain worry that the Russians will not get a rest in May. If you look at how we relax on the New Year holidays 2020, we can immediately say that these holidays will give an additional weekend in the spring. January 4 and 5 marked in the shopping center fall on the weekend, so they are automatically transferred to May 4 and 12, respectively.

Winter holidays

According to the Labor Code, we will be leaving on the 9th in 2020. After the holiday week, it will be necessary to work out only two days, after which the weekend will come again. Old New Year, January 13-14, falls on Monday-Tuesday. Although people celebrate it, it’s still not officially fixed for these weekend numbers. This is just a tribute to tradition and an occasion to extend your New Year mood.

After the onset of Orthodox Christmas, Christmas time begins, the traditions of which developed back in pre-Christian times and were partially accepted by the church. As far back as the 6th century, church charters prescribed that Christmas time is a holiday during which everyone should feel the love and care of others. In Byzantium, within two weeks after Christmas, parishioners of the churches carried gifts to prisons and helped the sick and poor.

Christmas time ends on January 18, and the next day people celebrate Baptism, according to tradition, plunging into an ice hole. The January holidays do not end there, because the 25th is Tatyana’s day, popularly known as the day of Russian students.
